Therefore
do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all
liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Ephesians 5:17, James 1:5
What does wisdom mean to you?
Wisdom means to me:
- That I seek God’s will for my life and follow His
plan
- That I always act according to the spirit of the
Biblical Commandments
- That I understand the consequences of my actions
and words before I act or speak
- To have the knowledge and understanding to
recognize the right course of action & to have the will &
courage to follow it.
God invites us to pray for wisdom, to
request it. Why then do so many Christians sometimes act in an unwise manner?
Maybe it is because they never prayed and requested wisdom, maybe it is because
they are unaware that they lack wisdom or maybe because they developed a habit
of acting out based on emotions. We all need the guidance and conviction of The
Holy Spirit to always act wisely.
I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, please help me to clearly see Your plan and will for my
life. Holy Spirit, I need Your wisdom to guide all my actions. Lord, help me to
listen to the direction of The Holy Spirit within me. Strengthen my faith to
clearly realize that You are my rock in whom I take refuge. You are my
salvation and my stronghold. Thank You Lord for Your abundant blessings and
Your deep, everlasting and inseparable love for me. In the Holy Name of Jesus,
I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty,
the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
In Him,
Wagdi Henein
