I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)
I am free from any charge against me (Rom. 8:31-34)
I am a minister of reconciliation for God (2 Cor.5:17-21)
I have access to God through the Holy Spirit (Eph 2:18)
I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms (Eph. 2:6)
I cannot be separated from the love of God (Rom.8:35-39)
I am established, anointed, sealed by God (2 Cor.1:21-22)
I am assured all things work together for good (Rom. 8: 28)
I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit (John 15:16)
I may approach God with freedom and confidence (Eph. 3: 12)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13)
I am the branch of the true vine, a channel of His life (John 15: 1-5)
I am God's temple (1 Cor. 3: 16).  I am complete in Christ (Col. 2: 10)
I am hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3).  I have been justified (Romans 5:1)
I am God's co-worker (1 Cor. 3:9; 2 Cor 6:1).  I am God's workmanship (Eph. 2:10)
I am confident that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected (Phil. 1: 5)
I have been redeemed and forgiven (Col. 1:14).  I have been adopted as Gods child (Eph 1:5)
I belong to God

تُحَرَّرَ هِيَ أَيْضاً مِنْ عُبُودِيَّةِ الْفَسَادِ إِلَى حُرِّيَّةِ الْمَجْدِ الَّتِي لأَوْلاَدِ اللهِ.   

Romans 8:21

Does this apply to everyone? I believe it applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross, and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. At that moment they are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 16 Devotion - Rejoice Today

.

هذا هو اليوم الذي صنعه الرب. نبتهج ونفرح فيه.

This is the day the LORD has made;
         We will rejoice and be glad in it.

 Psalm 118:24

Today is a gift. That is why they call it the ‘present’. Rejoice in it.

The Greek word in the Bible for ‘joy’ is ‘chara’ and the verb is ‘charein’ which is often translated ‘to rejoice’. Closely related is the word ‘charis’ which is translated to be ‘grace’.

I explore this to present my point that it is ‘Charis’ that produces ‘Chara’ or in English, it is ‘Grace’ that produces ‘Joy’. Understanding the word of God increases our appreciation of His Grace, and our feeling of Joy.

 

I always wondered and struggled for years to understand how the Apostle Paul was feeling joy while being held prisoner in a dungy Roman prison cell and how from there he told us to:

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

افْرَحُوا فِي الرَّبِّ دَائِماً، وَأَقُولُ أَيْضاً: افْرَحُوا.

Philippians 4:4

My realization is that The Apostle Paul felt God’s grace so powerfully that it overshadowed all the negative feelings of being chained in a Roman prison to the point that he actually felt joy.

Jesus said:

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

كلمتكم بهذا لكي يثبت فرحي فيكم ويكمل فرحكم

John 15:11

All through the Bible we see evidence of God wanting us to be joyful, irrespective of the situation. Let’s concentrate on God’s grace and the magnitude of His love for us expressed through His grace and that on its own is reason enough for quantum joy.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You that You gave me today as a present for me to rejoice in. I praise You, I thank You, I glorify You and I rejoice in You. Fill me God totally and envelop me with Your Grace, so that I can feel an inner joy independent of circumstances. Jesus I long for and pray that Your Joy remain in me and that my Joy be full and that I may always have the Fruit of The Spirit, Joy, bubbling within me. Hallelujah. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 15 Devotion - The New Testament

The word testament—as used in the biblical Old and New Testaments—originates from the Greek word for covenant.

According to Bible professor Charles Ryrie, “The word covenant meant an arrangement made by one party which the other party involved could accept or reject but not alter.”

It is an arrangement made by God which we can accept or reject, but we cannot alter the arrangement that we are only saved through the shed blood of Jesus. When we accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour we are born again, a spiritual birth, and we are filled with the Holy Spirit and sealed forever as children of God.

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

فَإِنَّ هَذَا هُوَ دَمِي الَّذِي لِلْعَهْدِ الْجَدِيدِ وَالَّذِي يُسْفَكُ مِنْ أَجْلِ كَثِيرِينَ لِمَغْفِرَةِ الْخَطَايَا.

                                                           Mathew 26:28

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, lest anyone should boast.

اجاب يسوع وقال له الحق الحق اقول لك ان كان احد لا يولد من  فوق لا يقدر ان يرى ملكوت الله.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You for loving me so much that You sent Jesus to die for my sins. I accept Your Son as Lord and Saviour. I accept Your new covenant joyously and thank You for Your grace and mercy. Lord, please strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can always be aware that I am saved through Your grace and that I can never be worthy on my own of being Your child except through the atoning blood of Jesus. January 14 Devotion - Do not put God in a box

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth…  

Jesus spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. ⁷ And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam”.  So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

John 9:1 - 9

 Jesus had healed people before by just touching them. So why did Jesus choose a new method? Why did Jesus spit and heal this blind man in this way?

Spit and dirt (clay) mixed and put on the eyes, does not sound very nice. Do you agree?  The blind man could have reacted by saying something like ‘How dare you spit on me and make my eyes full of mud, I thought you were going to heal me, not make me worse’. But he didn’t, he totally trusted Jesus and went to wash.  I have learnt that Archeologists say that Siloam; where the blind man had to go and wash; is very big with wide steps on 3 sides, where you need more courage and braveness to go into it.  But the blind man went and washed and was healed and could see for the first time.Some of my lessons learnt I should never put Jesus in a box, for His ways are totally different than our ways.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. Isaiah 55 I need to Trust in the LORD with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding Proverbs 3:5 What I want and pray for may not be what is best for me, or it may not be delivered in the fashion I am thinking about.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life. Help me to ‘see’ your ways and understand your thoughts. Lord, give me wisdom to not lean on my own understanding and strengthen me to trust You and follow You with all my heart and all my mind, soul and strength. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. January 11 Devotion - Our Sufficiency is from God

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.

ليس اننا كفاة من انفسنا ان نفتكر شيئا كانه من انفسنا بل كفايتنا من الله

2 Corinthians 3:5

 

All that we are is a gift from God. Our intelligence, success, abilities, health, etc. are a gift from God lest anyone should boast or become arrogant. We are not perfect yet and need God to constantly help us grow. We need God to do what He alone can do for us, in us, and through us.

When we feel less than adequate; our chant should never be ‘I cannot’ but our chant should be ‘With God’s grace and support, I can”

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life. Lord, my sufficiency is in You.

January 9 Devotion - Transformation

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

وَلِي ثِقَةٌ فِي هَذَا الأَمْرِ بِالذَّاتِ: أَنَّ الَّذِي بَدَأَ فِيكُمْ عَمَلاً صَالِحاً سَوْفَ يُتَمِّمُهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

 Philippians 1:6 

 

 

When we were born again by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit came to live within us. 

When we try to live the Christian life depending on our own strength, we fail. When we come to the conclusion that we cannot succeed on our own and surrender to The Holy Spirit, that is when we move from trying to trusting; and that transformation helps us to start flourishing in our Christian faith journey. Transformation as defined in the dictionary is the act of changing form. The Holy Spirit will continue to transform us to help us become more and more Christ-like till the day we meet Jesus in person.

Abba Father, thank You for your abundant blessings. Lord, I trust that The Holy Spirit within me is the only force that will make me able to live according to Your commandments. I acknowledge that I can do nothing apart from Christ. I trust that Jesus, who has started this Christian growth journey in my life, will continue to work in me to make me more like Him every day. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. January 8 Devotion - Wide Open Door

“I know your [record of] works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name.

إِنِّي عَالِمٌ بِأَعْمَالِكَ. فَمَعَ أَنَّ لَكَ قُوَّةً ضَئِيلَةً، فَقَدْ أَطَعْتَ كَلِمَتِي وَلَمْ تُنْكِرِ اسْمِي، وَلِذلِكَ فَتَحْتُ لَكَ بَاباً لاَ يَقْدِرُ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يُغْلِقَهُ.

Revelation 3:8

God opens the right doors in our lives. It is however possible that we find closed doors in our lives. Sometimes when events are not working our way, we blame God. Let us remember what is written in Proverbs 3:5-6:

 

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 

 

God knows the future, we don’t. He directs us through the doors that deliver His best.

Abba Father, Thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You for opening the right doors in my life and closing those that would not have allowed me to receive Your best blessings. Lord, I surrender to Your wisdom and knowledge in good times and in challenging times. Help me God to always keep Your word and to always glorify and praise Your name. Thank You Lord that no one can close the doors that You have opened. Please open the doors I need to walk through today. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. Merry Christmas to all my Family and Friends who celebrate Christmas on January 7

 

January 7 is Christmas Day for Orthodox Christians. Why? Because in A.D. 325, the church fathers set all holy days by the Julian calendar. But Pope Gregory XIII and his astronomers decided to adjust the calendar to accommodate leap years by dropping 10 days. And so in 1582, the 365.24-day Gregorian calendar that we use today was created.

Loving God, through the birth of Jesus, help us share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.

“For unto us a child is born,
Unto us a son is given,
And the government shall be upon His shoulder;
And His name shall be called,
Wonderful,
Counselor,
the mighty God,
the Everlasting Father,
the Prince of Peace.”

Amen.

January 4 Devotion - Our God of Restoration

Some of us, or all of us, may have had some or many disappointments in 2012; but instead of dwelling on the past and living in defeat, we can choose in this New Year to focus on Gods promises to us, because God wants to restore everything that's broken in our lives for He says:

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—

واعوض لكم عن السنين التي اكلها الجراد

Joel 2:25

He wants to restore our joy, our peace, our health, and our finances. There is however a way we have to follow in order to be able to receive God’s blessings, there is a key: each one of us has to visualize with clarity receiving the blessings and each one of us must:

be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

بل تغيّروا عن شكلكم بتجديد اذهانكم لتختبروا ما هي ارادة الله الصالحة المرضية الكاملة.

Romans 12:1-2

Today, let us choose to focus on the future and release past hurts through forgiveness. Let us proclaim that we are children of a loving God, a God of restoration.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You for choosing to restore my life. Thank You for the promises and truth of Your Word that set me free. Jesus strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can renew my mind today and visualize with clarity receiving all the blessings I desire which are in accordance with your will for my life. Father, all I need You have already provided for, please let me experience Your blessings and restore all the lost years which the locusts have eaten. Thank You for Your love for me. January 3 Devotion - Your name is inscribed on God's palm

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;

  15 هَلْ تَنْسَى الْمَرْأَةُ رَضِيعَهَا وَلاَ تَرْحَمُ ابْنَ أَحْشَائِهَا؟ حَتَّى هَؤُلاَءِ يَنْسَيْنَ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَلاَ أَنْسَاكُمْ.  16 انْظُرُوا هَا أَنَا قَدْ نَقَشْتُكِ ُ عَلَى كَفِّي.

Isaiah 49:15-16

 For thus says the LORD of hosts:… “For he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”

فَإِنَّ الرَّبَّ الْقَدِيرَ يَقُولُ ...'لأَنَّ مَنْ يَمَسُّكُمْ يَمَسُّ حَدَقَةَ عَيْنِهِ.'

Zechariah 2:8

God loves us so very much. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 and now the eyes of the Father are forever focused on us because of Christ’s atoning death on the cross for us.

 

God will never forget us; the followers of Christ; for He has inscribed our names on the palms of His Hands. Neither will He forget the church, the body of believers.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, forgive me if at times I feel that You have forgotten me. Increase my faith so as to know, believe, and trust that You never forget me. Thank You Lord for loving me so much that You consider that whoever touches me touches the apple of Your eye. January 2 Devotion - Goodness and Abundance- A prayer for 2013

You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.

كَلَّلْتَ السَّنَةَ بِجُودِكَ، وَآثَارُ صَنَائِعِكَ تَفِيضُ خِصْباً.

 Psalm 65:11

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

 

اسْكُنْ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ وَانْتَظِرْهُ بِصَبْر واذناك تسمعان كلمة خلفك قائلة هذه هي الطريق اسلكوا فيها حينما تميلون الى اليمين وحينما تميلون الى اليسار.

Psalm 37:7, Isaiah 30:21

 

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. God of my yesterdays, today, and my tomorrows; God of new beginnings and wonderful surprises, thank You for the gift of this New Year, 2013. I praise You and glorify You for Your unequaled greatness. I know, when Love came to the manger in Bethlehem, He came for me, so that I would be saved and have a more abundant life. God please crown 2013 with Your goodness. Lord make 2013 to be a year of grace and blessing for me, a time to grow in faith and love, a time to renew my commitment to following Your Son, Jesus.  God please teach me to rest in You Lord and wait patiently for Your goodness and abundance. Lord, please walk with me in every day and every hour of this New Year; make me hear your voice directing my path that the light of Christ would shine through me, in spite of my weaknesses and failings. I leave the irreparable past in your hands, and step out into 2013 depending on Your guidance to help me walk in Your paths that are dripping with abundance. I rejoice in Your gift of a new year and rejoice in what's ahead, depending on Your Holy Spirit to guide me and help me to do exactly what You want. Lord, please help me to bring all my thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ and to continue my journey to become Christ-like.In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray.
