April 28 Devotion - What Does God Really Want?

God our Savior wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6

God wants everyone to be ‘saved’. It is His desire. That is why He came down in the form of a man Jesus Christ to save us.

He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].

2 Corinthians 5:21

So how do we become saved?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

It is God’s desire that You and I be saved and everyone else to be saved. You and I have a role to help everyone be saved by telling them about the good news of the Gospel. Jesus asked us to spread the word and let people know about salvation through Jesus Christ. Two of the very important truths and messages that Jesus told us are:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

John14:6

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you

Matthew 28:19-20

So my friend we have a responsibility toward ourselves to make sure we are saved, and we have a responsibility toward others to help them know the truth and The Way to salvation: Jesus Christ. Whether they accept and when or whether they do not accept that is the role of The Holy Spirit.

We all need to do what God desires, it is not just up to Priests, Pastors, or Missionaries only, it is up to each and every Christian. Have you talked about Jesus to any nonbeliever, do you talk about Jesus when you are in the company of other Christians? It is the ‘Great Commission’ that Jesus gave us. The simplest thing you can do is forward these devotions or other devotions to someone, pray for them, share the devotions on your Facebook page, forward these emails. The alternatives in this high-tech age are immense. Let’s act on God’s desire as He wants all people to be saved, let’s communicate in the method you feel most at ease with. Direct, phone, tablet, or computer.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I do Your will, share Your Gospel, and help others to be saved. Lord, please sink this message deep into my heart and help me achieve Your desire. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

In Him,

My God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 AMP

We have needs in many areas: spiritual, emotional, health wise, financial etc. To understand God’s supply please note that God is telling us through the Apostle Paul that our needs will be supplied "according to His riches in glory". So as an example in the financial area (and it applies to all other needs) the Bible verse does NOT say “according to the current economic status” but according to His riches in glory. The Lord is telling us He will supply ALL our needs this way. It is God's will to bless us abundantly in all our needs, but we have to believe that He will, wait patiently for His perfect timing and we have to:

.. seek first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

Mathew 6:33 AMP

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, You know all my needs and You have promised to provide them when I seek first Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness. I rejoice in the victorious thought that You are taking care of me, and You have never failed to keep any of Your promises. God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of my faith that by the power of The Holy Spirit I will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in God's promises. Romans 15:13 In Jesus’ mighty name I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

April 26 Devotion - Endurance

Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing; it is the ability to turn it into glory.

We have all probably discovered that the hardest times to remember the basic truths of God’s Word are during periods of pain or difficulty. With the right attitude we can make it a habit to view every situation through the filter of God’s perspective. As the duration of the difficult times extend the only way to endure and feel comforted is to rely on God and the support of The Holy Spirit.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose

Romans 8:28 AMP

If we believe that God will bring good out of the situation somehow, then pessimistic thinking finds no permanent home in our hearts. When we adopt the right attitude, over time, our emotions will gradually align with the truth, and we will be able to endure.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can have Your divine perspective and the right attitude. Lord, please keep me away from discouragement, worry, and self-sufficiency. Lord, please help me to focus on You instead of my circumstances so that I can endure. I know that when I am hurting it does not mean that You do not care about me. Your promises are true Lord, and I am confident that You will change all my circumstances to work for Your glory and my good, joy and peace. Abba Father, thank You that Your deep, unfailing, steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I will rejoice in The Lord. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

In Him,

April 22 Devotion - God is Spirit

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:24

God The Father is Spirit and is therefore omnipresent. He is present everywhere. We should worship Him due to His nature and perfection.  The nature of God is an eternal, immense and infinite Spirit. God is the creator of all spirits.

A. Worshipping in Spirit

I believe we would be considered worshipping God in spirit, when we are guided by The Holy Spirit, and we present our requests to the throne of God through our mediator Jesus Christ. Worshipping God must spring from the heart, through the influence of the Holy Spirit.

This is in accordance with [the terms of] the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him [that is, our faith gives us sufficient courage to freely and openly approach God through Christ]

Ephesians 3:11-12 AMP

B. Worshipping in Truth

We would be considered worshipping God in truth, when our worship is guided and regulated by The Word of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

John 1:1-4

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I may worship You in spirit and in truth. Let all my prayers Lord be guided by The Holy Spirit and by Your Word. Thank You God that I can present my prayers to Your throne of grace with boldness and confidence through faith in Your only begotten Son, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forever. Amen.

April 21 Devotion - Peace be with you

Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

John 20:19- 20

Not until the first day of the week had passed—in the evening—did Christ appear among the disciples as a group to establish their faith in His resurrection. Until then—all through that heartbreaking Sunday—the disciples doubted and were afraid. When it finally dawned upon them that Christ was alive, they "were overjoyed". That was a time of supreme rejoicing!

On this occasion Jesus opened the minds of these beloved men that they might understand the Scriptures.

Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things.”

Luke 24:46-48

Every day can be considered the day that The Lord appeared to the disciples, let us rejoice and be glad in it. The apostle Paul was able to say rejoice in The Lord always because he focused on Jesus not on all the troubles he had. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus so that we can always rejoice.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Jesus, his death and resurrection. Teach me Jesus to rejoice in Your peace and to keep my mind, eyes and thoughts on You. Bless me Lord with the ability to rejoice in You always. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can always declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. Thank You Father for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me and Your abundant blessings in my life. Lord, I trust You, praise You and glorify You, and submit to Your wisdom in all things. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

April 20 Devotion - Invitation from Christ

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

In this invitation Jesus is inviting several audiences. Those listening to Him and those who in years to come will remember His words and turn to Him. Those listening to Him were the Jews, who groaned under the weight of their ceremonial laws and the traditions of the elders. Jesus tells them that by coming to Him and embracing His teachings they would be freed from these burdensome rites and rituals and be saved through grace because He will give them rest. Jesus also addresses those who are burdened by sin amongst the listeners and along the ages to come, which includes us. We will find relief when we come to Him,

believe in Him, trust Him, and Him only, for salvation. When we do this, He will give us rest - rest from our sins, from the pain of guilt, from the terrors of the law, and from the fears of eternal death. Jesus also invites all of us who are burdened by the challenges and the tribulations of the world to come to Him and lay our ‘problems’ at His feet and seek His rest, peace, and joy.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus, I accept Your invitation to put all my worries and problems at the feet of Your cross. I know that You will give me rest, peace, joy, victory, and fill my heart with Your love, for You died for the forgiveness of my sins and to redeem me and declare me righteous in the eyes of The LORD. Help me Jesus to ‘come’ to You. Thank You Jesus that You are my salvation. Abba Father, I pray to You in the holy name of Jesus. To Jesus be the glory, the power, the dominion, the majesty, and the blessings forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

In Him,

April 19 Devotion - Jesus' Resurrection

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Peter, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once.

1 Corinthians 15: 3-5

The fact that Jesus rose from the dead is vital to Christians because our justification depends on it.

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Romans 4:25

A dead Saviour cannot save, but we have a living Saviour who justifies us and makes intercession for us.

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them

Hebrews 7:25

Although different denominations differ on the date of the resurrection of Christ because they use different calendars, Jesus’ resurrection is not a denominational issue or a point for theological debate. Either we believe Christ rose from the dead and ascended to heaven or we do not. If we reject His victory over the grave, we deny ourselves a place in eternity.

Believing that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead is essential for Christians, because merely recognizing that He died for our sins is not enough; we must accept His resurrection in order to receive eternal life. Christ paid our debt, but His sacrifice on the cross means nothing if He possesses no power over the grave. In vanquishing evil and death, the Lord made our salvation possible. Jesus’ resurrection proved He was able to remove sin and its penalty.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour, and I know that I know that I know in my heart that God raised You from the dead. Jesus, I thank you for saving me through your atoning death on The Cross and Your resurrection , and for making me righteous in the eyes of God our Father. Thank You Jesus, that because I believe in Your resurrection, I am granted eternal life. Abba Father, thank You for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your holy name. I pray in Jesus’ holy name to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,

April 15 Devotion - Good Friday - The Cross

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death.

Acts 2:20-23

Christ's suffering on the cross was fore-ordained and was the only payment of our debt that God would accept—this is the great sacrifice on which the eternal life of believers depends. If Christ had not gone to the cross and suffered in our place, the just for the unjust, there would not have been a spark of hope for us. There would have been a mighty chasm between us and God, which no man ever could have crossed.

Please listen and watch: https://youtu.be/MPmGcridHQ8

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord thank You for loving me so much that You let Your Son die on the cross to redeem me, a sinner. As Jesus said: Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 God, I thank You, praise You, glorify You and lift you up on high. Strengthen me Lord through The Holy Spirit, so that that I may walk in such a way that is fully pleasing to You and is fruitful in every good work. Thank You Jesus for dying in my place and that through The Cross I am redeemed, forgiven, justified, reconciled to God, sanctified, and glorified. In Your Holy Name Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, I pray.  To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 14 Devotion - Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper

When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 15 Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.”

Luke 22: 14-20

Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

John 6:53-58

The flesh and blood of the Son of man, denote the Redeemer in the nature of man; Christ and Him crucified, and the redemption created by Him, with all the precious benefits of redemption; pardon of sin, acceptance with God, the way to the throne of grace, the promises of the covenant, and eternal life. These are called the flesh and blood of Christ because they are purchased by the breaking of His body, and the shedding of His blood. Also, because they are food and drink to our souls.

Eating this flesh and drinking this blood means believing in Christ. We partake of Christ and His benefits by faith. The soul that rightly knows its state and wants, finds whatever can calm the conscience, and promote true holiness, in The Redeemer, God manifest in the flesh. Meditating upon the Cross of Christ gives life to our repentance, love, and gratitude. We live by Him, as our bodies live by our food. We live by Him, as the members by the head, the branches by the root: because He lives (resurrected) we shall live also. (Adapted from Mathew Henry’s explanation of the Bible).

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for the riches of Your grace upon my life which allows me to be forgiven through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on my behalf. Through Your redemption Jesus I also receive the precious benefits of redemption, pardon of sin, acceptance with God, the way to the Throne of Grace, the promises of the covenant, and eternal life. Thank You Jesus for suffering on my behalf, I believe in You and declare You my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for Your body which is given for us and for the new covenant of grace through Your blood which was shed for us. God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your Holy Name. Thank You Father for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, and Your abundant blessings in my life. Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP) Amen.

 Jesus loves you.

In Him,

April 12 Devotion - CLAIM GOD'S BLESSINGS

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

Ephesians 1:3

Please notice that this verse is in the past tense. The Apostle Paul wrote that Jesus Christ already has made all these blessings available to those who believe in Him. He did not say that God is going to bless us with spiritual blessings once we are in heaven, or even once we fulfill certain duties, roles, or commands.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me and Your abundant blessings in my life. Lord, You have already provided for all my needs and made them available to me through Christ Jesus. Teach me to claim them, and receive them, through faith, prayer, and total belief that I will receive them. My Heavenly Father, give me the inner vision of having already received them and the patience to wait for Your right timing. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the majesty, the power and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,
