September 12 Devotion - Eternal Life

The Father loves the Son and has given and entrusted all things into His hand. 36 He who believes and trusts in the Son and accepts Him [as Savior] has eternal life [that is, already possesses it]; but he who does not believe the Son and chooses to reject Him, [disobeying Him and denying Him as Savior] will not see [eternal] life, but [instead] the wrath of God hangs over him continually.”

 John 3:35-36 Amplified Bible (AMP)

When we have faith in, cling to and rely on Jesus Christ as our Saviour and we make Him Lord over our lives; we possess eternal life. But whoever is unbelieving toward Jesus and refuses to trust in Him, disregards Him or is not subject to the Son will never experience eternal life, but instead the wrath of God abides on him.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, please help me Lord to regulate my life and conduct myself in union with and conformity to Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Strengthen me Lord to have the roots of my being firmly and deeply planted in Jesus and to be fixed and founded in Him and be continually built up in Him. Help me Father to become increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. ‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

September 11 Devotion - Seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness

Jesus said:

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

لكِنِ اطْلُبُوا أَوَّلاً مَلَكُوتَ اللهِ وَبِرَّهُ، وَهذِهِ كُلُّهَا تُزَادُ لَكُمْ.

Matthew 6:33 AMP

Many times we fail to see the goodness of this verse. God often takes us places we could never dream of going on our own. His vision is far beyond ours. His might and power open doors for us we never knew existed or we thought were permanently closed.

To seek the kingdom of God is to know the character of God and to seek the rule and the reign of God over our entire life and to follow His guidance. We have a constant and absolute dependence on God and He is continually sustaining us. What is your most pressing need today? Whatever your need, God has an answer. When you seek God first, He promises to supply every necessity that is in accordance with His will and character.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, please help me to seek Your kingdom and don’t let me walk in my own way. Take away my selfish desires and replace them with Your healthy dreams and goals. Show me Your ways, O Lord; lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all day. Psalm 25:4–5 God I know that as Your child You will take care of me and remove any anxiety I may have over the future and You will provide all I need in Your time. Lord I trust that when I seek Your Kingdom and righteousness first the blessings I will receive will fill my heart with boundless joy and Your might and power will open doors for me that I thought were permanently closed and doors that I never knew existed. Now May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage my heart and strengthen me in every good deed and word.2 Thessalonians 2:16-17In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.

September 10 Devotion - The Peace of God

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 4:8

Trying circumstances; if we let them; can be the biggest inhibitors of experiencing the peace of God. We must always trust that the situation is in God’s hands. He is in control despite appearances. He is able to bring about a solution, whenever and however He chooses.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Thank You Lord that in You I can dwell in safety. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can cast my burdens and anxiety on You in prayer, to tell You what bothers me and robs my joy and peace, and to have a strong faith that You heard and will answer. I want to experience Your peace. Heavenly Father, whenever the pressures mount, help me to remember that You have taken all my cares upon Yourself. I cast my anxiety and burdens on You, knowing that everything is in Your care. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. Amen.

September 9 Devotion - God will strengthen you

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

Isaiah 41:10
John 16:33
God speaks with tenderness; fear not, for I am present with you. When we are weak He will strengthen us. When we are in need He will help us. When we fall, He will uphold us with His right hand which is full of righteousness. In His hand, there is victory, strength, and provision. In His hand there is everything we need.
In contrast to our assumption that having peace means the absence of conflict, tribulations or distress Jesus promises that His peace becomes apparent in the very middle of trouble and conflict. Troubles remind us to ask for Jesus' peace. God's answer will not usually mean that the problem will be over, but that Christ's peace will see us through it.
I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, in times of trouble please remind me to ask in prayer for Jesus’ peace and give me the faith that His peace will see me through my troubles. Father God, please help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You and obeying Your word. Lord, even when things do not make sense to me and are beyond my control, remind me that nothing is beyond Your ability. Lord, I know that You are upholding me with Your righteous right hand to make everything work together for my good. Thank You Father for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,
