June 30 Devotion - Always look forward

Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."
Luke 9:62

Jesus told His disciples that anyone who puts his hands to the plow and then looks back at what their life might have been if they had not put their hands on the plow is not fit for the Kingdom of God.

When we start our journey of faith by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we should never look back. When we are fully committed to Christ, we will be committed to His mission. Jesus was committed to the Father’s mission, even to the point of death on The Cross for the remission of our sins.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, I praise You for Your work in my life. Jesus I know that You are committed to me Lord, and I know that You have a purpose and a wonderful plan in store for me. Help me to stay obedient and committed to You and Your calling for my life. Give me wisdom and insight into my personal mission that You have chosen for me, and the strength to bring it to fruition. God I praise You, glorify You, worship You, and lift You up on high. Thank You Lord for Your abundant blessings and for Your deep, everlasting and inseparable love.
In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

June 25 Devotion - Be strengthened with might through Jesus' spirit

For this reason [grasping the greatness of this plan by which Jews and Gentiles are joined together in Christ] I bow my knees [in reverence] before the Father [of our Lord Jesus Christ], 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name [God—the first and ultimate Father]. 16 May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, 18 be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love];

The Apostle Paul was the one who brought the gospel to many of the Gentiles, and because of this, he felt responsible to pray for their spiritual growth, maturity, and development. He was praying specifically for them to be strengthened with power through God's Spirit. I believe the same prayer is applicable to us; the followers of Jesus; today as we need to be strengthened and need to comprehend the enormous magnitude of Jesus’ love for us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, form me Lord so that I may be rooted and grounded in love, and through Your grace Father, fill me up to Your fullness. Abba, please grant me according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in my inner being. Thank You Lord for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me and Your abundant blessings. I pray Lord that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith, and that I can comprehend the fathomless love of Christ. Lord, I praise You, lift You up on high, and glorify You. In Jesus’ name I pray. To Jesus be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

June 24 Devotion - WALKING BY GOD'S WORD

Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];

Hebrews 10:23
We should always live according to God’s wisdom and walk by faith not by sight. We should trust the Holy Spirit to guide us, and not our emotions or impulses. God always keeps His promises.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, You are good and I praise You and glorify You. Lord help me to be patient and wait for Your way to be declared to me. Strengthen me Lord to be dependent on You and not decide on my own for You are trustworthy and faithful to Your promises. Thank You Lord that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life and for Your grace upon my life. Father God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

Many of us experience anxiety at one point or another in our lives and these days there is a global anxiety because of the Covid-19 virus. Let us remember that God is sovereign; we can cast all our anxiety on Him. He created everything and has absolute control over every aspect of His creation. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever present. He knows absolutely everything about our situation and He cares for us. God loves all believers in His Son Jesus Christ; who have accepted Him as Lord and Saviour; with an unconditional, unfathomable, immeasurable love.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You Father for Your  omniscience—You know all my needs, for  Your omnipotence—You are able to help in all circumstances, for Your  omnipresence—You are involved in all aspects and details of my life. Help me God to totally depend on You, cast my worries and anxiety on You and enjoy Your peace. My heavenly Father, please produce wholeness out of my brokenness; build strength out of my weakness; heal my emotional and physical sickness; and bring reconciliation and love to all my relationships. Thank You Father God for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me and Your abundant blessings. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,
In Him,

June 22 Devotion - God will strengthen you

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

Isaiah 41:10, John 16:33

God speaks with tenderness; Fear not, for I am present with you. When we are weak He will strengthen us. When we are in need He will help us. When we fall, He will uphold us with His right hand which is full of righteousness. In His hand, there is victory, strength, and provision. In His hand there is everything we need.

In contrast to our assumption that peace means the absence of conflict, Jesus promises that his peace becomes apparent in the very middle of trouble and conflict. Troubles remind us to ask for Jesus' peace. God's answer will not usually mean that the problem will be over, but that Christ's peace will see us through it.

Abba Father, please remind me in times of trouble to ask in prayer for Jesus’ peace and give me the faith that His peace will see me through it. God, help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You and obeying Your word. Lord, even when things do not make sense and are beyond my control, nothing is beyond Your ability. Lord, I know that You are upholding me with Your righteous right hand to make everything work together for my good. Thank You Lord for Your deep and everlasting love of me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.
