July 29 Devotion - Suffering leads to HOPE

 

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, ⁴ endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me.  Lord, please grant me out of the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through Your Spirit in my inner self, indwelling my innermost being and personality so that I can convert any suffering in my life to an increased hope through an increase in my perseverance level, and improvement and strength in my character. God, I rejoice in the fact that all things will work for good in my life. Romans 8:28 Help me Lord to always have an attitude of gratitude. July 27 Devotion - It is ALL from God

 

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

1 Corinthians 4:7

 

Although we all want to feel good about ourselves, let us immediately recognize that everything we have is from God. Whatever blessings, beginning with our talents, our intelligence, our ability to speak languages, our successes, our wealth and going all the way to our salvation is from God. Whatever spiritual gifts we have are from God. Your voice, her organizational abilities, his preaching abilities, my writing abilities, and these devotions they are all from God, lest anyone should boast.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your deep and everlasting love for me. July 13 Devotion - Love God with All your soul

 

Part 2: With all your soul

 

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment

وتحب الرب الهك من كل قلبك ومن كل نفسك ومن كل فكرك ومن كل قدرتك هذه هي الوصية الاولى

Mark 12:30

 

The soul is the place where we make our decisions and choices that ultimately decide our behaviour (Some texts confuse soul and spirit; they are not the same.) If we treasure our relationship with the Lord our choices and behaviour will reflect that.

To bring my life (ship) in from the storm, the rudder (my choices and behaviour ) needs to be my love for God with all my soul. How do I do that? Jesus teaches me that:

 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

ان كنتم تحبونني فاحفظوا وصاياي .

 

John 14:15

So, my love for God with all my soul will be demonstrated by my choices and behaviour in keeping His commandments in my life, and the rudder of my ship is controlled by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Abba Father, please help me and teach me to make the right decisions and choices. Strengthen me Lord to keep Your commandments and to love You with all my soul by living in a way that pleases You and is based on Your Word O’Lord. July 12 Devotion - Love God with All your heart

 

Part 1: With all your heart

 

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment

وتحب الرب الهك من كل قلبك ومن كل نفسك ومن كل فكرك ومن كل قدرتك هذه هي الوصية الاولى

Mark 12:30

 

When Jesus laid out the most important commandment for humanity, He started with loving the Lord with ALL our heart. I often wondered how I can love Jesus with all my heart.

The heart is where we keep our emotions, cares, and desires. The rudder of my ship is my cares and desires.

To bring my life (ship) in from the storm, the rudder (my cares and desires) needs to be my love for God with all my heart.

 

How do I do that? Jesus teaches me that:

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:21

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can make You my undisputed treasure. Help me to have the discipline of spending time with You daily and give me the gift of treasuring this time and rejoicing to be in Your presence. Lord, I thank you for your abundant blessings and for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love. I praise You and glorify You. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. July 8 Devotion - Jesus is The Good Shepherd

 

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الرَّبَّ هُوَ اللهُ . هُوَ صَنَعَنَا وَنَحْنُ لَهُ، نَحْنُ شَعْبُهُ وَقَطِيعُ مَرْعَاهُ.

Psalm 100:3

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

أَنَا الرَّاعِي الصَّالِحُ، وَالرَّاعِي الصَّالِحُ يَبْذِلُ حَيَاتَهُ فِدَى خِرَافِهِ.

John 10:11 

God has always provided for His people through his unlimited resources. What a fantastic feeling it is to know that God’s love for us is so infinite that Jesus laid down His life to redeem us.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that Your power is absolute. Your provision is the alpha and the omega; it extends from the provision for the body to the provision of eternity. Thank You Lord that You always provide for me. July 5 Devotion - In times of weakness

 

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

 فقال لي تكفيك نعمتي لان قوتي في الضعف تكمل.فبكل سرور افتخر بالحري في ضعفاتي لكي تحل علي قوة المسيح.

2 Corinthians 12:9

 

Our prayers are not always answered in the form in which we desire; however they are answered in the assurance of grace sufficient to support us. Grace signifies the good-will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten, strengthen and comfort us in all our afflictions and/or distresses.

 

I believe that one of the reasons why our prayers are not always answered in the way we requested may be that the grace that will be received if the calamity is not removed will be of greater value to the individual than would be the direct answer to his/her prayer.

 

When we feel weak, we need to go to Christ and enjoy His supplies of divine strength and grace.

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can respond prayerfully in times of weakness. Show me the purpose of what I am facing Lord, and shower me with Your divine grace, wisdom, and strength. Show me how to handle the situation according to Your will for my life. Lord, please increase my love for You, my trust in You, and my dependence on You. Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings and Your deep and everlasting love for me. July 4 Devotion - In The Son, not under the Sun

 

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done
      And on the labor in which I had toiled;
      And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind.
      There was no profit under the sun.

 ثم التفت انا الى كل اعمالي التي عملتها يداي والى التعب الذي تعبته في عمله فاذا الكل باطل وقبض الريح ولا منفعة تحت الشمس

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

  انا هو الطريق والحق والحياة .ليس احد يأتي الى

Abba Father, please give me wisdom to learn from King Solomon who ‘became great and excelled more than all who were before him’ yet found everything under the sun to be ‘vanity and grasping for the wind’. Change my focus O’Lord from earthly glory to spiritual glory IN Your Son Jesus. I come to You Father in the name of Your Son Jesus acknowledging, declaring and confessing that Jesus is The way, The truth, and The life and that no one can come to You Father except through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Strengthen me Jesus and teach me to be content under all circumstances as You taught the Apostle Paul and to be able to face any situation with the belief that ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’. Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory and the power and the dominion before all time, now, and forevermore. Amen.
