August 29 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 16 - I am established, anointed, sealed by God

 

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, ²² who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

 وَلكِنَّ الَّذِي يُثَبِّتُنَا مَعَكُمْ فِي الْمَسِيحِ، وَقَدْ مَسَحَنَا، هُوَ اللهُ 22الَّذِي خَتَمَنَا أَيْضًا وَأَعْطَى عَرْبُونَ الرُّوحِ فِي قُلُوبِنَا.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

 

The objective of this verse is to trace all to God, and to prevent the appearance of self-confidence, or of boasting. It was customary to anoint kings, prophets, and priests on their entering into their office as a part of the ceremony of inauguration. It is applied often to the Messiah as being set apart, or consecrated to his office as prophet, priest, and King - that is, as appointed by God to the highest office ever held in the world. It is applied also to Christians as being consecrated, or set apart to the service of God by the Holy Spirit - a use of the word, which is derived from the sense of consecrating, or setting apart to the service of God. The word sealed is important here, because once we acknowledge Jesus as our Saviour and let Him dominate over our lives, we are saved, and our salvation is sealed and cannot be taken away from us.

I rejoice that as a believer I am being consecrated or set apart to the service of God by the Holy Spirit. August 28 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 15 - I cannot be separated from God’s love for me

 

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? ³⁷ No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

³⁸ And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. ³⁹ No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s love for His children, the ones who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour and made Him Lord over their lives, can never change or be altered by whatever means or circumstances. Nothing we can do can make God love us any more or any less —indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God for us that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

August 19 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 11 - I am free from any charge against me

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

 God justified us, which means He declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Abba Father, thank You that my DNA reveals that I as a follower of Your Son Jesus I am free from any charge against me. Thank You Jesus for Your crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, and for Your intercession on my behalf to God. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. To Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. August 16 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant

 

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

 

Philippians 3:20

 

فان سيرتنا نحن هي في السموات التي منها ايضا ننتظر مخلّصا هو الرب يسوع المسيح

 

Our citizenship, our thoughts, our affections, are already in heaven.  We must look unto the heavens expecting Christ’s return.

August 15 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 9 - I am free forever from condemnation

 

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2

 

اذا لا شيء من الدينونة الآن على الذين هم في المسيح يسوع السالكين ليس حسب الجسد بل حسب الروح.

2 لان ناموس روح الحياة في المسيح يسوع قد اعتقني من ناموس الخطية والموت.

In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul said: ‘So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin’ meaning that the Law could not affect deliverance from sin. In Romans 8 he states ‘There is, therefore, now’ deliverance and it is related to the gospel alone. This applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. God has justified us, or declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour. Because Christ has already endured the penalty of our sins and obeyed the precept of the Law in our behalf, there is no condemnation whatever, not only no final condemnation, but no condemnation now.

This does not mean a license to sin, on the contrary. By accepting Jesus as Lord over our lives the Spirit of God is conveyed into our hearts through The Holy Spirit, and we are delivered from sin.

 

Our union with Christ is compared to that between the vine and its branches John 15:1-6, and hence, we believers are in Him in a similar sense, as deriving our support from Him, and as united in feeling, in purpose, and destiny. Out of love for Jesus and through the Holy Spirit we live in obedience to God.

August 14 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 8 - I am a member of the body of Christ

 

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

1 Corinthians 12:27

واما انتم فجسد المسيح واعضاؤه افرادا.

 

The Church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head. The Apostle Paul states the truth that the church is one, as the body is one, yet has many members, so is it with the church. The body has many members, and no members in the body are useless, but all perform important parts, however unimportant they may seem to be; and no one member can say that it has no need of the others. So it is in the church. As members of The Church of Christ (global) all believers are members of the body of Christ.

August 13 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 7 - I am the salt & light of the earth

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

انتم ملح الارض .ولكن ان فسد الملح فبماذا يملح .لا يصلح بعد لشيء الا لان يطرح خارجا ويداس من الناس .

14 انتم نور العالم .لا يمكن ان تخفى مدينة موضوعة على جبل .

Matthew 5:13-14

Please note that Jesus never challenges us to become salt or light. He simply says that we are - and we are either fulfilling or failing that responsibility. Salt is needed because the world is rotting and decaying and if our Christianity is also rotting and decaying, it won't be any good. Light is needed because the world is in darkness, and if our Christianity imitates the darkness, we have nothing to show the world. To be effective we must seek to be Christlike in everything we say and do all the time.

Abba Father, I pray that You make me more and more like Your Son so that I can fulfill the responsibility of being the salt and the light to everyone I am in contact with even if it is virtual in these social distancing times. August 12 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a personal witness of Christ

 

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

 

Acts 1:8

 

لكنكم ستنالون قوة متى حل الروح القدس عليكم وتكونون لي شهودا في اورشليم وفي كل اليهودية والسامرة والى اقصى الارض

We each have a role to talk about the good news and the truth about Jesus to all those who do not believe and/or do not know the good news and the truth. Do you know anyone whom you can help? Even if you just forward devotions to them, that is a beginning.

 

Here is the good news:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

August 8 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a saint (set apart for God)

 

To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus.

To the church of God, which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

، إِلَى الْقِدِّيسِينَ الأُمَنَاءِ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي أَفَسُسَ.

إِلَى الَّذِينَ تَقَدَّسُوا فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، الْمَدْعُوِّينَ، الْقِدِّيسِينَ؛ وَإِلَى جَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ بِاسْمِ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ رَبّاً لَهُمْ وَلَنَا.

 

Ephesians 1:1, 1 Corinthians 1:2.

The word “saint” comes from the Greek word “Hagios”, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious.” The idea of the word “saints” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His Kingdom. Therefore, scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christian believers are considered saints in The bible and at the same time are called to be saints. Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to match their position more closely in Christ. This is the biblical description and calling of the saints. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith as Lord and Saviour is a saint.

August 7 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am bought with a price

 

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s, knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

1 Corinthians 6:20, 1 Peter 1:18-19

 

لانكم قد اشتريتم بثمن.فمجّدوا الله في اجسادكم وفي ارواحكم التي هي لله عالمين انكم افتديتم لا باشياء تفنى بفضة او ذهب من سيرتكم الباطلة التي تقلدتموها من الآباء

 بل بدم كريم كما من حمل بلا عيب ولا دنس دم المسيح

Apart from the blood of Christ, you and I could not have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Jesus’ sacrificial death made it possible for sinful man to approach Holy God. Because of His blood, believers are redeemed, forgiven, justified, and sanctified.

Our obligation toward our redeemer is in proportion to the price which is paid for our redemption. A price far more valuable than any amount of silver or gold had been paid for our redemption and we are under proportionate obligation to devote ourselves to His service. Believers are redeemed by the life of the Son of God offered in their behalf; and between the value of the life of The Son of God and silver and gold there is no comparison.

August 5 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am united with the Lord

 

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

1 Corinthians 6:17

 

واما من التصق بالرب فهو روح واحد.

 

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour we have the same spirit, in measure, which Christ our Mediator with God has without measure. We have the Spirit of God, as a spirit of faith and holiness and of adoption. We are also sealed for eternity.
