July 20 Devotion - Our Caring God

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
                                                                               Psalm 56:8

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You that You care so much about every detail of my life. Through Your grace and mercy You feel for me and record every sorrow and collect every tear I have shed. You see the longings and desires of my heart. Thank You Father that that You have my best interest at heart. I will keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right things because the One who collects my tears and repays for the years the locusts have eaten will restore every area in my life. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name, to Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.

July 19 Devotion - God is all you need

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; and God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3:5, Philippians 4:19

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, help me to stop leaning on my own understanding and abilities and to depend totally on Your wisdom and power, and Your divine will and plan for my life. I ask You God to heal my brokenness and to remove any weaknesses within me that that may be preventing me from totally trusting that You will supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus; in whose mighty name I pray. Amen.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

July 18 Devotion - A Bright Beginning

The disciples were stunned and lost when Jesus was crucified, they lost total hope.

They regained hope when He rose from the dead and was with them again. Then He ascended to the Father. While they sadly gazed to the heavens angels told them:

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:11

What they saw as an ending, God saw as a bright and glorious beginning.

We can apply this lesson to everything that happens to us in life. Some things come to an end, but in God’s plan for our lives, He has bright new beginnings.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. I ask You God to heal my brokenness and to remove any weaknesses within me that that may be preventing me from totally trusting You. Lord, as You sent angels to the disciples; to deliver Your message; let me receive Your plan for my life and help me to move from the sorrow and pain of the endings to the joy of Your bright beginnings. Lord, I thank You for endings that are truly new beginnings. Strengthen my faith to take the next step. Lord I want to experience Your plan for my life. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name, to Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you.
Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

July 17 Devotion - The Foundation of Peace

Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

2 Peter 3:14

Lasting peace cannot be attained through our own efforts, but rather through Christ in us. The peace that comes from Him is eternal. Our bond with Him is the foundation upon which real peace is built.

In order to experience the peace of God we need first to be at peace with God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I want to experience Your true peace. I ask You God to expose anything that may be preventing me from being at peace with You and heal it so that I can receive the true and everlasting peace that only You can give. Thank You Lord that through the atoning blood of Jesus I can become without spot and blameless in Your eyes. Father I rejoice in Your faithfulness. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name, to Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you.
Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

July 16 Devotion - When we feel sad

I searched the Bible for God’s relief and support for my and your broken heart and contrite spirit and found God telling us:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9  The Lord is near to you because you have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:17-20 “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9   All things will work together for good for you because you love God, Romans 8:28  Make sure to rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  in everything give thanks 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I thank you for knowing every emotion we go through and for having an answer and support for me today. Strengthen me Lord to be of good courage. Thank You Lord that during my period of weakness Your strength is made perfect. Help me Lord to pray continuously. I rejoice in the assurance that You are with me God wherever I am, that all things will work together for good for me, and that I will rejoice because Your peace God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus; in whose Holy Name I pray. Amen.
O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you.
Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

July 13 Devotion - SAFE IN GOD'S ARMS

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us focus on God’s grace and unconditional love for us, let us focus on His power and ability to control all circumstances. Let us focus on His always-listening ear and His always-watchful eye.

When we keep focusing on God, our thoughts about our problems diminish and our hope increases.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I choose to see Your loving arms wrapped around me lifting me up to safety, provision, and peace. I thank You that You are a reliable and trustworthy God and You promised that You will never leave me nor forsake me, and I know that You are faithful. I choose today to concentrate on You, to hold fast my confession that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and in His mighty name I pray. Amen.
O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you.
Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

July 12 Devotion - The Humbled and Exalted Christ

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

Philippians 2:5-9

Many of us wish and strive to be Christ-like. We learn from the above scriptures that Jesus was obedient, humble and loving. He loved us and died on the cross in our place, to offer us the opportunity to be forgiven, redeemed and declared righteous in the eyes of God, by accepting Him as our Saviour and declaring Him as Lord over our lives.

Humility is sometimes misunderstood.  I understand that when God says we should be humble, to mean we should be free from pride and arrogance. Humility means to me that we know that in our flesh we are inadequate, yet we also know who we are in Christ, we are able to walk humbly in the power of God’s Holy Spirit, not our own personal power.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love.  Help me LORD and give me wisdom and teach me to be Christ-like, through the Holy Spirit. Help me to be humble andDo not let any unwholesome talk come out of my mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.’ Ephesians 4:29 Strengthen me Abba Father to ‘get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, and slander, along with every form of malice. Teach me to be kind and compassionate to others, forgiving them, just as Christ God forgave me.’ Ephesians 4:31-32. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

July 11 Devotion - Experiencing God's love

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

John 15: 9

What I am about to share with you, you may have known for years, however I just learned it. God teaches us specific lessons at the appropriate time, when He knows it is the right time and we are ready to learn. Very recently a godly person shared the following with me:

My relationship with God is to experience His love for what it is and not what I think love is.

My interpretation of God's love is based on what I have learnt from my surroundings and those in it. That includes my friends, family, loved ones, and the media. In most cases the meaning has been distorted.

I need to experience God's love as God's love really is without comparing it to anyone I may have ever known.

How do I do that? I ask Him, and He will show me His love and He will hug me and He will tell me what His love looks like and I will experience it.

Once this happens then I will know that I can trust Him because He loves me so much.

I need to ask to know how God loves me, and unlearning the way I think He does.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Jesus for loving me the way The Father loved You. Help me to abide in You Jesus. I ask You my Heavenly Father to show me your love and help me feel it, understand it, and internalize it. Help me Lord to unlearn the erroneous way that I was taught about Your love and replace it with a genuine knowledge of Your unconditional, unfathomable, immeasurable love. Father increase my trust in You so that I can totally and completely depend on You. Lord I need a heavenly hug. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
Psalm 16:2

July 9 Devotion - Remember NOW your Creator

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”

Ecclesiastes 12:1

I attended the wedding of the son of a dear friend this weekend. A very godly friend told the bride to remember Ecclesiastes 12:1 and he cited it to her and told her to share it with the groom. I had not read that verse before and asked him about it.

While I pondered its meaning and impact on youth, I wished it applied to me, but said alas I am no longer ‘youth’, however I quickly realized that 30 years from today I will look at my current age as ‘youth’. After all they say you are as old as you feel. So it applies to all of us independent of age, let us remember our creator NOW.

If you are reading this and saying I am already 100 years old and it does not apply to me, then consider the following verses:

Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Isaiah 46:4, 1 Peter 5:7

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Help me Lord to remember You now and all the time in my youth and in my ‘old’ age, in my going out and in my coming in, in my labour and in my leisure, in my laughter and in my tears. Thank you Father that through my joy in You I will never get to a state where I will say about my years: “I have no pleasure in them”. Thank You Lord that even to my gray hairs you will carry me. Thank You my Heavenly Father that You care so much about me that I can always cast all my anxiety upon You.In Jesus’ name I pray.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

July 6 Devotion - By Grace not by works

"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

 «الْحَقَّ الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكَ: لاَ أَحَدَ يُمْكِنُهُ أَنْ يَرَى مَلَكُوتَ اللهِ إِلاَّ إِذَا وُلِدَ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ».

John 3:3-7

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Your role

1. Something to admit:

That you have sinned in the sight of God. (we all have)

2. Something to believe:

That Jesus Christ died on the cross bearing all the guilt and penalty of your sin.

3. Something to do:

Accept Jesus Christ to be Lord over your life, your Saviour to cleanse you, your friend to guide and be with you.
Revelation 3:20. Jesus is speaking, `Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him...
Jesus Christ waits outside the door of your life. He will not force his way in. He wants to be asked in. The handle of the door is on the inside; only you can open the door.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, In Your great mercy You have not given me the penalty I deserve. By Your grace You have given me what I do not deserve; repentance and faith in Jesus The Saviour and Lord and a new birth into a living hope. I am born again to a new life as God’s child. Praise be to You. Thank you for making it clear to me that only those who receive Jesus—not merely know about Him— but rely on Him for salvation, submitting to Him as Master, and loving Him as the supreme treasure—become God’s children. For by grace I have been saved through faith, and that not of myself; it is Your gift God, it is not by my good works, lest I should boast. In Jesus’ name. Amen

July 4 Devotion - Total and Complete Dependence on God

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:26

God is sovereign; we can cast all our anxiety on Him. He created everything and has absolute control over every aspect of His creation. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever present. He knows absolutely everything about our situation and He cares for us. God loves all believers in His Son Jesus Christ; as Lord and Saviour; with an unconditional, unfathomable, immeasurable love.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank you Father for Your  omniscience—You know all my needs, for  Your omnipotence—You are able to help in all circumstances, for Your  omnipresence—You are involved in all aspects and details of my life. Help me God to totally depend on You, cast my worries and anxiety on You and enjoy Your peace. My heavenly Father, please produce wholeness out of my brokenness; build strength out of my weakness; heal my emotional and physical sickness; and bring reconciliation and love to all my relationships. Lord I want to totally and completely depend on You like the birds of the air. In Jesus’ name I pray.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

July 3 Devotion - Glory in Tribulations

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 5:3-4

Romans 8:28

A.

Are you experiencing tribulations? Are you worried? Are you depending only on another human being to help you?

B.

Are you experiencing tribulations? Do You love God? Do you trust God? Do you have His purpose in your heart?

If you chose ‘B’…Good news……….. Everything will work out for your good.

If you chose ‘A’ work on choosing ‘B’ and listen to what God says:

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalm 118:8, Proverbs 3:5-6, Philippians 4:7

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, help me to always have an attitude of gratitude. Lord increase my love for You, my trust in You, and my dependence on You. Guide me to always acknowledge Your love for me and Your grace in my life. Convert any tribulations in my life to an increased hope through an increase in my perseverance level, and an improvement and strength in my character. I rejoice in the fact that all things will work for good in my life. I also rejoice that You are directing my path and that through Jesus; my Lord and Saviour; my heart and mind are guarded. Amen.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
