March 20 Devotion - When I feel sad console me Lord

 

O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you.

Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

يَارَبُّ ارْحَمْنَا. إِيَّاكَ انْتَظَرْنَا، كُنْ عَضُدَنَا فِي الصَّبَاحِ، وَخَلاَصَنَا فِي أَثْنَاءِ الْمِحْنَةِ.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”

"لاَ تَضْطَرِبْ قُلُوبُكُمْ. أَنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللهِ، فَآمِنُوا بِي أَيْضاً".

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

Comfort me Lord through The Holy Spirit and Your words….

The Lord is near to you because you have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:17-20

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9   

All things will work together for good for you because you love God, Romans 8:28   Make sure to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Abba Father, console me O’Lord and let not my heart be troubled. Let my trust in You overcome any burden. I depend on Your right hand to save me and Your promises to comfort me in my confusion, sadness, and suffering. I long to feel your consolation and joy and I confidently await your mercies. Father God, I thank you for knowing every emotion I go through and for having an answer and support for me today. Strengthen me Lord to be of good courage. Thank You Lord that during my period of weakness Your strength is made perfect. Help me Lord to pray continuously. I rejoice in the assurance that You are with me God wherever I am, that all things will work together for good for me, and that I will rejoice because Your peace God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus; in whose mighty holy name I pray. March 17 Devotion - God is Spirit

 

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

الله روح. والذين يسجدون له فبالروح والحق ينبغي ان يسجدوا.

John 4:24

 

God The Father is Spirit and is therefore omnipresent. He is present everywhere. We should worship Him due to His nature and perfection.  The nature of God is an eternal, immense and infinite Spirit. God is the creator of all spirits.

 

A. Worshipping in Spirit

 

I believe we would be considered worshipping God in spirit, when we are guided by The Holy Spirit, and we present our requests to the throne of God through our mediator Jesus Christ. Worshipping God must spring from the heart, through the influence of the Holy Spirit.

 

This is in accordance with [the terms of] the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, ¹² in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him [that is, our faith gives us sufficient courage to freely and openly approach God through Christ]

Ephesians 3:11-12 AMP

  

وَفْقاً لِقَصدِهِ الأزَلِيِّ الَّذِي حَقَّقَهُ فِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ رَبِّنا. 12 فَفِي المَسِيحِ، وَبِالإيمانِ بِهِ، لَنا امتِيازُ الدُّخُولِ إلَى حَضرَةِ اللهِ بِجُرأةٍ وَثِقَةٍ.

 

B. Worshipping in Truth

 

We would be considered worshipping God in truth when our worship is guided and regulated by The Word of God.

 

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was with God in the beginning. ³ Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ⁴ In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

March 16 Devotion - Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)

March 14 Devotion - Go and bear fruit

 

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

 

John 15:16

 

ليس انتم اخترتموني بل انا اخترتكم واقمتكم لتذهبوا وتأتوا بثمر ويدوم ثمركم .لكي يعطيكم الآب كل ما طلبتم باسمي .

 

Jesus graciously inclined us by His Holy Spirit to seek Him; and commenced the work of our personal salvation.

Whatever talents and blessings we possess as Christians, we owe to God, and by the most tender and sacred ties we are bound to be His followers. We are chosen to bear spiritual fruit, and to spread as far as possible all the spiritual blessings which the gospel confers on mankind. We must consider Jesus Christ as the great Mediator between God and us, proclaim His salvation, and pray in His name.

Abba Father, thank You for choosing me and appointing me to bear fruit. March 13 Devotion - The God of All Comfort

 

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, ⁴ who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. ⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

4 الذي يعزينا في كل ضيقتنا حتى نستطيع ان نعزي الذين هم في كل ضيقة بالتعزية التي نتعزى نحن بها من الله.

 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

 

 We need to always remember especially when we are going through periods of severe pain that our God is The God of all comfort. Jesus understands our heartaches, rejection, and pain because He himself went through it. Our Saviour stands as the Great High Priest offering us mercy and grace.  The Holy Spirit, The comforter, who is dwelling within every believer, will remind us of all the promises of God and encourage us and channel the love of Jesus to sustain us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can depend on You totally and to call out Your name always in praise and thanksgiving, especially during the difficult, painful, dark and desperate periods of life. Strengthen me Abba so that I can transfer Your comfort which I receive, to those who are suffering. March 10 Devotion - A time to work and a time to rest

 

Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. ³¹ And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”

وَاجْتَمَعَ الرُّسُلُ إِلَى يَسُوعَ، وَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ: بِمَا عَمِلُوهُ وَمَا عَلَّمُوهُ. 31 فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «تَعَالَوْا أَنْتُمْ عَلَى انْفِرَادٍ إِلَى مَكَانٍ خَالٍ، وَاسْتَرِيحُوا قَلِيلاً»

Mark 6:30-31

 

Jesus Himself told His disciples after their hard work that they should take a time to rest and rejuvenate. So must we. As Solomon wrote: There is a time for everything under the sun. 

The Scriptures tell us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 that whatever we do we should do for God’s glory. So whether we are working or at rest we need to glorify God.

Let us remember that Jesus gave us a job to do apart from our regular jobs. In His great commission Jesus said to His disciples and to all believers “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. ¹⁹ Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you.”

 18 فَتَقَدَّمَ يَسُوعُ وَكَلَّمَهُمْ قَائِلاً: «دُفِعَ إِليَّ كُلُّ سُلْطَانٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَعَلَى الأَرْضِ. 19 فَاذْهَبُوا إِذَنْ، وَتَلْمِذُوا جَمِيعَ الأُمَمِ، وَعَمِّدُوهُمْ بِاسْمِ الآبِ وَالاِبْنِ وَالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ؛ 20 وَعَلِّمُوهُمْ أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا بِكُلِّ مَا أَوْصَيْتُكُمْ بِهِ.

So if you have retired, welcome to your second career.

Let us remember that when we surrender our lives to Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives:

… it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

March 9 Devotion - Give all your worries to God

 

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

ملقين كل همكم عليه لانه هو يعتني بكم

1 Peter 5:7

 

The Apostle Peter instructed us to cast the whole of our cares (all our anxieties, all our worries, all our concerns) on God, for He cares for us affectionately and watchfully.

 

Many believers know how to totally relax and depend on God to resolve their problems and never worry. I do not do that very well. I am improving but have a long way to go.

 

O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

قُلْتُ لِلرَّبِّ: «أَنْتَ سَيِّدِي. خَيْرِي لاَ شَيْءَ غَيْرُكَ».

Psalm 16:2

 

Even though I totally realize that it is best to depend on God, I cannot always let go and let God.  It seems that either I have a strong desire to solve problems on my own, have a lot of pride, or need to increase my faith, or all of the above. Can you relate to that?

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Help me Lord to be able to cast all my worries and cares upon You Lord. Strengthen my faith Lord, diminish my pride. Father God I know that Your solution for my life is what is best for me, help me to let go of the desire to resolve my own problems, and give me the wisdom to follow Your direction. Help me Father to not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present my requests to You. You are Holy, righteous, and infinite in wisdom. Thank You that Your mercies never cease. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the authority, the majesty, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

March 8 Devotion - Involve God in every decision

 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

 لاَ تَقْلَقُوا مِنْ جِهَةِ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ، بَلْ فِي كُلِّ أَمْرٍ لِتَكُنْ طَلِبَاتُكُمْ مَعْرُوفَةً لَدَى اللهِ، بِالصَّلاَةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ، مَعَ الشُّكْرِ.

 

Philippians 4:6

 

Do you think we should pray about every single detail in our lives? God did not exclude anything. What would a child pray about? Jesus said in Mark10:15 “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” In Psalm 37:23(NLT): The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

                                                                                          There are some commandments and guidelines that God has given us, so we should not pray to God asking Him obvious things like: God should I love my neighbour? Because He told us we should, however we can pray to God to help us love them. Other than God’s commandments and guidelines, I believe we should pray for every detail in our lives.

                                                                                                                            

We seem to keep prayers only for big demands or crisis. Praying for and about everything keeps us in constant communication and connection with God and that pleases His heart and is very useful for us.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that You love me so much that You want to fellowship with me all day and You desire that I involve You in all my thoughts and actions. I appreciate that You are omnipresent(available everywhere) omniscient (all knowing), and You are interested in every detail in my life. Help me Lord to develop the habit to pray to You about every detail of my life. Thank You Father God for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. March 6 Devotion - Self - Esteem

 

So He said to them, “You are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts [your thoughts, your desires, your secrets]; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.

 فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: 

«إِنَّكُمْ تُبَرِّرُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ أَمَامَ النَّاسِ، وَلكِنَّ اللهَ يَعْرِفُ قُلُوبَكُمْ. فَمَا يَعْتَبِرُهُ النَّاسُ رَفِيعَ الْقَدْرِ، هُوَ رِجْسٌ عِنْدَ اللهِ.

 

Luke 16:15

Self-esteem is defined as confidence in one's own worth or abilities, self-respect.

 

While believers should have high self- esteem, the source of their self-esteem is crucial. I find myself conforming to the world by drawing my self-worth based on how the world and people measure me.

 

What is the source of your self-esteem? Is it your social setting? Your professional setting? Your culture setting? Your financial setting? Or do you get your self-esteem from pleasing God?

 

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِصَمُوئِيلَ: «لاَ تُلْقِ بَالاً إِلَى وَسَامَتِهِ وَطُولِ قَامَتِهِ إِذ لَيْسَ هَذَا مَنِ اخْتَرْتُهُ، فَنَظْرَةُ الرَّبِّ تَخْتَلِفُ عَنْ نَظْرَةِ الإِنْسَانِ، لأَنَّ الإِنْسَانَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَظْهَرِ الْخَارِجِيِّ وَأَمَّا الرَّبُّ فَإِنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَلْبِ».

When I get my self-esteem from pleasing God, I get my confidence by trusting God.

LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can surrender to You and let You transform me into a new person by changing the way I think and make me stop copying the behaviour and customs of this world. Romans 12:2. Lord increase my self-esteem in proportion to the extent that I please You and increase my trust in You. Abba Father, thank You that You love me and that Your love is unfailing, steadfast, deep, and everlasting. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. March 3 Devotion - He who is mighty has done great things for me

 

In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. When His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness; He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.

يَوْمَ دَعَوْتُكَ اسْتَجَبْتَ لِي، وَشَجَّعْتَنِي إِذْ زِدْتَنِي قُوَّةً فِي دَاخِلِي. حِينَ كَانَ مِصْبَاحُهُ يُضِيءُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي، فَأَسْلُكُ عَبْرَ الظُّلْمَةِ فِي نُورِهِ. فَإِنَّ الْقَدِيرَ قَدْ فَعَلَ بِي أُمُوراً عَظِيمَةً، قُدُّوسٌ اسْمُهُ.

When we walk in the light of God's countenance, every outward comfort is increased, every trouble is diminished, and we pass cheerfully by this light through life. When we rely on His loving-kindness and truth through Jesus Christ, we will always find Him faithful to His word.

Abba Father, thank You Lord, for Your promise to guide me and to comfort me through the most difficult circumstances. In the day when I cried out to You God, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. As I look back on my life, I see how You protected me God through the darkest hours and helped me walk in the light of Your countenance. I can boldly say that He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. Abba, I claim Your promises to continue to do great things for me and to give me wisdom, strength, and peace. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your Holy Name. March 2 Devotion - God's Unfailing Love

 

Show us your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.

أَظْهِرْ لَنَا رَحْمَتَكَ يَارَبُّ، وَامْنَحْنَا خَلاَصَكَ.

Éternel! fais-nous voir ta bonté, Et accorde-nous ton salut!

Psalm 85:7 NIV

Everything God does is done with love and kindness toward us. We cannot comprehend His love for us just by knowing about it. The only way we can even begin to understand and feel the unfailing and limitless Love of God, is to look at the Cross and realize what Jesus did for us and to accept His love into our hearts and experience it firsthand.

Abba Father, Your faithfulness is great. Lord, I embrace Your grace, mercy, faithfulness, and trustworthiness with renewed assurance; and I rest confidently in that assurance over everything including my salvation. Thank You Father for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me and Your abundant blessings in my life. God, even though Your promises do not always unfold in the way I imagined, You always keep them in Your perfect timing and in a way that is best for me. March 1 Devotion - In times of weakness

 

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

فقال لي تكفيك نعمتي لان قوتي في الضعف تكمل.فبكل سرور افتخر بالحري في ضعفاتي لكي تحل علي قوة المسيح.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Today, remember, whatever you may be facing, you are not alone. You are not without hope; you will never face anything that God’s grace cannot empower you to move through. When you feel like you are about to give up and cannot continue, that is when God will carry you by His grace.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Teach me Lord to respond prayerfully in times of weakness. When I feel weak remind me to rely on Your grace, because when I do depend on Your Grace, that is when I feel the strongest. Show me the purpose of what I am facing and give me Your wisdom and strength to handle the situation according to Your will for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
