May 30 Devotion - Renew my Strength

We need to ask for the aid and direction of the Holy Spirit to succeed in our spiritual growth, His service, our daily walk with Him, and in our daily lives on earth. The waiting in the above verse is meant to be the kind of waiting as attending to. We need to attend to the Lord in the midst of our weakness. We need to worship Him, listen to His guiding Holy Spirit, be obedient to Him and find His strength in our love for Him.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please renew my strength and give me the ability to always attend to You, fill me to abundance with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to soar like an eagle over my disappointments and everything that is broken in my life. Thank You Father God that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

May 25 Devotion - Salvation through Jesus Christ

God, our Savior, wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6

God wants everyone to be ‘saved’. It is His desire. That is why He came down in the form of a man Jesus Christ to save us. So how do we become saved?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

It is God’s desire that You and I be saved and everyone else to be saved. You and I have a role to help everyone know the good news of the Gospel. Jesus asked us to spread the word and let people know about salvation through Jesus Christ. Two of the very important truths and messages that Jesus told us are:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

John14:6

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you

Matthew 28:19-20

So my friend we have a responsibility toward ourselves to accept the gift of Salvation offered to us by the grace of God and we have a responsibility toward others to help them know the truth and The Way to salvation: Jesus Christ. Whether they accept and when or whether they do not accept that is the role of The Holy Spirit.

We all need to do what God desires, it is not just up to Priests, Pastors or Missionaries only, it is up to each and every Christian. Have you talked about Jesus to any nonbeliever, do you talk about Jesus when you are in the company of other Christians? It is the ‘Great Commission’ that Jesus gave us. The simplest thing you can do is forward these devotions or other devotions to someone, pray for them, share the devotions on your Facebook page, forward these emails. The alternatives in this high-tech age are immense. Let’s act on God’s desire as He wants all people to be saved, communicate in the method you feel most at ease with. Direct, phone, tablet, or computer.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can help others know about salvation through Jesus Christ. I know that this is Your will and I know that I can do it through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. Lord, please sink this message deep into my heart and help me achieve Your desire. Thank You Father God for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

May 24 Devotion - Always look forward

Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.

Luke 9:62

Jesus told His disciples that anyone who puts his hands to the plow and then looks back at what their life might have been if they had not put their hands on the plow is not fit for the Kingdom of God.

When we start our journey of faith by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we should never look back. When we are fully committed to Christ, we will be committed to His mission. Jesus was committed to the Father’s mission, even to the point of death on The Cross for the remission of our sins.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I praise You for Your work in my life. Jesus, I know that You are committed to me Lord, and I know that You have a purpose and a wonderful plan in store for me. Help me to stay obedient and committed to You and Your calling for my life. Give me wisdom and insight into my personal mission that You have chosen for me, and the strength to bring it to fruition. Father God, I praise You, glorify You, worship You, and lift You up on high. Thank You Lord for Your abundant blessings and for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love. In the mighty name of  Jesus, I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 23 Devotion - New Vessels

“No one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

Mark 2:22

There are many interpretations of this parable which Jesus told. I understand it to mean that we cannot conform to the teachings of Jesus unless we:

  • Renew our thinking and unlearn what the secular world has taught us; and continues to teach us.
  • Allow Jesus to heal the past and
  • Adopt Jesus’ way of thinking.

In order that Jesus can pour His teachings into our minds, we must first empty our saturated minds of the secular teachings. The same way that you cannot pour any new tea into a cup that is already full, the new tea will just end up in the saucer. However, if you empty the cup you can fill it with the new tea, or the good news, the Gospel, God’s amazing grace.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your unfailing, deep, and inseparable love for me.  Lord, help me today to become a new vessel. Help me through the Holy Spirit to release old thinking, old habits, old pains, secular beliefs, and anything that would keep me from being the best You created me to be. Strengthen me by Your Spirit O’ Lord and guide me so that I can live my life in a way that pleases You. Make me into a new vessel and pour Your Spirit into me Lord. Jesus You are the vine, and I am the branch, and I am nothing without You. Help me to abide in You. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son, The King of kings and Lord of lords, my Redeemer, Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, the power, the dominion, the majesty, and the blessings forever and ever. Amen.

May 20 Devotion - The Peace of God

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8

Trying circumstances often are the biggest inhibitors of experiencing the peace of God. The situation is in God’s hands. He is in control despite appearances. He is able to bring about the right solution, whenever and however He chooses.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that I can dwell in safety in You. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can carry out Your instructions ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5:7 and cast my burdens on You in prayer, to tell You what bothers me and robs my joy and peace, and to have a strong faith that You heard and will answer. I want to experience Your heavenly peace and sleep in Your safety. Heavenly Father, whenever the pressures mount, help me to remember that You have taken all my cares upon Yourself. I cast my anxiety and burdens on You, knowing that everything is in Your care. Thank You Lord for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. Amen.

May 19 Devotion - Keep Trusting God

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

1 Corinthians 2:9

“Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “ Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

God is telling us to forget any former feelings of being lost in the wilderness or stranded in the desert and our former tribulations and/or hurts and to behold His new roads in the wilderness and His rivers in the desert.

Let us rejoice, always rejoice, for God is preparing beautiful things for us. He tells us that they are beyond our imagination, and we have not seen anything like them before. Let us remember that God keeps His promises, and He is the creator of the universe. Let us choose to trust Him and Him alone.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for what I have and for what I do not have. I thank You for Your Mercy and for Your Grace. I put my future in Your hands because I trust You and I declare that I love You. I know that You always keep Your promises, and that You have prepared wonderful things for me and that they shall spring forth in Your perfect timing. Thank You Father God that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. In the mighty name of Jesus; my Lord and Saviour; I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May18 Devotion - Hearing God's Voice

Whoever is of God hears the words of God. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Moreover, he said to me, “Son of man, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart, and hear with your ears.  Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”

Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

John 8:47

John 10:27-28

Ezekiel 3:10

Isaiah 30:21-22

Psalm 119:105

I have often wondered: does God still speak to us today? If I listen, will He speak personally to me? The answer based on God’s grace is YES! God is always available to hear from us and I believe He wants us to hear His voice. God loves us and we need to love Him back so as to be able to hear His voice. His words may come from reading the scriptures, from a Godly friend or relative, from signs, from open doors, from closed doors, from dreams or visions, whichever way He chooses, He will speak to us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, You are my teacher and guide, teach me to listen and hear Your voice distinctively. I will be still and know that You are God Psalm 46:10 LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can have a strong faith that You will talk to me and I will hear You and obey Your will. You will show me the path of life Psalm 16:11 You will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; You will guide me with Your eye. Psalm 32:8 Let Your word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Abba Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your Holy Name. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

May 16 Devotion - Strong Weak People

Peter said to Him, Lord, why cannot I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.

38 Jesus answered, Will you [really] lay down your life for Me? I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me [completely disown Me] three times.

John 13:37-38

Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

John 14: 1

All the disciples must have been troubled about Jesus' predictions of betrayal, denial, and departure. After all, if Peter's commitment was shaky, then every disciple should be aware of his own weaknesses.

In the Greek, the pronoun your is plural; therefore, Jesus was speaking to Peter and to all the other disciples.

Jesus did not want his followers to imitate Peter's impulsive self-confidence. Potential weaknesses and possible failures trouble us. So we don't like to think about them. Peter denied his own frailty and claimed more faith than he had.

Jesus' solution for troubled hearts requires us to trust in Him. Trust does not mean pretending we are strong; it means recognizing our weakness and need for God's help. If we believe for a moment that we can follow Jesus in our own strength, we will fail as miserably as Peter.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that You have provided for my weakness by sending the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), The Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name [in Jesus’ place, to represent Him and act on His behalf], to teach me to trust in You and in Jesus and replace my troubled heart with Your peace. Lord, I admit my weakness and my need for the help of The Holy Spirit to comfort me strengthen me and give me wise counsel.  Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings and for the riches of Your grace. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

May 13 Devotion - During difficult times

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You;
And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge.

Psalm 57:1

We are all facing difficult times as we live through this pandemic, some more than others. In all difficult times we need to:

  1.  Depend on the fact that God’s character never changes.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

  1. Remember that God has helped us before in the past.

  1.  Increase our faith, obedience, and commitment to The LordDepend on God to comfort and reward us as He rewarded Abraham’s faith, rewarded Joshua’s obedience, and Daniel’s commitment.

  1.  Strengthen our hearts through God’s grace.

It is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace

Hebrews 13:9

Grace speaks of deliverance from affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation. Grace is God’s supernatural provision, and it overwhelms every obstacle.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, You are omnipotent and have unlimited power and are merciful, I take refuge especially during tough times under Your wings. Father, surround me and infill me with Your grace that overcomes every obstacle, every difficulty and dilemma. Thank You that You are merciful to me. My soul trusts in You. Thank You God that You are omnipresent, present in all places at all times throughout the ages and never change. Lord, I look at my past and I thank You for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I know that You will never leave me nor forsake me. I rest in the assurance that Your grace works every time. Father God, I praise You, lift You up on high, and glorify You. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Messiah, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

May 12 Devotion - TRUSTING GOD'S PLAN

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going

Hebrews 11:8

“These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, ….. He who opens and no one will [be able to] shut, and He who shuts and no one opens. I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut,

Revelation 3:7-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord’s plan for our life often involves different timing than we would choose. We want to move ahead so we can quickly arrive at our destination, however God who is all-knowing; sees when rushing would land us on our face.

Look back at your life and thank God, look forward and trust God. If He has opened the door you are pursuing, have no fear God will be with you in every step of the way until you reach your God planned destination.

Abram provided an illustration of what we should do and what we should not do. He followed what God told him to do and he gathered his family and friends and left his home and his comfort zone and followed where God was taking him not even knowing where he was going. A total and complete trust, which is what we should do. However, when famine threatened the land, he took matters into his own hands and traveled to Egypt without consulting God. He ended up going through many problems. Even a person of faith can resort to the “flesh” and respond from old thought patterns.

It is absolutely essential that we wait for the Lord. Even if we don’t understand His purpose, that is still no excuse for coming up with our own course of action. What situation in your life is tempting you to run ahead of your heavenly Father? Have patience. God is never late.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please give me patience, for I know You are never late. Keep me from acting in the flesh. Deliver me from old thought patterns. Thank You Lord that when You open a door nobody can close it. Lord show me the way. Thank you for knowing every emotion I go through and for having an answer and support for me today. Lord, I surrender to Your wisdom and knowledge and trust You in good times and in challenging times. Lord, I rejoice in the assurance that You are with me God wherever I am, that all things will work together for good for me, and that I will rejoice because Your peace God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your Holy Name. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 11 Devotion - When others mistreat us

We work [for our living], working hard with our own hands. When we are reviled (abused; attacked with evil words) and verbally abused, we bless. When we are persecuted, we take it patiently and endure.

1 Corinthians 4:12 AMP

Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing; it is the ability to turn it into glory. We have all probably discovered that the hardest times to remember the basic truths of God’s Word are during periods of pain or difficulty. With the right attitude we can make it a habit to view every situation through the filter of God’s perspective.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose

Romans 8:28 AMP

If we believe that God will bring good out of the situation somehow, then pessimistic thinking finds no permanent home in our hearts. When we adopt the right attitude, over time, our emotions will gradually align with the truth. Let us always remember that the Lord will give us His perspective if we ask Him to.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can have Your divine perspective and the right attitude. Lord, please keep me away from discouragement, worry, and self-sufficiency. Father God, please help me to focus on You instead of my circumstances. I know that when I am hurting it does not mean that You do not care about me. Your promises are true Lord, and I am confident that You will change all my circumstances to work for Your glory and my good, joy and peace. Abba Father, thank You for Your unfailing, deep, everlasting, and steadfast love for me. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I will rejoice in The Lord. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 6 Devotion - Part 5 - The Fruit of The Spirit - Gentleness (Meekness) and Self-Control

Gentleness (Meekness) is love as an expression of humility, considering the needs and hurts of others before one's personal goals.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Ephesians 4:2

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

1 Timothy 6:11

Self-control is love to be Spirit led so as not to indulge our sinful nature

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control

Proverbs 25:28

A fool always loses his temper, But a wise man holds it back.

Proverbs 29:11

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, teach me, help me, and strengthen me to be completely humble and gentle; to be patient, bearing others in love. Strengthen the walls of my spirit and body Lord by gifting me with self-control. Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings and Your unfailing and deep love for me.

O’ gracious and merciful God, fill my heart with the fruit of Your Holy Spirit. Father God, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus my Lord and Saviour to whom be power and glory forever and ever. Amen.
