March 29 Devotion -The Cross

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;

Acts 2:20-23

Christ's suffering on the cross was fore-ordained, and was the only payment of our debt that God would accept—this is the great sacrifice on which the eternal life of believers depends. If Christ had not gone to the cross and suffered in our place, the just for the unjust, there would not have been a spark of hope for us. There would have been a mighty chasm between us and God, which no man ever could have crossed.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord thank You for loving me so much that you were ready to let Your Son die on the cross to redeem me, a sinner. As Jesus said: Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13  God, I thank You, I praise You, and I glorify You in the name of Your precious Son, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to whom be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.

March 28 Devotion - Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper - Please watch Video

When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 15 Then He said to them, With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you”.

March 27 Devotion - Jesus Prays for All believers - Part 2

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

John 17:20-23

Jesus asked for unity amongst believers. He desires that we have a deep connection with Him and The Father and also with other believers.

He gave us a new commandment:

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

John 13:34

Both unity and love have the same purpose “that the world may know”. Jesus commands us to be united in Him. As believers in Jesus Christ, as Lord and Saviour, we need to be united with each other in every family, in every Church and across all denominations, churches and counties, and lift up ‘The Church’ as one church, because Christ loved The Church and gave himself up for her Ephesians 5:25.

The unity that Christ offers brings peace within and between believers. In the world system we may have tribulations and persecution but we have Jesus’ assurance:

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings.
Thank You Jesus for praying for me, to our Father.
Thank You Jesus for granting me eternal life through the Cross.
Thank You Jesus that you are in me and I in You.
Thank You Father for Your love.
Thank You Jesus for revealing God to me, because I have these wonderful resources, I can persevere in my faith.
Abba Father, please set me apart for your service so that I may fulfill Your mission for me on this earth.
Help me Jesus to carry out Your commandment to love others and be united with all my Christian brothers and sisters.
Help me God to demonstrate unity with fellow believers through love, obedience and commitment to Your will.
Thank you Jesus for the peace You give me and the assurance that You have conquered the world.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

March 26 Devotion - Jesus Prays for All 'Believers' - Part 1

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

John 17:20

Jesus words, "I pray also for those who will believe in me through their word”, should give us real comfort especially during times of adversity.

After praying for his disciples, Jesus prayed for all those who would believe in Him through their word. In a sense, everyone who has become a believer; a follower of Christ; has done so through the apostles' message. So Jesus was praying for all the believers who would ever exist.

He was praying for you and me and every believer we know. He was praying for everyone we will reach with our message of salvation.

Knowing that Jesus prayed for us should give us confidence as we work for His Kingdom.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You Jesus for praying for me, to our Father. Thank you Jesus for granting me eternal life through the Cross. Jesus please teach us to pray as You taught Your disciples. Father strengthen our faith and give us this peace and confidence that Your promises are coming true, and that it is an awesome thing You are doing for us believers throughout the world and especially in all these nations that do not believe in Christ. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

March 25 Devotion - Hosanna in the highest

Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethpage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; 2 and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. 3 And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”
4 So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. 5 But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”
6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. 8 And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
      “ Hosanna!
‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
      Hosanna in the highest!”

Matthew 21:1-9

The word "Hosanna" means "save now," It is a Syriac word, and was a form of acclamation used among the Jews. It was probably used in the celebration of their great festivals.

To come "in the name of the Lord" here means to come "by the authority" of the Lord. The Jews had commonly applied this to the Messiah.

Hosanna in the highest - This may be a prayer to God: Save now, O You that dwells in the highest heaven.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus, I pray that as You entered Jerusalem, that You enter my heart triumphant and welcomed. I lay in front of You my palms in prayer for everyone who has not yet accepted You as Lord and Saviour, that they do so today and that You enter their hearts and fill their hearts with Your peace and love. Amen.

March 22 Devotion - Hallelujah, God is in Control

My life may be controlled in 4 different ways:

1. My life may be controlled by the particular situation I am facing. In this case I cannot have peace because at any second that situation can change and be out of control. Life’s circumstances can change in a heartbeat.

2. My life may be controlled by another person who controls the circumstance in which I am involved. I may have peace for a while, but eventually that person may disappoint me and let me down in some way, and I can lose my peace.

3. I am in control, and it may appear that I have the power to guarantee myself a peaceful existence, but eventually I may make a mistake or something/someone will enter the picture to rearrange my circumstances, and before I know it, I will find that my ability to create and control my own serenity was an illusion.

4. I have a strong, unshakable conviction that God is in control of my life. With Him steering the ship, there’s every reason to hope, every reason to feel confident, and every reason to move forward boldly in my life, expecting the best out of every experience. I have the necessary foundation to experience what The Scriptures call “the peace that transcends all understanding.”

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

..and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

 Philippians 4:7

Please repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank you LORD that You promised that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Father, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit so that I may have a strong, unshakable conviction that You are in control of every second of my future and that through this assurance I can have an inner sense of peace that transcends all human understanding. Thank You Father that You delight in showing me again and again that You are the source of my strength, my provision, my protection, my peace, my joy and my salvation. In the name of Your precious Son Jesus, I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

March 21 Devotion - CLAIM GOD'S BLESSINGS

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

Ephesians 1:3

Please notice that this verse is in the past tense. The Apostle Paul wrote that Jesus Christ already has made all of these blessings available to those who believe in Him. He did not say that God is going to bless us with spiritual blessings once we are in heaven, or even once we fulfill certain duties, roles, or commands.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, You have already provided for all my needs and made them available to me through Christ Jesus. Teach me to claim them, and receive them, through faith, prayer, and total belief that I will receive them. My Heavenly Father, give me the inner vision of having already received them and the patience to wait for Your right timing. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. ‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

March 20 Devotion - God is with us

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid, for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You God for being with me in every situation and always strengthening and helping me. Thank You that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Please keep upholding me with Your righteous right hand and take away from me any fear. God please sink Your confidence deep into my soul, heart and mind. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

March 19 Devotion - Don't worry, be happy

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Matthew 6:27

Are you worrying about something today?

To worry means to allow something to revolve in your mind over and over again.

God doesn't want us to live worried or anxious about anything. He knows that worry steals our peace and joy. It affects every area of our lives. Worrying affects our physical body. It affects our sleep.

We will never gain anything by worrying; in fact, we will lose precious moments that we can never get back again.

The good news is that God has promised that we can have victory over worry. It starts by making the choice to trust in Him. When we cast our cares on Him, He will give us His peace. Jesus said:

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mathew 11:28

Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Choose to feed your faith and fill your mind with God's promises. Come to Jesus and lay your burdens at the feet of His cross. As you trust Jesus and depend on Him and you focus on God's Word, you'll drive out worry and fill your heart with faith and expectancy; and you'll be empowered to move forward into the life of blessings He has in store for you.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. I praise You and glorify You. Lord, help me today to put an end to worry in my life. Strengthen my faith and teach me to feed my faith by studying Your promises and declaring Your Word over my life. Help me Jesus to totally trust in You today and every day and to feel happy. I want to rejoice in You Lord. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

March 15 Devotion - No Anxiety

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Let us begin every day with a declaration of victory over the specific challenges in our lives. Item by item, let us thank God for the victory, pray to the Father based upon the fact that Christ at the cross paid the price not only for our sins but for our victories.

By doing so, we activate our faith before activating our will to resist on our own. When the anxiety or pressure comes, each one of us can tell the Holy Spirit, Christ has already dealt with this, and I have already claimed His power, so please guide me and show me how to handle it.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for the abundant blessings and gifts You have given me, beginning with the gift of salvation. I need and yearn for Your peace. Please fill my heart with Your peace that transcends all understanding. You know my burdens, tears, and sorrows. I humbly bow before You and worship declaring victory through my redeemer Jesus Christ.
Lord, thank You for being present in the small details of my life. I praise You, Lord. Write Your Word on my heart, O Lord, and teach me to cherish it. Jesus, I pray in Your name that You will guard my heart and mind in You. Amen.

March 14 Devotion - A Peaceful Heart

A heart at peace gives life to the body.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.

Proverbs 14:30
John 14:27

Today, let us choose to keep our hearts at peace by staying focused on God the Father. Let’s give life to our bodies by staying in agreement with Him. Let His peace guard our hearts so that we can be equipped to live the abundant life He has promised to us. Then let us do this again tomorrow and the next day, and the next day, so that we can live in peace.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You for Your Word which is life to my soul. I praise You Jesus because You are the Prince of Peace. Help me to stay focused on You today so that I can have Your peace in my heart and mind. Thank You for guiding my every step. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

March 13 Devotion - Be Ready to Receive

 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

Psalm 23:6

God has many blessings prepared for us. He has favour in our future like we have never imagined.
He wants to take us places that we've never even dreamed of. But in order for us to partake of all these blessings, we have to be ready to receive.

Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

Isaiah 54:2

Think about this: if you have a ten litre container and someone has a hundred litres to give you, the problem is not with the supply. The problem is that you don't have the capacity to receive the hundred litres. But, if you get rid of that small container and get something larger, then you will be able to receive more. It's the same way with God.

If we think we've reached our limits, the problem isn't that God doesn't have the resources or the ability. The problem is that our container is too small. We have to enlarge our vision and make room for the new things God has for us.

Our attitude should be, "Yes, I am going through a tough time, but I know God is still on the throne. I know wherever I go His goodness and mercy follow me.” When we have that kind of attitude, we are increasing our capacity to receive so that we can live the abundant life Jesus has in store for each one of us.

‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John10:10

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus, I want to experience the abundant life You came to give me. On a spiritual level first, and a life needs second. Please enlarge my vision of myself and my future, make me ready to receive all the blessings You want and are ready to give me. God, give me that mountain of faith which ensures in my core that goodness and mercy will fill the rest of my life. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
