August 10 Devotion - Do not be anxious about anything

 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

لاَ تَهْتَمُّوا بِشَيْءٍ، بَلْ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ بِالصَّلاَةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ مَعَ الشُّكْرِ، لِتُعْلَمْ طِلْبَاتُكُمْ لَدَى اللهِ. ⁷وَسَلاَمُ اللهِ الَّذِي يَفُوقُ كُلَّ عَقْل، يَحْفَظُ قُلُوبَكُمْ وَأَفْكَارَكُمْ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

Philippians 4:6-7

It is good to be concerned and excited but wrong to be worried and anxious. Anxiety makes our concerns to become all-consuming and debilitating.

Adam Clarke in his commentary on Philippians writes,

This peace passes all understanding; it is of a very different nature from all that can arise from human occurrences; it is a peace which Christ has purchased, and which God dispenses; it is felt by all the truly godly but can be explained by none; it is communion with the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ, by the power and influence of the Holy Spirit.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and inseparable love. Strengthen me Lord so that in everything and in all circumstances, I am always thankful, and I do not feel anxious, instead I feel that Your peace which surpasses all comprehension, is guarding my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high and glorify Your Holy Name. August 9 Devotion - Abundance

 

Jesus said:

“Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

 أَعْطُوا، تُعْطَوْا: فَإِنَّكُمْ تُعْطَوْنَ فِي أَحْضَانِكُمْ كَيْلاً جَيِّداً مُلَبَّداً مَهْزُوزاً فَائِضاً، لأَنَّهُ بِالْكَيْلِ الَّذِي بِهِ تَكِيلُونَ، يُكَالُ لَكُمْ».

Luke 6:38

 

God applies what He preaches. He is a God of abundance! He is always giving us; He wants to pour out His abundance on us until we are so full that we are running over with His abundance.

We should notice however that Jesus said: "Give and it will be given to you." We need to start giving. Giving is not just financial. Spiritual, emotional, acts of service are included and required.

When we plant an orange seed, God gives us an orange tree with a single orange…No, he gives us an orange tree with an abundance of oranges. If we plant many orange seeds, we can get an orange grove. That's what happens when we obey God in our giving, we get an abundant harvest in return and when we give some away, the cycle repeats itself.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself and meditate on it:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and inseparable love. Thank You for the gift that no one else can give, salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to be a blessing to others and to give in the same way I want to receive, a good measure that is exceeding expectations. Father God, please help me to open the door to Your abundance in all areas of my life. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. August 3 Devotion - Keeping our faith high

 

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

فنرى انهم لم يقدروا ان يدخلوا لعدم الايمان

Hebrews 3:19

 

As Christian believers, faith is the foundation of our relationship to God.

Ways of keeping our faith high:

     •     Understanding the nature of God

     •     Remembering God’s power

     •     Focusing on Jesus and not our obstacles

 

We need to fill our minds with God’s truth. When we know the character of our heavenly Father, we will be prepared to respond with spiritual maturity when our faith is tested. As we plan to spend time with God today, let us focus on His characteristics which He has shown us.

The Lord longs for us to know and trust Him so that His perfect will may be carried out in our lives.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I confess that there are situations and events in my life which I fear. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my innermost being and personality, so that I can immerse myself in Your truth and that my strengthened faith in You will carry me through. Replace my focus on my obstacles Lord and shift it to Your love, mercy, grace, faithfulness, graciousness, power, wisdom and goodness. Father God, I thank You for loving me with a deep and everlasting love, thank You for Your abundant blessings and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. August 2 Devotion - When we feel down emotionally

 

When we feel down emotionally, we need to ask our Heavenly Father in prayer to cover us with His divine grace, wisdom, and strength.

We need to handle the situation according to His will in our lives.

We need to remember God’s promises, and we need to ask The Father to show us His purpose and teachings from what we are facing.

 

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that when I feel down emotionally, I always have the choice to convert my feelings to joy by concentrating on Your promises, for You have said:

 

Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength Nehemiah 8:10

وَلا تَحْزَنُوا لأَنَّ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ مُقَدَّسٌ لِسَيِّدِنَا، فَفَرَحُ الرَّبِّ هُوَ قُوَّتُكُمْ.

 

The righteous cry and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles, weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Psalms 34:17, Psalms 30:5

يَسْتَغِيثُ الأَبْرَارُ، فَيَسْمَعُ لَهُمُ الرَّبُّ وَيُنْقِذُهُمْ مِنْ جَمِيعِ ضِيقَاتِهِمْ.

يَبْقَى الْبُكَاءُ لِلَيْلَةٍ، أَمَّا فِي الصَّبَاحِ فَيَعُمُّ الابْتِهَاجُ.

 

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. Isaiah 43:2

إِذَا اجْتَزْتَ فِي وَسَطِ الْمِيَاهِ أَكُونُ مَعَكَ، وَإِنْ خُضْتَ الأَنْهَارَ لَا تَغْمُرُكَ. إِنْ عَبَرْتَ فِي النَّارِ لَا تَلْذَعُكَ. وَاللهِيبُ لَا يُحْرِقُكَ

 

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

لَا تَخَفْ لأَنِّي مَعَكَ. لَا تَتَلَفَّتْ حَوْلَكَ جَزَعاً، لأَنِّي إِلَهُكَ، أُشَدِّدُكَ وَأُعِينُكَ وَأَعْضُدُكَ بِيَمِينِ بِرِّي

 

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

إِذَنْ، تَوَاضَعُوا تَحْتَ يَدِ اللهِ القَدِيرَةِ لِكَيْ يَرْفَعَكُمْ عِنْدَمَا يَحِينُ الْوَقْتُ، 7 وَاطْرَحُوا عَلَيْهِ ثِقْلَ هُمُومِكُمْ كُلِّهَا، لأَنَّهُ هُوَ يَعْتَنِي بِكُمْ.

 

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

تَبَارَكَ اللهُ، أَبُو رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، أَبُو الْمَرَاحِمِ وَإِلَهُ كُلِّ تَعْزِيَةٍ، 4 هُوَ الَّذِي يُشَجِّعُنَا فِي كُلِّ ضِيقَةٍ نَمُرُّ بِها، حَتَّى نَسْتَطِيعَ أَنْ نُشَجِّعَ الَّذِينَ يَمُرُّونَ بِأَيَّةِ ضِيقَةٍ، بِالتَّشْجِيعِ الَّذِي بِهِ يُشَجِّعُنَا اللهُ.

 

Thank You Abba Father for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, inseparable and everlasting love. I pray to You Father in Jesus’ mighty name.

 

Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Ephesians 3:20-21. Amen.

July 29 Devotion - Suffering leads to HOPE

 

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, ⁴ endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.

فقط بل نفتخر ايضا في الضيقات عالمين ان الضيق ينشئ صبرا

 والصبر تزكية والتزكية رجاء

July 27 Devotion - It is ALL from God

 

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

1 Corinthians 4:7

 

Although we all want to feel good about ourselves, let us immediately recognize that everything we have is from God. Whatever blessings, beginning with our talents, our intelligence, our ability to speak languages, our successes, our wealth and going all the way to our salvation is from God. Whatever spiritual gifts we have are from God. Your voice, her organizational abilities, his preaching abilities, my writing abilities, and these devotions they are all from God, lest anyone should boast.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your deep and everlasting love for me. July 13 Devotion - Love God with All your soul

 

Part 2: With all your soul

 

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment

وتحب الرب الهك من كل قلبك ومن كل نفسك ومن كل فكرك ومن كل قدرتك هذه هي الوصية الاولى

Mark 12:30

 

The soul is the place where we make our decisions and choices that ultimately decide our behaviour (Some texts confuse soul and spirit; they are not the same.) If we treasure our relationship with the Lord our choices and behaviour will reflect that.

To bring my life (ship) in from the storm, the rudder (my choices and behaviour ) needs to be my love for God with all my soul. How do I do that? Jesus teaches me that:

 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

ان كنتم تحبونني فاحفظوا وصاياي .

 

John 14:15

So, my love for God with all my soul will be demonstrated by my choices and behaviour in keeping His commandments in my life, and the rudder of my ship is controlled by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

July 12 Devotion - Love God with All your heart

 

Part 1: With all your heart

 

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment

وتحب الرب الهك من كل قلبك ومن كل نفسك ومن كل فكرك ومن كل قدرتك هذه هي الوصية الاولى

Mark 12:30

 

When Jesus laid out the most important commandment for humanity, He started with loving the Lord with ALL our heart. I often wondered how I can love Jesus with all my heart.

The heart is where we keep our emotions, cares, and desires. The rudder of my ship is my cares and desires.

To bring my life (ship) in from the storm, the rudder (my cares and desires) needs to be my love for God with all my heart.

 

How do I do that? Jesus teaches me that:

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

لانه حيث يكون كنزك هناك يكون قلبك ايضا

Matthew 6:21

July 8 Devotion - Jesus is The Good Shepherd

 

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الرَّبَّ هُوَ اللهُ . هُوَ صَنَعَنَا وَنَحْنُ لَهُ، نَحْنُ شَعْبُهُ وَقَطِيعُ مَرْعَاهُ.

Psalm 100:3

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

أَنَا الرَّاعِي الصَّالِحُ، وَالرَّاعِي الصَّالِحُ يَبْذِلُ حَيَاتَهُ فِدَى خِرَافِهِ.

John 10:11 

God has always provided for His people through his unlimited resources. What a fantastic feeling it is to know that God’s love for us is so infinite that Jesus laid down His life to redeem us.

July 5 Devotion - In times of weakness

 

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

 فقال لي تكفيك نعمتي لان قوتي في الضعف تكمل.فبكل سرور افتخر بالحري في ضعفاتي لكي تحل علي قوة المسيح.

2 Corinthians 12:9

 

Our prayers are not always answered in the form in which we desire; however they are answered in the assurance of grace sufficient to support us. Grace signifies the good-will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten, strengthen and comfort us in all our afflictions and/or distresses.

 

I believe that one of the reasons why our prayers are not always answered in the way we requested may be that the grace that will be received if the calamity is not removed will be of greater value to the individual than would be the direct answer to his/her prayer.

 

When we feel weak, we need to go to Christ and enjoy His supplies of divine strength and grace.

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can respond prayerfully in times of weakness. July 4 Devotion - In The Son, not under the Sun

 

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done
      And on the labor in which I had toiled;
      And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind.

Abba Father, please give me wisdom to learn from King Solomon who ‘became great and excelled more than all who were before him’ yet found everything under the sun to be ‘vanity and grasping for the wind’. I come to You Father in the name of Your Son Jesus acknowledging, declaring and confessing that Jesus is The way, The truth, and The life and that no one can come to You Father except through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Strengthen me Jesus and teach me to be content under all circumstances as You taught the Apostle Paul and to be able to face any situation with the belief that ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’. June 30 Devotion- Ordered Steps

 

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.

من قبل الرب تتثبت خطوات الانسان وفي طريقه يسرّ.

Psalm 37:23 

We all need God’s support; even the most powerful must be supported by the Lord, without His support their strength and courage will be of no avail.

When we seek God and surrender to Jesus as our Lord and Saviour; our steps are established by The LORD, and we will delight in His choice for our lives.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please establish and guide my steps. Help me to stay in faith and put You first in my life. I trust that You are at work in my life even during times when I don't understand it. I am confident that Your guidance has placed me where I am supposed to be right now. Give me the strength and courage to do what is right in Your sight to Your delight. Thank You that through Your grace and mercy You care so much about every detail of my life. Father God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high. I thank You and adore You. June 30 Devotion - The Lord is Good

 

The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

 فَإِنَّ الرَّبَّ صَالِحٌ، إِلَى الأَبَدِ رَحْمَتُهُ وَأَمَانَتُهُ دَائِمَةٌ مِنْ جِيلٍ إِلَى جِيلٍ.

Psalm 100:5

 Because God is good, He only gives us what is best for us. Sometimes He says no and sometimes He gives us beyond our request and imagination, sometimes different than what we asked for, sometimes at a different timing but always what is best for us. I realize that God loves us with affection beyond imagination, and He knows us best because He fashioned every intricate fiber of our being.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

 لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ قَدْ كَوَّنْتَ كُلْيَتَيَّ. نَسَجْتَنِي دَاخِلَ بَطْنِ أُمِّي.

  أَحْمَدُكَ لأَنَّكَ صَنَعْتَنِي بِإِعْجَازِكَ الْمُدْهِشِ. مَا أَعْجَبَ أَعْمَالَكَ وَنَفْسِي تَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ يَقِيناً.

Psalm 139:13–14

It makes total sense, then, that God knows exactly what each one of us needs and what blessings would benefit us the most.

Abba Father, I thank You because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Lord, teach me to surrender totally to You and to realize that You are always looking out after me and doing what is best for me. Thank You Father God that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord, thank You that Your mercies are everlasting in my life. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your Holy Name.
