November 25 Devotion - We are members of the body of Christ

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

1 Corinthians 12:27

The Church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head. The Apostle Paul states the truth that the church is one, as the body is one, yet has many members, so is it with the church. The body has many members, and no members in the body are useless, but all perform important parts, however unimportant they may seem to be; and no one member can say that it has no need of the others. So it is in the church. As members of The Church of Christ (global) all believers are members of the body of Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. Thank You Lord that I am a member of the body of Christ. Guide me Lord to fulfill the role that You have chosen for me within the Body of Christ, within the local and the global church. Guide us all to work in unity within the local and global church, help us to see each other as precious members and servants within Your Body, The Church. Lord, strengthen me to continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend and behave in a such a way that pleases Your spirit within me. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the living Son of God to whom be honour, power, dominion and glory forever and ever. Amen.

November 22 Devotion - ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luke 11:9

Those who Ask will receive answers. Those who Seek will find. Those who Knock will find the door opened for them.

The Lord wants us to pray to Him, not only because it honours Him, but also because it helps us to grow in Him. Furthermore, prayer taps us into His work in the world. At any given moment, we can pray for anyone anywhere on earth and have confidence that the Lord of the entire universe will hear us and respond in the most effective fashion.
For this reason, prayer is one of the best ways to get involved in God’s mission. What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to participate in the expansion of God’s kingdom by asking the Lord to help His children and impact His creation.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your inseparable, deep and everlasting love. God I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your Holy Name. Lord, teach me to ask, seek, and knock—to persevere in prayer until I receive Your answer. Thank You for all the good and advantageous gifts You gave me, are giving me, and will give me in the future. God please teach me to seek Your face and help me to grow in Your word. I knock on the door of Your Peace that surpasses all understanding. In the mighty name of Jesus; my Lord and Saviour; The King of kings and Lord of lords, in The Holy Name of Your only begotten Son Jesus, I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

November 21 Devotion - Lasting Happiness

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:3

Since the original language of the Gospel of Matthew was written in Greek (although Jesus spoke Aramaic), the word used for blessed is ‘Makarios’ which means deep contentment and lasting happiness.
Real happiness is found when we realize that happiness is in the spiritual realm that is interior to ourselves. In our spiritual realm we are designed to know, experience and enjoy God.

In the same way that man designed a car to run on gasoline (or electricity); I believe God designed us to run on Himself. He is the fuel our spirits were designed to run on.

I had always pondered on why being ‘poor in spirit’ is a good thing, until I learnt that it means: it is when I realize my spiritual bankruptcy and depend on God who is the real food and fuel to my spirit and He comes to live within me that I can have Makarios. When I accept God’s only begotten Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, I receive The Holy Spirit and I can have The Kingdom of God within me and be guaranteed eternity with God.

For me it is straight forward, if  anyone wants everlasting happiness, Makarios, it is only found in Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, I realize that I am poor in spirit and You are the fuel and food for my spirit. Thank You that You sent Jesus to redeem me and grant me salvation and life eternal as a pure act of grace which I do not deserve. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings and deep inseparable love. God I praise You and glorify You. Help me Father to sink the message that lasting happiness is not found in worldly things, deep in my heart. Thank You for revealing to me that You are the source of my ‘Makarios’. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

November 20 Devotion - Be Happy

Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Proverbs 16:20, Psalm 16:11

Today let us choose to make it a time to be happy, to be in God’s presence and therefore be full of joy, and stay at His right hand and find pleasures forevermore.
You may say this is not sound doctrine, and I reply:

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, please continue to teach me to trust in You so that I can be transformed to be Christ like, to feel Your joy, to be happy, to live Your good and pleasing will for my life. A life full of pleasures forevermore. Lord, fill my heart with laughter and my tongue with songs of joy bringing all my thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Thank You Father God for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. I pray to You Father in Jesus’ mighty name, to Jesus be the glory, the majesty, the blessings, the authority and the dominion both now and forevermore. Amen.

In Him,
