Remember now your
Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the
years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”
فاذكر خالقك في ايام شبابك قبل ان تأتي ايام الشر او تجيء السنون
اذ تقول ليس لي فيها سرور.
Ecclesiastes 12:1
What is your definition
of youth? I look at it this way: When I was 10 years old, someone who was 30 in
comparison looked ‘old’. When I reached 30 I remember telling my friends wow we
are ‘old’, how did that happen so quickly? We are no longer ‘youth’, however I
quickly realized that 20 years into the future we will look at 30 years old as
‘youth’. That example carries on, when you are 90, 60 looks like ‘youth’. So
Ecclesiastes 12:1 applies to all of us independent of age, let us remember our
creator NOW.
I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba
Father, help me Lord to remember You NOW and all the time
in my youth and in my ‘old’ age, in my going out and in my coming in, in my
labour and in my leisure, in my laughter and in my tears. Thank you Father that
through my joy in You I will never get to a state where I will say about my
years: “I
have no pleasure in them”. Thank You my heavenly Father that You care so much
about me that I can always cast all my anxiety upon You. Father God I pray to You in the name of The King of
kings and Lord of lords, my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus
Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the
dominion before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Jesus loves you,
In Him,
Wagdi Henein
