October 31 Devotion - Jesus loves you

May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, 18 be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love];

Ephesians 3:16-18 Amplified Bible (AMP)

God had a plan for humanity to give us a hope and a guarantee to meet God’s expectations of us through Jesus Christ. God is giving us power through His Spirit to dwell in our hearts through our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour; who died for the forgiveness of our sins; and we make Jesus Lord of our lives by being deeply rooted in His love. We need to live a life of committed believers constantly examining ourselves and repenting of any area in our lives that is not pleasing to God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please help me Lord to be deeply rooted in love and to be able to comprehend the width and length and height and depth of Jesus’ love for me and to fully experience His amazing, endless love. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith, and I am strengthened and spiritually energized by being deeply grounded in His love. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: point out anything in me that offends You and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Thank You Father God for loving me with a deep, inseparable, steadfast and everlasting love. Thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I pray to You Father in the holy name of Jesus, my Lord and Saviour. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion since the beginning of time, now, and forevermore. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

October 27 Devotion- Praising God

It is a good thing to give thanks unto The Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful to him, and bless his name. I will sing of mercy and judgment: to you, O LORD, will I sing. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

When things are going our way Praise seems to be a natural part of what we want to do. However, on the days when we face problems, challenges, and bad news it is much more difficult to show or express gratitude, pleasure, or approval in an unrestrained or heartfelt manner.

God understands how our emotions are built; He made them. He also knows that praise is the cure for a heart weighed down by concerns, worries, and fears.

Praise helps us to focus our attention on God. When we take a long and deliberate look at the character and ways of the Lord Jesus who loved us enough to die for us, our eyes are naturally shifted away from the difficulty and onto His ability to care for us.

Praise increases our faith. Telling God what we love about Him always involves reciting His past actions of might and power on our behalf. You can look back at the times He sent special provision at just the right moment and thank Him for them. This process results in a heart that expands with joy and security in Him.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that when fears, irritations and concerns come my way today, I can praise You. Enable me to look at Your provision in the past and rejoice at what You will do in the future. Jesus, You said “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, inseparable and everlasting love. God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high and glorify Your Holy Name. Lord, I praise Jesus who has called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. In the mighty name of Jesus; my Lord and Saviour; The King of kings and Lord of lords, in the holy name of Your only begotten Son Jesus, I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the authority, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

October 26 Devotion - Living Water

Jesus had to go through Samaria. Jesus sat down by Jacob’s well in a town called Sychar as He was thirsty. His disciples had gone into the town to buy food. A Samaritan woman came to draw water and Jesus spoke to her even though at the time Jews did not associate with Samaritans. He asked her for a drink of water. She was astonished that Jesus spoke to her and Jesus responded by saying:

“If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

Jesus answered,

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

  John 4:10-13

The Samaritan woman looked at the natural possibilities. How can this man give me water when he does not even have any utensil to put water in or method to draw water from the well.

Unfortunately, some of us are still doing the same today. We look at the natural even though we know Jesus. The Samaritan woman did not know who Jesus was when she asked the question. But we know who He is but still fall into the same trap.  We know that God can do miracles but many times we do not believe Him when He says He will do great things in our lives.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love and for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I do not want to look at the natural. I want to look at the supernatural, the realm You operate in. Help me Lord to focus on You, not on my circumstances. Increase my faith O’Lord and show me Your ways. Help me to believe beyond any doubt all Your promises. Jesus, please give me Your water and make it become in me a spring of water welling up to eternal life. Jesus help me to become more and more Christ like on a daily basis. In Your Holy Name Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 25 Devotion - Who is Jesus to you?

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.

 Matthew 16:13-17

Many people think that Jesus was: A Prophet, a good teacher, a wise man who had powers. We hear rumblings from ‘The New Age’ followers that he was a man who managed to get in touch with his inner resources and was able to perform miracles because of that.

Jesus for me is:

  • The way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way to The Father God, John 14:6
  • The light of the world, The Son of God, Luke 22:70
  • He is the bread of life, John 6:35
  • He has all authority in heaven and on earth, Mathew 28:18
  • He had a sinless life, John 8:46
  • Jesus Christ has the power to forgive sins and provide everlasting life John 11:25, Luke 5:20-21
  • He is coming back Matthew 24:27-30
  • He is my Saviour and Lord over my Life

So the question begging an answer from you is: Who is Jesus to you?

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my innermost being and personality, so that I can always follow Jesus and be obedient to His teachings and be able to forgive, to love those who I find are hard to love, to submit to Your authority over my life, to get rid of all dissention, and anything that is displeasing to The Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray that everyone will be able to know Jesus in the way You know Him God. Thank You Father God, for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, inseparable and everlasting love. Lord, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. Father, I pray to You in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour, to whom be honour, glory, majesty, authority, and power forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

October 24 Devotion - Renew Your Mind

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs] but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

 Romans 12:2

Mathew Henry comments: ‘Conversion and sanctification are the renewing of the mind; a change, not of the substance, but of the qualities of the soul. The progress of sanctification, dying to sin more and more, and living to righteousness more and more, is the carrying on this renewing work, till it is perfected in glory. The great enemy to this renewal is, conformity to this world.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and that You want to revolutionize my mind as well as my spirit. Help me and teach me to change my thinking so that it will change my ways and attitude. Through the supernatural change agent; The Holy Spirit; change O Lord all my paradigms and entrenched mental configurations. I pray that You make me willing to change. I know that You began the transformation in my life when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and am confident that You will carry it through on to completion. Father God, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. In Jesus’ name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,

October 17 Devotion - The Storms of Life

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Anxiety distracts the mind from communion with God. ‘Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow…but empties today of its strength’ (Charles Spurgeon)

The word nothing means it excludes any reason. No reason is exempt, and we are not allowed to worry about anything. This means that we are to pray about everything. Through thankful prayer we can declare to God our anxious thoughts and have faith that He will fill our hearts and mind with His peace when we leave our anxieties at The Cross.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, You know exactly where I am emotionally and mentally and I know as per Jesus’ promise You will comfort me. Help me to practice growing still before You Lord. I dwell on Your goodness knowing You never fail me. Father God, I believe that sometimes You do allow the pressures of life to build so that I can learn how to deal with them from a position of faith and not fear. Thank You for not condemning me for my feelings, and for providing wisdom for all I face. Strengthen me so as not to feel anxious and to be always thankful so that Your peace which surpasses all comprehension, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,

October 14 Devotion - God chose us in Christ

Even as [in His love] He chose us [picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Ephesians 1:4, John10:10 Amplified Bible

As believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour; according to the above scripture; God chose us before the world was formed, He knew us.

We are called to a fullness of life which far exceeds the dimensions of our earthly existence, because it consists in sharing the very life of God.

Not only has He chosen us, but He has equipped us with everything we need to live His abundant life. To be all that God has called us to be, we must see ourselves as chosen, valuable, and victorious.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that You have picked me as Your own in Christ even before the foundation of the earth and that through Christ’s blood You consider me blameless in Your sight. Help me Lord to understand my value as it stems from You and to rise higher and higher into the abundant life of victory and joy You have prepared for me. Father, help me to see myself as chosen, valuable and victorious. Lord, show me Your ways that I may be holy (consecrated and set apart for You) and walk with You in confidence and trust all the days of my life. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

In Him,

October 13 Devotion- Ordered Steps

The steps of a good man/woman are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his/her way.

Psalm 37:23

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Psalm 32:8

We all need God’s support; even the most powerful must be supported by the Lord, without His support their strength and courage will be of no avail.

When we seek God and surrender to Jesus as our Lord and Saviour; our steps are established by The LORD, and we will delight in His choice for our lives. God will teach us and guide us with His eye upon us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, by Your grace and The Holy Spirit, establish and guide my steps. Help me to stay in faith and put You first in my life. I trust that You are at work in my life even during times when I don't understand it. I am confident that Your guidance has placed me where I am supposed to be right now. Give me the strength and courage to do what is right in Your sight to Your delight. Thank You that Through Your grace and mercy You care so much about every detail of my life. Thank You Father for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His mighty name. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 12 Devotion - Joy Fulfilled

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves….

20I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.”

John 17:9, 20

Jesus is praying for you and me and for all other believers who have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. He is requesting from The Father that we may experience Jesus’ joy fulfilled in us, and that Jesus’ enjoyment be perfected in our souls. He requests that our hearts be filled with His gladness.

Feeling joyful is what everyone wants, and we believers should be the most joyful, for our salvation is guaranteed through Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Thank You Jesus for praying for me to The Father. Heavenly Father I long to experience Jesus’ delight fulfilled in me, and Jesus’ enjoyment perfected in my soul. I long to have my heart filled with His gladness. Fill me God totally and envelop me with Your Grace, so that I can feel an inner joy independent of circumstances. Jesus You said: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11 Jesus I long for and pray that Your Joy remains in me and that my Joy be full and that I always rejoice in You. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I thank You and adore You. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 11 Devotion - Trusting God

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

Joshua 1:9, 2 Samuel 7:28, Psalms 9:10, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 13:5

There are many reasons why we can trust God:

He is the one, true God (2 Samuel 7:21–22)

He is the essence of truth (Hebrews 6:17–18)

He is absolutely faithful (Lamentations 3:23)

He has all power (Matthew 28:18)

He loves you unconditionally (John 15:9)

       He never changes (Hebrews 13:8).

When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You. In God, whose word I praise; In God I have put my trust; I shall not fear. What can mere man do to me?

Psalm 56:3-4

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, great is Thy faithfulness. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can trust You with an unconditional trust that allows me to have the patience to wait for Your deliverance. Jesus please teach me to repose all my cares and my load onto Your shoulders. Lord, I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. Help me to trust in You Lord with all my heart, and not to depend on my own understanding. Hear my prayers O’Lord, In Jesus’ name I pray. ‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

Jesus loves you,

In Him,
