October 30 Devotion - God's Love- A Redeeming Love

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

1Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 1:7

To redeem means: to purchase back at a cost.

Jesus went to the cross for the primary purpose of purchasing us back from a life of slavery to sin, to a life of freedom as children of God.

Be freed from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Romans 8:21

Does this apply to everyone? I believe it applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross, and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. At that moment they are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and inseparable love. Lord I praise You and glorify You. Thank You Lord that I was not purchased with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

October 29 Devotion - God's Love- A Calling Love

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
1 Peter 2:9

God shows His love for us is by calling us out of the darkness of sin and into the light of fellowship with Him.
Even more, because God has called us to Himself, He promises to protect that relationship.

And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
John 10:28

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and inseparable love. Thank You Lord that through Christ I am considered one of Your own special people. Thank You that through Your grace Lord You chose me and called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Strengthen me Lord to abide in Jesus, the vine, and receive eternal life. Thank You Lord for Your love and for Your assurance that my spirit shall never perish; and no one shall snatch me out of Your hand. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

October 28 Devotion - God's Love - An Inseparable Love

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

What the Apostle Paul is saying based on Clarke’s Commentary on The Bible is as follows: For I am persuaded - After the blessed experience we have had of support by the grace and Spirit of him that loved us, that neither fear of death, nor hope of life, nor evil angels, nor principalities, nor powers, persecuting us for Christ's sake; nor the things we endure at present, nor the things to come, whatever tribulation we may be called to suffer in future; shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and inseparable love. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may continue to dwell in my heart through faith and make me confident that nothing shall be able to separate me from Your love God, which is in Christ Jesus my Lord and Saviour. Thank You God that Your love for me can never be snatched away from me. I pray to You in the name of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, The Prince of Peace, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 27 Devotion - God's Love- God Loves Me to Life

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord! Contrary to our common saying ‘I love you to death’, God loves us to life, eternal life.

Note the word in. Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To receive the full benefit of God's unconditional love for each of us, there is a qualifier. We MUST be in Christ Jesus. In order to be in Christ Jesus we must accept the sacrifice He has given us, that He died taking full punishment for our sins, so that our sins would not be held against us and we be judged for them on the Judgment Day.
Saying it another way, if you have not embraced the free give of salvation that Jesus Christ provided for us by taking our punishment on the cross, you are NOT in Christ Jesus.

If you haven't already made that choice, now is a great time to make it.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord You are Good and I praise You and glorify You. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. Thank You Lord that You gave me the opportunity to be born again of The Spirit and to become in You Jesus. I pray for everyone that has not had that opportunity, to listen to You knocking at their hearts and to open the door and let You in. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 24 Devotion - God's Love

God loves us in many ways. In depth and breadth and width that is beyond our understanding. I will be searching to understand what I can of the many dimensions of His love in the following several devotions.
The question: "Why does God love us?" is a profound question and I am not able to answer it sufficiently. One thing I believe is certain, however: God does not love us because we are lovable or because we deserve His love.
God is love.
1 John 4:8
God doesn’t just love; He is love. His nature and essence are love. Love permeates His very being and infuses all His other attributes. God’s love is not a sentimental, romantic feeling; rather, it is Agape love, the love of self-sacrifice.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:16-17

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord You are Good and I praise You and glorify You. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. I also pray that I become rooted and established in love, and  have the power, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,  and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 23 Devotion - Safety and Peace

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
John 16:33 Amplified Bible (AMP)

So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.
Hebrews 10:23 AMP

The events in Canada during this week make me feel that I need to focus on God’s grace and unconditional love and on His power and ability to control all circumstances and that Jesus has deprived the world of its power to harm us and has conquered it for us.
Maybe you feel the same way about Canada or about the country you live in or your personal circumstances. Let us focus on His always-listening ear and His always-watchful eye, for He Who promised is reliable and faithful to His word.

I believe that when we keep focusing on God, our thoughts about our problems diminish and our hope increases.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I choose to see Your loving arms wrapped around me lifting me up to safety, provision, and peace. I thank You that You are a reliable and trustworthy God and You promised that You will never leave me nor forsake me, and I know that You are faithful. I choose today to concentrate on You, to hold fast my confession that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and in His mighty name I pray. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

October 22 Devotion - Your Faith has Healed You

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.
Matthew 9:20-22

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. I praise You and glorify you. Lord, You have the power to heal any ailment just by thinking it. I need to be healed and I need to have a faith that heals me. God, I pray to You in the name of Your son Jesus; to strengthen and magnify my faith by quantum amounts and to heal my physical and emotional ailments now. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 21 Devotion - God chose us in Christ

Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Ephesians 1:4, John10:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

I understand the above scripture Ephesians 1:4to mean that we believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and declared Him as Lord over our lives; were chosen by God before the world was formed. We are called to a fullness of life which far exceeds the dimensions of our earthly existence, because it consists in sharing the very life of God.

Not only has He chosen you, but He has equipped you with everything you need to live His abundant life.
In order to be all that God has called you to be, you have to see yourself as chosen, valuable, and victorious.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I praise You and glorify You. Lord, thank You that You have picked me as Your own in Christ even before the foundation of the earth and that through Christ’s blood You consider me blameless in Your sight. Help me Lord to understand my value as it stems from You and to rise up higher and higher into the abundant life of victory and joy You have prepared for me. Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can see myself as chosen, valuable and victorious. Lord, show me Your ways that I may be holy (consecrated and set apart for You) and walk with You in confidence and trust all the days of my life. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 20 Devotion- I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; For God has said:  ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Philippians 4:6
Isaiah 41:10

Many times our worries and fears result from imaginary thoughts, things that may never happen or come true. By crying out to God and unloading our cares and burdens on Him, He is assured of (and we are reminded of) our dependence on Him. And that is what pleases Him. Even before our prayers are answered, we feel peace.

When we come up against a fear–producing situation, we should immediately pray for God’s wisdom and protection, admit our inner struggle, and leave it in God’s hands for God is omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (always present), and omniscient (all-knowing).

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord I praise You and glorify You. Lord help me to always unload my burden upon You and strengthen me to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I present my requests to You. Cover me with Your grace so that I feel confident of Your promise  to strengthen me, help me and  uphold me with Your righteous right hand. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

In Him,

October 17 Devotion - God's Vision for us is superior

Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:4–5

Most of us are familiar with the scripture, in which God said,
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways”
Isaiah 55:8

Yet many times we fail to see the goodness of this verse. God often takes us places we could never dream of going on our own. His vision is far beyond ours. His might and power open doors for us we thought were permanently closed or opens doors we never knew existed. I actually experienced that this week as He opened a door of service for me adding my devotions to a group started and led by someone else.

God has a way of providing all we could ever hope for. The problem comes when we fail to trust Him in times of waiting. Maybe all of us have done this. We want something to take place so badly that we try to convince God to give us what we want now. When we fail to see His immediate response, we often think He is not going to provide what we desire to receive.

Jesus told His disciples:
Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I praise You and glorify You. Abba Father, please show me Your plan and desires for me and help me to wait for Your way to be known. Don’t let me walk in my own way. Take away my selfish desires and replace them with Your healthy dreams and goals. I believe that the blessings I will receive will fill my heart with boundless joy. Lord I trust in Your  vision; which is far beyond my vision; and I trust  that Your might and power will continue to open doors for me that I thought were permanently closed or new doors that I never knew existed. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. To Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever, and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

October 16 Devotion - Keep your eyes on Jesus

Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.
Proverbs 4:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)

While peripheral vision, or seeing things from the corner of our eyes, is a good thing for driving, it is not good when we want to be followers of Jesus. As we need to have directional vision seeing only Jesus and not the lusts of the world. That’s why Proverbs 4:25 tells us that we need to look straight ahead toward Christ because in the spiritual, like the natural, whatever we focus our mind and heart on, we move toward. Jesus told us:
The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.
Matthew 6:22

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I praise You and glorify You. Lord Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way Psalm 119:37 Help me Lord to keep my eyes on Jesus and not on my problems nor on the lusts of the world. Teach me to be steadfast in my faith. Father God, I want my fixed purpose to be: to become Christlike. Please let my eyes be sound and fill my whole body with the light of The Holy Spirit.

October 15 Devotion - Align your Vision to God's Vision

For the vision awaits an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it is slow in coming wait for it; because it will surely come.  It will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:3

God has a vision for the life of each believer. It is important for each one of us to realize God’s purpose for our individual lives; and be aligned with it. He also has a vision for us as a family, a church, a community and a country.
God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of each one of us. If you have had challenges in the past, the depth of your valley determines the height of your potential mountain top. Keep hold of the vision, give your dreams a new beginning, and embrace all the blessings God has planned for you.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I seek  Your viewpoint. Clarify my spiritual vision Lord and help me to focus on the principles of Your Word. Thank You Father that when my vision is aligned with Yours, I have Your assurance that it will materialize. Lord, give me the strength and wisdom to follow Your leading. I rejoice in the hope and the faith and knowledge that my vision will soon materialize. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 14 Devotion - God's Ways

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways.

ISAIAH 55:9

The definition of what is good changes as we come to Christ and grow into His likeness. However, God always sees what is absolutely good for us—things that are good for us now, good for us in every area of our lives, good for those around us, and good for us through all eternity. His ways are different than our ways. He gives us only the things that are truly beneficial for our growth as His children and that are beneficial for the advancement of His Kingdom on this earth.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord You are Good and I praise You and glorify You. Jesus, help me to pray for what is good for me and those impacted by what I am praying for. Help me to have the discernment and wisdom to know what to pray for. Help me to pray for those things that will help me grow in Your likeness and for the advancement of Your Kingdom. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

October 13 Devotion - Wishing you A Happy Thanksgiving

Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving day. Best wishes to all my Canadian friends and family and to the whole nation.

Your circumstances today may be bright. If so, give God the praise that He deserves. However, if your situation is bleak, still give God thanks. Giving thanks always for all things (that does not leave you with any exceptions) is possible when you understand that every situation, good or bad, is used by our loving Father to further our dependence on Him and make us more like His Son. God is determined to conform us to the image of Christ through the inevitable afflictions that accompany life. Having, cultivating and maintaining a grateful heart that continues to pulsate with thanksgiving, even in trials, presents a challenge. Thanking God in the trials may be difficult, but when we do, His purposes and presence will illuminate our path and carry us through.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I praise You and glorify You. Lord help me to always see Your hand in my life and to be grateful for Your wisdom. Lord give me a grateful heart that continues to pulsate with thanksgiving, even in trials. Lord I ask that through my gratitude in the midst of trials that Your purpose and presence will illuminate my path and carry me through. Thank You God that You are determined to conform me to the image of Christ through any afflictions in my life. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence. Psalm 140:13  I give thanks to the Lord of lords for His mercy endures forever: Psalm 136:3 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, because of Your righteous judgments. Psalm 119:62. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. To Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever, and unto ages of all ages. Amen.
