April 30 Devotion - Jesus is The Only Way to God

You put your TV on and hear that a food product manufactured by an international company has been found to contain a poisonous material. After you make sure you do not have any of it at home, what do you do? If you are like me, you call or email all your family and friends because you do not want any of them to be sick or die. You would not say I will not tell them because it may offend them!!!

Then why don’t we advise our friends and family, who we believe are going to hell, about the way to make it to heaven?

How can we believe that those who don’t accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour will end up in Hell, and not want to try and do something about it? Not want to try and point people to Jesus? Not want to try and save them?

For if we believe that only those who accept Jesus as the way, the truth and the life, are going to enter heaven then we are left with the unpleasant reality that all those who do not accept Jesus as the way, the truth and the life won’t enter heaven. They’ll be going to Hell.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6

I believe that only those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross, and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour are considered born again through the spirit and become children of God.

The truth is deemed offensive by the non-Christian world, so Christians tend to tone it done and try to be politically correct, emphasizing God’s love. Christians are neglecting to mention the fact that non-believers are going to Hell.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus, I confess that You are The way, The truth and The life. I thank You Jesus for redeeming me (buying me back) from the sin I was in by Your shed blood on The Cross. Thank You that I am saved, that I am spending eternity with You by accepting Jesus as my Saviour, and that Jesus is in control of my life because He is my Lord. Thank You God that I am reconciled to You through Jesus and that You have started the process of my sanctification and setting me apart for Your service. In the holy name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

April 29 Devotion - One God and One Mediator

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men.

1 Timothy 2:5-6

The word mediator, means a middle person, a peace-maker, one whose responsibility is to reconcile two parties at enmity. God was offended with the sins of humanity. To restore them to His peace, Jesus Christ was incarnated; and being God and man, both God and men met in and were reconciled by Him. But this reconciliation required a sacrifice on the part of the peace-maker or mediator.

We pray to and ask of Jesus directly. There are no other mediators to God and we do not need mediators to Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You Lord that Jesus redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, by His death on my behalf, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and my sole mediator to You Father. I pray that The Holy Spirit will dwell in my heart through faith. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

April 26 Devotion - God is Our Merciful Father

‘Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.’

‘I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.’

‘All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.’

Psalm 37
Psalm 40:1

2 Corinthians 1

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Father You are The God of Hope, fill me with Your Joy and Peace. (Romans 15:13). Give me wisdom to be ‘still’ in Your presence and the patience to wait for You to act. Teach me take delight in You LORD for You are the soul comforter. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’ Ephesians 3:20-21

April 25 Devotion - A double Portion

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Isaiah 61:7

God sent these promises and words of encouragement to His people when they were going through a very difficult time in the Old Testament.

The question I asked myself was: do these words apply to us; the believers in His Son and our Redeemer; today? Do they apply to the Christians who are persecuted for their faith all over the world today? Do they apply to my country of origin, Egypt, where Christians are persecuted and killed and churches being burned? Do these words apply today to any Christian believer who is facing personal challenges?

I believe they do because our Lord is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. God is always faithful to His Word. Let us rejoice then because our God will give us restoration and make all things better above and beyond our expectations. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You for Your faithfulness and wisdom. Abba, please strengthen my faith and help me to stay obedient to You so that I can receive what You promised as a double portion of blessings for my challenges in every area of my life. O’Lord guide and direct my steps to Your everlasting joy. Lord I pray for all The Christian Believers in the world who are suffering because of their faith. Let all things work together for good for them and grant them a double portion of peace and joy. I pray in the Holy Name of Jesus. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 24 Devotion - Becoming Christ-like

…since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus… For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power,

Colossians 1:9-11

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Abba, I pray without ceasing that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can discern Your will for my life and be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Strengthen me through Your Holy Spirit Lord, so that that I may walk in such a way that is fully pleasing to You, and is fruitful in every good work. Lord I desire and need to increase in Your knowledge. Help me Father to pray for others and to be Christ-like, fully pleasing You and being fruitful toward others through Your glorious strength. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 9 Devotion - God's Glory is upon you

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.

Isaiah 60:1

I believe God has wonderful things planned for each one of us and that He will give us blessings that may currently seem impossible to us. Even the dreams we may have given up on, God has not given up on, as long as they are aligned with His will and plan for our lives.

We need to listen to God with our hearts and not let discouragement hold us back. Through faith each one of us can receive all the blessings God has prepared for us individually and move forward in the destiny He has planned for each one of us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You Lord for choosing me to be Your child and for preparing a bright future for me. Help me Lord; through the Holy Spirit; to accept Your blessings with a humble heart and to always honour You and praise Your Holy Name. Thank You for letting Your glory shine upon me. Help me to open the door to Your abundance in all areas of my life. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 8 Devotion - Be anxious for nothing

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Anxiety distracts the mind from communion with God. ‘Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow…but empties today of its strength’ (Charles Spurgeon)

We are not allowed to worry about anything and we are to pray about everything. Through thankful prayer we can declare to God our anxious thoughts and have faith that He will fill our hearts and mind with His peace when we leave our anxieties at The Cross.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, You know exactly where I am emotionally and mentally and I know as per Jesus’ promise You will comfort me. Father, I believe that sometimes You do allow the pressures of life to build so that I can learn how to deal with them from a position of faith and not fear. Thank You for not condemning me for my feelings, and for providing wisdom for all I face. Strengthen me so as not to feel anxious and to be always thankful so that Your peace which surpasses all comprehension, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus and in whose Holy name I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 5 Devotion - I will give you rest

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

We are invited to come to Jesus and lay down all our burdens at the foot of His Cross. He has all things relating to our peace, comfort, happiness, and salvation in His hands. When Jesus says ‘and I will give you rest’ I believe He means spiritual rest, peace of conscience, ease of mind, tranquillity of soul, through His pardoning grace.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. I thank You and trust in You with all my heart. Help me Lord to always lean on You and not on my own abilities. I acknowledge You God as the gracious, merciful and sovereign creator and master of the universe. I thank You Lord that You are directing my path to always follow Your Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus, I put all my worries and problems at the foot of Your cross. I know that You will give me peace and joy, and fill my heart with Your love, because You died for the forgiveness of my sins and to redeem me and declare me righteous in the eyes of the LORD. I pray to the Father in Your Holy name Jesus. Amen.

April 4 Devotion - Give and it will be given to you

Jesus said:

“Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Luke 6:38

God applies what He preaches. He is a God of abundance! He is always giving us; He wants to pour out His abundance on us until we are so full that we are running over with His abundance.

We should notice however that Jesus said: "Give and it will be given to you." We need to start giving. Giving is not just financial. Giving includes the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control.

When we plant an orange seed, does God give us an orange tree with a single orange? No, he gives us an orange tree with an abundance of oranges. If we plant many orange seeds we can get an orange grove. That's what happens when we obey God in our giving; we get an abundant harvest in return. Then when we give some more away, the cycle repeats itself.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings, You are so loving and caring. Thank You for the gift that no one else can give, salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to be a blessing to others and to give in the same way I want to receive, a good measure that is exceeding expectations. Help me to open the door to Your abundance in all areas of my life. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 3 Devotion - Forgive us

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

The good news of ‘The New Testament’ is that when we receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the past is erased in God’s eyes. We may make mistakes from time to time but if we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. God help me to uproot any negative seeds that I have sown in the past and help me to sow Godly seeds into my future. I want to reap the harvest of being in Your will and reap the blessings You have prepared for me. Teach me to always confess my sins to You and to receive Your cleansing of all unrighteousness. Lead me O’Lord in the way everlasting. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

April 2 Devotion - "Abba, Father"

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:15

When a family adopts a child, they forge a very strong relationship with the adopted child as the will and intention of the adoptive family is to love the adoptee and make him/her a member of their family. It is in this sense that God adopts us when we accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The desire of our ‘Abba’ is to demonstrate His love for the world by enlarging His family.

‘Abba’ is in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus and it means Father.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You that You have spiritually adopted me as Your child through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Lord take away any bondage in my life and help me to gain my greatest sense of control by knowing that Your hand of providence guides my life. Abba, give me an unwavering confidence that there is never a time, a trial, or a temptation when I am outside Your presence. The Prophet Isaiah wrote, “In quietness and trust is your strength”. Grant me this quietness and trust Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

April 1 Devotion - Jesus' Resurrection

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Peter, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once.

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1 Corinthians 15: 3-5, Romans 10:8-10

Believing that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead is essential for Christians. Merely recognizing that He died for our sins is not enough; we must accept His resurrection in order to receive eternal life. Christ paid our debt, but His sacrifice on the cross means nothing if He possesses no power over the grave. In vanquishing evil and death, the Lord made our salvation possible.

Resurrection is not a denominational issue or a point for theological debate. Either we believe Christ rose from the dead and ascended to heaven or we do not. If we reject His victory over the grave, we deny ourselves a place in eternity. But if we accept the truth, Paul assures that we will be saved.

Jesus’ resurrection proved He was able to remove sin and its penalty.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus I confess that You are my Saviour and Lord, and believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. Jesus I thank you for saving me through your atoning death on the cross at Calvary and for justifying me and making me righteous in the eyes of God our Father. Thank you Jesus that because I believe in Your resurrection I am granted eternal life. In Your name Jesus I pray. Amen.
