October 28 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 24 - I have been redeemed and forgiven. I have been adopted as Gods child.

 

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, ¹⁴ in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.

 

Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1:5

Forgiveness (Gk. aphesis) speaks of a canceled debt. You and I can be forgiven, not simply because God is merciful, but because Christ went to the cross and shed His blood for me and for you. Our debt has been cancelled because Jesus died in our place.

We are forgiven when we accept that He has died in our place, for our sins. Salvation is not something we earn through good deeds or bargain for, in exchange for promising to improve. God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son Jesus Christ whom He loves.

The Greek word for adoption to sonship is a legal term referring to the full legal standing of an adopted male heir in Roman culture. When we surrender our lives to Christ and accept the fact that He bore our sins in His own body at The Cross, and when we declare Him as our Lord and Saviour, at that moment we are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Thank You Jesus that You paid for my sins, and they have been canceled. You paid a very high price for me, your blood. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can forgive others and to forgive myself. Please help others to forgive me. Strengthen me Lord so that I continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour, and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 27 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 23 - I am hidden with Christ in God. I have been justified

 

You died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God, therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we are born again, of the spirit. Our love for sin fades and dies and our love for God is in Christ. God has justified us, or declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You God that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, and justified me according to the riches of Your grace and I now have peace with You God through my Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and that I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Abba Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I may die to this life and live a new real life hidden with Christ in You. I declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 26 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 22 - I am God's temple-I am complete in Christ

 

You are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

 انكم هيكل الله وروح الله يسكن فيكم.

وانتم مملوؤون فيه الذي هو راس كل رياسة وسلطان.

 

1 Corinthians 3:16, Colossians 2:10

 

Christ by His Spirit dwells in all true believers. Christians are set apart for God and His service. We are sacred to Him and must not do anything that would alienate ourselves from Him, or corrupt and pollute ourselves, and thereby make ourselves unfit for His use. We should detest, and avoid, what would defile God's temple.

 

We are in Jesus, made full. In Him dwells the fullness; being in Him, we are filled. We are complete in Him. We need nothing more. He, the head of all principality and power, supplies every need.

 

I invite you to join me in my prayer and to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Jesus that Your spirit dwells in me. Thank You Jesus that in You I am made full, and You supply all my needs. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can detest and avoid what would defile me. I am honoured to be God's temple and be sacred to You God, make me worthy to be of service to You. I pray in the Holy Name of Jesus who is the head of all principality and power. To Him be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
