August 31 Devotion - Resolving Conflict

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor [perpetual animosity, resentment, strife, fault-finding] and slander be put away from you, along with every kind of malice [all spitefulness, verbal abuse, malevolence]. Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Ephesians 4:31-32

As we see from Jesus’ actions and words in Matthew 21:12-13 (see text at the end of the devotion) anger is not intrinsically wrong. Anger in response to sin and its ill effects is a form of righteous anger, but when it crosses over the boundary into bitterness or a spirit of vengeance, it is not honouring to God.

Our health and well-being are important reasons for quick resolution of an angry conflict; bitterness must definitely be avoided.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please do not let anger control me. Teach me to resolve conflict and to replace it with a win-win alternative and to be tenderhearted toward the person I am having conflict with but without accepting a martyr lose-win alternative for myself. Please work on their heart also. Lord, help me to get rid of any desire to get revenge, and to be able to quickly forgive just as You God have forgiven me in Christ. Lord, please help me to realize that my total dependence on You to help me forgive is not an indication of weakness on my part, but a sign of strength and confidence in You and Your promises. Father, I thank You for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me and for Your abundant blessings in my life. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray to You Father. To  Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

 Jesus loves you,

In Him,

Wagdi Henein

And Jesus entered the temple [grounds] and drove out [with force] all who were buying and selling [birds and animals for sacrifice] in the temple area, and He turned over the tables of the moneychangers [who made a profit exchanging foreign money for temple coinage] and the chairs of those who were selling doves [for sacrifice]. 13 Jesus said to them, “It is written [in Scripture], My house shall be called a house of prayer’; but you are making it a robbers’ den.”

August 30 Devotion - PEACE BARRIERS

Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

2 Peter 3:14

Our quest for true peace begins at birth. As babies, we long for our mother’s comforting arms; as children we yearn for happy experiences that are void of fear; and as adults we strive to find success and fulfillment through jobs and relationships. These pursuits are desirable, but temporal.

Lasting peace cannot be attained through our own efforts, but rather through Christ in us. The peace that comes from Him is eternal. Until you have peace with God, you cannot experience the peace of God.

If you have accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and are not experiencing peace, it is time to examine your relationship with God. Your bond with Him is the foundation upon which real peace is built.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I long for Your peace as surely as I have sought peace on my own throughout my life. Jesus, please show me the barriers to everlasting peace in my life and help me to overcome them through The Holy Spirit. Father God, please expose anything that may be preventing me from receiving the peace that only You can give, and help me to listen with an open heart and receive what You reveal to me through Your teachings, the Scriptures, or Your own voice. When the barriers are removed, help me to rejoice in Your faithfulness Lord. Thank You Father God for loving me with a deep and everlasting love, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

August 29 Devotion - Believe and you will See

By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

Hebrews 11:3

Amplified Bible (AMP)

This verse tells me that I have to look with my eyes of faith because the provision, healing and miracle I need is already available in God’s realm.

I believe that I was created by Almighty God to live a blessed and fulfilled life.

I believe that many of us may be living below the emotional, financial, social, and spiritual level of what God truly intended for us because we do not have enough faith and imagination to see God’s plan and have enough faith to believe how it could happen.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please strengthen me so that I can look with my eyes of faith and believe that You have a glorious plan for my life and see it materialize because that which I will see was not made out of things which are visible. Jesus said: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 Father God, I thank You, praise You, glorify You, and lift You up on high. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the holy name of Your only begotten Son Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

August 28 Devotion - Walking in The Light

In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. When His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness; He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.

Psalm 138:3, Job 29:3, Luke 1:49

When we walk in the light of God's countenance, every outward comfort is increased, every trouble is diminished, and we pass cheerfully by this light through life. When we rely on His loving-kindness and truth through Jesus Christ, we will always find Him faithful to His word.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord for Your promises to guide me and to comfort me through the most difficult circumstances. In the day when I cried out to You God, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. As I look back on my life, I see how You protected me God through the darkest hours and helped me walk in the light of Your countenance. I can boldly say that He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings. I praise You; I glorify You, and I claim Your promises. I believe that You will continue to do great things for me and will give me wisdom, strength, and peace. In Jesus’ precious holy name, I pray. To Jesus be the majesty, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

August 25 Devotion - The Lord Gives Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

James 1:5, Proverbs 2:6

We can define wisdom as the ability; or result of an ability; to think and act utilizing knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. As Proverbs 16:16 puts it, “To get wisdom is better than gold” The ultimate, eternal happiness that all people long for will only be found by those who first “get wisdom.”

And the child (Jesus) grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

Luke 2:40; 52

When the Sabbath came, Jesus began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.

“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him?

Mark 6:2

Jesus told the disciples that when persecution begins to grow..

“I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.”

.. indicating that He, as God, is the true source of all wisdom.

Luke 21:15

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please fill me with Your wisdom and help me to think and talk through Your wisdom. I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that every decision I make will be based on Your wisdom. Teach me Your ways O’Lord and help me to walk in Your path always counseling me and course-correcting me whenever I drift. Jesus, I know that You are the light of the world, strengthen me to always follow You. In Jesus’ name I pray. To Him be the power, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

August 23 Devotion - The Holy Spirit

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”

John 14:16–17

We need the Holy Spirit; whom God sends to live in every believer; to:

  1. Comfort us when we experience pain and sorrow.
  2. Guide us into the full truth about Jesus Christ.
  3. Direct our steps daily, and to help us make wise choices and Godly decisions.
  4. Remind us of God’s commandments and the truth of Jesus Christ so we will know what to do and what to say in any situation in which we find ourselves.
  5. Convict us of our sins and errors so we can repent and make positive changes in our lives.
  6. Defeat evil on our behalf.
  7. Conform us to the image of Christ Jesus.
  8. We need the Holy Spirit to make us whole.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I want to be so intimate with You that I can hear Your voice and have divine wisdom for every decision. Heavenly Father, I know Your way is best, no matter how good the other options appear. Attune my ears and heart to the voice of Your Holy Spirit. Make me willing to obey. Thank You Father God for Your inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me and Your abundant blessings in my life. Lord, I praise You, glorify You, and lift You up on high. May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of my faith that by the power of The Holy Spirit I will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in God's promises. Romans 15:13 In the holy name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In Him,

August 22 Devotion-UNLOAD YOUR CARES

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

For God has said:

‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Philippians 4:6

Isaiah 41:10

Many times, our fears result from imaginary thoughts, things that will never happen or come true. By crying out to God and unloading our cares and burdens on Him, He is assured of (and we are reminded of) our dependence on Him. And that is what pleases Him. Even before our prayers are answered, we feel peace.

When you come up against a fear–producing situation, immediately pray for God’s wisdom and protection, admit your inner struggle, and leave it in God’s hands for God is omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (always present), and omniscient (all-knowing).

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please strengthen me to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I present my requests to You. Cover me with Your grace Lord so that I feel confident of Your promise to strengthen me, help me to always unload my burden upon You and uphold me with Your righteous right hand. My heavenly Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen..

August 21 Devotion - God will strengthen you

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

Isaiah 41:10

John 16:33

God speaks with tenderness; fear not, for I am present with you. When we are weak, He will strengthen us. When we are in need, He will help us. When we fall, He will uphold us with His right hand which is full of righteousness. In His hand, there is victory, strength, and provision. In His hand there is everything we need.

In contrast to our assumption that having peace means the absence of conflict, tribulations or distress Jesus promises that His peace becomes apparent in the very middle of trouble and conflict. Troubles remind us to ask for Jesus' peace. God's answer will not usually mean that the problem will be over, but that Christ's peace will see us through it.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, in times of trouble please remind me to ask in prayer for Jesus’ peace and give me the faith that His peace will see me through my troubles. Father God, please help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You and obeying Your word. Lord, even when things do not make sense to me and are beyond my control, remind me that nothing is beyond Your ability. Lord, I know that You are upholding me with Your righteous right hand to make everything work together for my good. Thank You Father for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

August 18 Devotion - The Father of mercies and God of all comfort

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

We need to always remember especially when we are going through periods of severe pain that our God is The God of all comfort. Jesus understands our heartache, rejection, and pain because He himself went through it. Our Saviour stands as the Great High Priest offering us mercy and grace. The Holy Spirit, The comforter, who is dwelling within every believer, will remind us of all the promises of God and encourage us and channel the love of Jesus to sustain us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, teach me to depend on You totally and to call out Your name always in praise and thanksgiving, especially during the difficult, painful, dark, and desperate periods of life. Lord You can mend my broken heart, to heal my most painful wounds, and also to give me hope and joy under the heaviest sorrows. Father, I praise You, I bless You, and I glorify You. God, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being so that I can transfer Your comfort which I receive, to those who are suffering and in need. Jesus, Prince of Peace, You said: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”    John 14:27I rejoice that You long to comfort and encourage me Jesus and I thank You that amid my tribulations, You are my rock. To You be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 16 Devotion - Strengthen your faith and be ready to receive

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

 Psalm 23:6

Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

Isaiah 54:2

I believe that God has many blessings prepared for us. David had faith and was expecting God to supply goodness and mercy for the rest of his life and was ready to receive the blessings. Isaiah had faith and a vision.

We need to have that kind of faith and vision, to increase our capacity to receive so that we can live the abundant life Jesus came to give us, for Jesus Himself said:

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love. Jesus, I want to experience the abundant life You came to give me. Lord, please enormously strengthen my faith and enlarge my vision of my service to You, and my future. Lord, make me ready to receive all the blessings You want and are ready to give me. Help me to have a deep belief that goodness and mercy will follow me for the rest of my life. I declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour. In the precious name of Your only begotten Son Jesus, I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 15 Devotion - Salvation is only through Jesus Christ

God our Savior, wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6

God wants everyone to be ‘saved’ (delivered from judgment and given eternal life). It is His desire. That is why He came down in the form of a man Jesus Christ to save us. So how do we become saved?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

 John14:6

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].

Ephesians 2:8-9

Jesus answered Nicodemus:

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be surprised that I have told you, ‘You must be born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].’

 John 3: 5-7

When a person accepts Jesus as his/her Saviour and makes Him Lord over his/her life, when that person declares verbally, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, that person receives The Holy Spirit, is born again and is saved.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can repent of my sins and invite You Jesus in my heart. I believe that You died in my place Jesus to redeem me and that You took all my sins and nailed them to The Cross. I believe that You were raised from the dead and that You ascended to God our Father and are seated with God in the heavenly realms. I declare that Jesus is Lord, I receive The Holy Spirit. I know that by accepting You Jesus as my Saviour that my sins are forgiven and by making You Lord over my Life Jesus I am born again. Strengthen me Lord to bury the old life, and to be resurrected to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Thank You God that through Your grace You delivered me from judgment and have given me eternal life. Lord, please sink this message deep into my heart and in the hearts of those reading it and achieve Your desire that all people be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,
