September 17 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 25 (final) - I am God's co-worker. I am God's workmanship.

For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. 6 As God’s partners we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

1 Corinthians 3:9

2 Corinthians 6:1

Ephesians 2:10

We are to work together with God, in promoting the purposes of His glory, and the salvation of precious souls; and God will make sure that we do not labour in vain. We are employed by God, and He will carefully look over us. For we are his workmanship - He has saved us so that we may show forth the virtues of Him who called us from darkness into His marvelous light. For though we are not saved by our good works, but by God’s grace, yet we are saved that we may perform good works, to the glory of God and the benefit of man.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You God that I am Your co-worker and Your workmanship. Thank You God for saving me and creating me anew in Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. LORD, I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can work together with You in promoting the purposes of Your glory, and the salvation of precious souls. Help me God to continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith, and I may perform good works, to Your glory God and the benefit of mankind. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

September 13 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 24 - I have been redeemed and forgiven. I have been adopted as Gods child.

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.

Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1:5

Forgiveness (Gk. aphesis) speaks of a canceled debt. You and I can be forgiven, not simply because God is merciful, but because Christ went to the cross and shed His blood for me and for you. Our debt has been cancelled because Jesus died in our place.

We are forgiven when we accept that He has died in our place, for our sins. Salvation is not something we earn through good deeds or bargain for, in exchange for promising to improve. God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son Jesus Christ whom He loves.

The Greek word for adoption to sonship is a legal term referring to the full legal standing of an adopted male heir in Roman culture. When we surrender our lives to Christ and accept the fact that He bore our sins in His own body at The Cross, and when we declare Him as our Lord and Saviour, at that moment we are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Thank You Jesus that you paid for my sins, and they have been canceled. You paid a very high price for me, Your blood. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can forgive others and to forgive myself. Please help others to forgive me. Strengthen me Lord so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour, and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

September 3 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 17 - I am assured all things work together for good

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

The persons in whose behalf all things work for good are those that love God, have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and made Him Lord over their lives, and consequently, who live in the spirit of obedience.

All tribulations, or afflictions, or persecutions that may arise, God uses them and converts them to contribute to the general good of the person who loves God, and who is led by faith under the direction and guidance of The Holy Spirit.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord that You make all things, including tribulations and afflictions, to work together for my good. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Lord, I worship You, trust You, praise You, glorify You, stand in awe of You and submit to Your wisdom in all things. Thank You Lord, that in my weakest moments, You assure me that the power of Christ will rest upon me. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can always declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious only begotten Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

August 29 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 16 - I am established, anointed, sealed by God

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

The objective of this verse is to trace all to God, and to prevent the appearance of self-confidence, or of boasting. It was customary to anoint kings, prophets, and priests on their entering into their office as a part of the ceremony of inauguration. It is applied often to the Messiah as being set apart, or consecrated to his office as prophet, priest, and King - that is, as appointed by God to the highest office ever held in the world. It is applied also to Christians as being consecrated, or set apart to the service of God by the Holy Spirit - a use of the word, which is derived from the sense of consecrating, or setting apart to the service of God. The word sealed is important here, because once we acknowledge Jesus as our Saviour and let Him dominate over our lives, we are saved, and our salvation is sealed and cannot be taken away from us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God, and I am established, anointed, and sealed by God. Abba Father thank You that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, thank You that You established me with You in Christ and that You anointed me and also sealed me and given me The Holy Spirit in my heart as a guarantee. I rejoice that as a believer I am being consecrated or set apart to the service of God by the Holy Spirit. God, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that I am established, anointed, and sealed by God. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the majesty, the authority, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In Him,

August 28 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 15 - I cannot be separated from God’s love for me

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:35-39 New Living Translation (NLT)

God’s love for His children, the ones who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour and made Him Lord over their lives, can never change or be altered by whatever means or circumstances. Nothing we can do can make God love us any more or any less —indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God for us that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord that indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate me from Your love for me God, that is revealed in Christ Jesus my Lord. Thank You Father God that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father. I rejoice that I will spend eternity with You. Father God, I pray that You strengthen me to behave in such a way that pleases Your spirit within me. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 19 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 11 - I am free from any charge against me

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Romans 8:31-34

God justified us, which means He declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that my DNA reveals that I as a follower of Your Son Jesus I am free from any charge against me. Thank You God that You now see me through Christ’s righteousness instead of through my sin. Thank You God that Your justifying love allows me to stand accepted before You. Thank You God that You are for me, and whoever is against me does not even compare to You. Thank You Jesus for Your crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, and for Your intercession on my behalf to God. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. To Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. Amen. Jude 1:24-25

August 16 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

Philippians 3:20

Our citizenship, our thoughts, our affections, are already in heaven.  We must look unto the heavens expecting Christ’s return.

Thank You God that You have bestowed me with the honour of being a citizen of heaven, where You and Jesus dwell. So my citizenship is not of this world but of heaven. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 15 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 9 - I am free forever from condemnation

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2

In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul said: ‘So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin’ meaning that the Law could not affect deliverance from sin. In Romans 8 he states ‘There is, therefore, now’ deliverance and it is related to the gospel alone. This applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. God has justified us, or declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour. Because Christ has already endured the penalty of our sins and obeyed the precept of the Law in our behalf, there is no condemnation whatever, not only no final condemnation, but no condemnation now.

This does not mean a license to sin, on the contrary. By accepting Jesus as Lord over our lives the Spirit of God is conveyed into our hearts through The Holy Spirit, and we are delivered from sin.

Our union with Christ is compared to that between the vine and its branches John 15:1-6, and hence, we believers are in Him in a similar sense, as deriving our support from Him, and as united in feeling, in purpose, and destiny. Out of love for Jesus and through the Holy Spirit we live in obedience to God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that; as a follower of Your Son Jesus; I am free forever from condemnation. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can live by the spirit and not by the flesh. Father God, I praise You and glorify You. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 14 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 8 - I am a member of the body of Christ

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

1 Corinthians 12:27

The Church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head. The Apostle Paul states the truth that the church is one, as the body is one, yet has many members, so is it with the church. The body has many members, and no members in the body are useless, but all perform important parts, however unimportant they may seem to be; and no one member can say that it has no need of the others. So it is in the church. As members of The Church of Christ (global) all believers are members of the body of Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord that that my DNA reveals that I am a member of the body of Christ and that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. Lord, please strengthen me to continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend and behave in such a way that pleases Your spirit within me. Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I pray to You in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; Your living Son; to whom be honour, power, dominion, and glory forever and ever. Amen.

August 13 Devotion - Your DNA in God - Part 7 - I am the salt & light of the earth

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Matthew 5:13-14

Please note that Jesus never challenges us to become salt or light. He simply says that we are - and we are either fulfilling or failing that responsibility. Salt is needed because the world is rotting and decaying and if our Christianity is also rotting and decaying, it won't be any good. Light is needed because the world is in darkness, and if our Christianity imitates the darkness, we have nothing to show the world. To be effective we must seek to be Christlike in everything we say and do all the time.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that You make me more and more like Your Son so that I can fulfill the responsibility of being the salt and the light to everyone I am in contact with even if it is virtual in these social distancing times. I Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. To Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. Amen. Jude 1:24-25.

August 12 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a personal witness of Christ

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

We each have a role to talk about the good news and the truth about Jesus to all those who do not believe and/or do not know the good news and the truth. Do you know anyone whom you can help? Even if you just forward devotions to them, that is a beginning.

Here is the good news:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. Expand my focus Jesus and bring me into harmony with Your divine purpose of reaching the world with the good news of the gospel and the truth about Your identity. Jesus, I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can help others become Your disciples. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
