October 25 Devotion - Who is Jesus to you?

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.

 Matthew 16:13-17

Many people think that Jesus was: A Prophet, a good teacher, a wise man who had powers. We hear rumblings from ‘The New Age’ followers that he was a man who managed to get in touch with his inner resources and was able to perform miracles because of that.

Jesus for me is:

  • The way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way to The Father God, John 14:6
  • The light of the world, The Son of God, Luke 22:70
  • He is the bread of life, John 6:35
  • He has all authority in heaven and on earth, Mathew 28:18
  • He had a sinless life, John 8:46
  • Jesus Christ has the power to forgive sins and provide everlasting life John 11:25, Luke 5:20-21
  • He is coming back Matthew 24:27-30
  • He is my Saviour and Lord over my Life

So the question begging an answer from you is: Who is Jesus to you?

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my innermost being and personality, so that I can always follow Jesus and be obedient to His teachings and be able to forgive, to love those who I find are hard to love, to submit to Your authority over my life, to get rid of all dissention, and anything that is displeasing to The Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray that everyone will be able to know Jesus in the way You know Him God. Thank You Father God, for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, inseparable and everlasting love. Lord, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. Father, I pray to You in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour, to whom be honour, glory, majesty, authority, and power forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

October 24 Devotion - Renew Your Mind

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs] but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

 Romans 12:2

Mathew Henry comments: ‘Conversion and sanctification are the renewing of the mind; a change, not of the substance, but of the qualities of the soul. The progress of sanctification, dying to sin more and more, and living to righteousness more and more, is the carrying on this renewing work, till it is perfected in glory. The great enemy to this renewal is, conformity to this world.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and that You want to revolutionize my mind as well as my spirit. Help me and teach me to change my thinking so that it will change my ways and attitude. Through the supernatural change agent; The Holy Spirit; change O Lord all my paradigms and entrenched mental configurations. I pray that You make me willing to change. I know that You began the transformation in my life when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and am confident that You will carry it through on to completion. Father God, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. In Jesus’ name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

October 17 Devotion - The Storms of Life

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Anxiety distracts the mind from communion with God. ‘Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow…but empties today of its strength’ (Charles Spurgeon)

The word nothing means it excludes any reason. No reason is exempt, and we are not allowed to worry about anything. This means that we are to pray about everything. Through thankful prayer we can declare to God our anxious thoughts and have faith that He will fill our hearts and mind with His peace when we leave our anxieties at The Cross.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, You know exactly where I am emotionally and mentally and I know as per Jesus’ promise You will comfort me. Help me to practice growing still before You Lord. I dwell on Your goodness knowing You never fail me. Father God, I believe that sometimes You do allow the pressures of life to build so that I can learn how to deal with them from a position of faith and not fear. Thank You for not condemning me for my feelings, and for providing wisdom for all I face. Strengthen me so as not to feel anxious and to be always thankful so that Your peace which surpasses all comprehension, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,

October 14 Devotion - God chose us in Christ

Even as [in His love] He chose us [picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Ephesians 1:4, John10:10 Amplified Bible

As believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour; according to the above scripture; God chose us before the world was formed, He knew us.

We are called to a fullness of life which far exceeds the dimensions of our earthly existence, because it consists in sharing the very life of God.

Not only has He chosen us, but He has equipped us with everything we need to live His abundant life. To be all that God has called us to be, we must see ourselves as chosen, valuable, and victorious.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that You have picked me as Your own in Christ even before the foundation of the earth and that through Christ’s blood You consider me blameless in Your sight. Help me Lord to understand my value as it stems from You and to rise higher and higher into the abundant life of victory and joy You have prepared for me. Father, help me to see myself as chosen, valuable and victorious. Lord, show me Your ways that I may be holy (consecrated and set apart for You) and walk with You in confidence and trust all the days of my life. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

October 13 Devotion- Ordered Steps

The steps of a good man/woman are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his/her way.

Psalm 37:23

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Psalm 32:8

We all need God’s support; even the most powerful must be supported by the Lord, without His support their strength and courage will be of no avail.

When we seek God and surrender to Jesus as our Lord and Saviour; our steps are established by The LORD, and we will delight in His choice for our lives. God will teach us and guide us with His eye upon us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, by Your grace and The Holy Spirit, establish and guide my steps. Help me to stay in faith and put You first in my life. I trust that You are at work in my life even during times when I don't understand it. I am confident that Your guidance has placed me where I am supposed to be right now. Give me the strength and courage to do what is right in Your sight to Your delight. Thank You that Through Your grace and mercy You care so much about every detail of my life. Thank You Father for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His mighty name. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 12 Devotion - Joy Fulfilled

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves….

20I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.”

John 17:9, 20

Jesus is praying for you and me and for all other believers who have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. He is requesting from The Father that we may experience Jesus’ joy fulfilled in us, and that Jesus’ enjoyment be perfected in our souls. He requests that our hearts be filled with His gladness.

Feeling joyful is what everyone wants, and we believers should be the most joyful, for our salvation is guaranteed through Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Thank You Jesus for praying for me to The Father. Heavenly Father I long to experience Jesus’ delight fulfilled in me, and Jesus’ enjoyment perfected in my soul. I long to have my heart filled with His gladness. Fill me God totally and envelop me with Your Grace, so that I can feel an inner joy independent of circumstances. Jesus You said: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11 Jesus I long for and pray that Your Joy remains in me and that my Joy be full and that I always rejoice in You. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I thank You and adore You. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 11 Devotion - Trusting God

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

Joshua 1:9, 2 Samuel 7:28, Psalms 9:10, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 13:5

There are many reasons why we can trust God:

He is the one, true God (2 Samuel 7:21–22)

He is the essence of truth (Hebrews 6:17–18)

He is absolutely faithful (Lamentations 3:23)

He has all power (Matthew 28:18)

He loves you unconditionally (John 15:9)

       He never changes (Hebrews 13:8).

When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You. In God, whose word I praise; In God I have put my trust; I shall not fear. What can mere man do to me?

Psalm 56:3-4

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, great is Thy faithfulness. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can trust You with an unconditional trust that allows me to have the patience to wait for Your deliverance. Jesus please teach me to repose all my cares and my load onto Your shoulders. Lord, I have trusted in Your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. Help me to trust in You Lord with all my heart, and not to depend on my own understanding. Hear my prayers O’Lord, In Jesus’ name I pray. ‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

October 6 Devotion - I take refuge in You, LORD

God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.

Psalm 5:11, Hebrews 13:5

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. Psalm 5:11 Give ear to my words, O Lord, give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, For to You I will pray. Psalm 5:1-2 Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You. Psalm 9:10 My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121 Keep me safe, O God, for in You I take refuge. Psalm 16:1. I trust in Your promise God that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

October 5 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 24 (final) - I am God's co-worker. I am God's workmanship.

For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. 6 As God’s partners we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

1 Corinthians 3:9

2 Corinthians 6:1

Ephesians 2:10

We are to work together with God, in promoting the purposes of His glory, and the salvation of precious souls; and God will make sure that we do not labour in vain. We are employed by God, and He will carefully look over us. For we are his workmanship - He has saved us so that we may show forth the virtues of Him who called us from darkness into His marvelous light. For though we are not saved by our good works, but by God’s grace, yet we are saved that we may perform good works, to the glory of God and the benefit of mankind.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You God that I am Your co-worker and Your workmanship. Thank You God for saving me and creating me anew in Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. LORD, I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can work together with You in promoting the purposes of Your glory, and the salvation of precious souls. Help me God to continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour, and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith, and I may perform good works, to Your glory God and the benefit of mankind. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

Wagdi Henein

October 4 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 23 - I have been redeemed and forgiven. I have been adopted as Gods child.

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.

Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1:5

Forgiveness (Gk. aphesis) speaks of a canceled debt. You and I can be forgiven, not simply because God is merciful, but because Christ went to the cross and shed His blood for me and for you. Our debt has been cancelled because Jesus died in our place.

We are forgiven when we accept that He has died in our place, for our sins. Salvation is not something we earn through good deeds or bargain for, in exchange for promising to improve. God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son Jesus Christ whom He loves.

The Greek word for adoption to sonship is a legal term referring to the full legal standing of an adopted male heir in Roman culture. When we surrender our lives to Christ and accept the fact that He bore our sins in His own body at The Cross, and when we declare Him as our Lord and Saviour, at that moment we are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Thank You Jesus that you paid for my sins, and they have been canceled. You paid a very high price for me, Your blood. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can forgive others and to forgive myself. Please help others to forgive me. Strengthen me Lord so that I continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour, and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you

October 3 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 22 - I am hidden with Christ in God. I have been justified

You died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God, therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:3, Romans 5:1

When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we are born again, of the spirit. Our love for sin fades and dies and our love for God is in Christ. God has justified us, or declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You God that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, and justified me according to the riches of Your grace and I now have peace with You God through my Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and that I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Abba Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I may die to this life and live a new real life hidden with Christ in You. I declare to the world that Christ is my Lord, Saviour, and Friend. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,
