September 22 Devotion - Apart from Jesus we can do nothing

 


Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

Psalms127:1

إِنْ لَمْ يَبْنِ الرَّبُّ الْبَيْتَ، فَبَاطِلاً يَتْعَبُ الْبَنَّاؤُونَ. وَإِنْ لَمْ يَحْرُسِ الرَّبُّ الْمَدِينَةَ فَبَاطِلاً يَسْهَرُ الْحَارِسُ.

 

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;

apart from me you can do nothing”

John 15:5

 أَنَا الْكَرْمَةُ وَأَنْتُمُ الأَغْصَانُ. مَنْ يَثْبُتُ فِيَّ وَأَنَا فِيهِ، فَذَاكَ يُنْتِجُ ثَمَراً كَثِيراً. فَإِنَّكُمْ بِمَعْزِلٍ عَنِّي لاَ تَقْدِرُونَ أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا شَيْئاً.

I believe God runs everything in our lives. I also believe that God has planned every day of the life of each one of us before He created the world. If we preach to non-believers, unless God is there touching their hearts we are working in vain. The same applies to building anything or working on any project or defending our position we need God to bless our work to achieve the desired results.

Jesus tells us that He is the vine; we are the branches.  Without an attachment to Him, we would be unable to do anything, including living and breathing.

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and deep inseparable love for me. God, I acknowledge that You are operating everything according to the counsel of Your own will.  Ephesians 1:11 Help me Lord to acknowledge You in all my ways so that You direct my paths. Proverbs 3:6 Lord even if I let my heart to plan my way, but I trust that You Lord will direct my steps. Proverbs 16:9 Jesus I acknowledge that I can do nothing without You please remain in me and help me to always remain in You. Lord I am blessed that You promised that You will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; and You will guide me with Your eye. Psalm 32:8 In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the holy name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

September 20 Devotion - Time for Repayment

 


There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ أَوَانٌ، وَلِكُلِّ أَمْرٍ تَحْتَ السَّمَاءِ زَمَانٌ

Ecclesiastes 3:1

 

  واعوض لكم عن السنين التي اكلها الجراد

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten

Joel 2:25

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Thank You that You care so much about every detail of my life. Lord, I know You will heal every single hurt and pain. You will restore all that has been lost. You see the longings and desires of my heart. I know that You have my best interest at heart. I will keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right things because the One who repays for the years the locusts have eaten will restore every area in my life. September 19 Devotion - To live is Christ

 


What did the Apostle Paul mean when he said?

 

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

لأَنَّ لِيَ الْحَيَاةَ هِيَ الْمَسِيحُ وَالْمَوْتُ هُوَ رِبْحٌ

Philippians 1:21


While the second phrase ‘to die is gain’ helps us focus on the joy of being with Jesus in paradise, the first part of the phrase ‘to live is Christ’; I believe; is essential and should be at the core of every Christian’s life. Every day we should be growing in the knowledge of Christ and advancing to become Christ-like. We need to proclaim the gospel of Christ, the great commission (Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations) should be central to our lives.

To live is Christ means that every believer should give up anything that prevents him/her from having Christ in them.


I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please teach me and help me so that that everything I try to be, everything I am, and everything I look forward to being, points to Christ. Jesus, I want that my thoughts and actions bring glory to You. Father God, I thank You for loving me with a deep and everlasting love, thank You for Your abundant blessings and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Now to Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now, and forevermore. Ephesians 3:20-21 Amen.

September 18 Devotion - When We Feel Frustrated

 

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

 وَكَذلِكَ الرُّوحُ أَيْضًا يُعِينُ ضَعَفَاتِنَا، لأَنَّنَا لَسْنَا نَعْلَمُ مَا نُصَلِّي لأَجْلِهِ كَمَا يَنْبَغِي. وَلكِنَّ الرُّوحَ نَفْسَهُ يَشْفَعُ فِينَا بِأَنَّاتٍ لاَ يُنْطَقُ بِهَا.

Romans 8:26

 

The Webster Dictionary defines Frustration as: A deep chronic sense or state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs.

As humans we sometimes experience a deep sense of frustration that derives from problems or needs beyond our control. What we need to remember during the period of frustration is: God is in the process of revealing a great lesson to each one of us.

I believe He allows frustrations to build up so that we will be driven back to Him in prayer. His intent is twofold:

  1. He wants us to become stronger, lighter, and peaceful once we get on our knees and pray
  2. In that mode we can hear His voice better and understand His direction for us.

Abba Father, I need The Holy Spirit to meet my supplication and to plead on my behalf for I do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as I ought. Jesus, come to me like You came to Your disciples walking on the water through the storm and help me to sail through my storm Jesus and strengthen me spiritually, emotionally, and physically and give me rest for in Your holy name I pray. September 15 Devotion - Rejoice before God

 



 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

 3 أَمَّا الأَبْرَارُ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَفْرَحُونَ وَيَبْتَهِجُونَ أَمَامَ اللهِ وَيَغْتَبِطُونَ سُرُوراً.

فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

 9 لأَنَّهُ أَشْبَعَ النَّفْسَ الْمُتَلَهِّفَةَ وَمَلأَ النَّفْسَ الْجَائِعَةَ خَيْراً.

 

Psalm 68:3, Psalm 107:8-9

 

Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, after God, and communion with Him, shall be filled with the goodness of His house, both in grace and glory.

Abba Father, please fill my heart, soul, and mind with Your joy, help me to exceedingly rejoice and to feel internal peace and gladness. Teach me to have an outward expression of joy and love and caring for others that demonstrates Your wonderful deeds for me and Your spirit and love. Thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your holy name. Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation and unfailing love through Jesus Christ Your Son, and my Lord and Saviour. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. September 14 Devotion - Bless The Lord at all times


 

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

 يَارَبُّ ارْحَمْنَا. إِيَّاكَ انْتَظَرْنَا، كُنْ عَضُدَنَا فِي الصَّبَاحِ، وَخَلاَصَنَا فِي أَثْنَاءِ الْمِحْنَةِ.

Isaiah 33:2

 

It would be great to wake up every morning anticipating and expecting God’s blessings and to follow that with praises for The Almighty all day.

 

Whatever is happening to us or around us we have the option to choose thoughts and words that empower us and give us joy; or thoughts and words that can diminish our enthusiasm and negatively impact our health.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please teach me to wake up with enthusiasm regarding each day and fill my mouth with words of praise for Your blessings, love, and grace and remind me to keep doing that all day for You have promised: ‘For those who honour Me I will honour’ 1 Samuel 2:30.  Lord, I rejoice in Your promise to pour out Your favour on me and lead my life, and to bless me with health, strength and blessings all the days of my life. God bless me with the gift of always having Your name on my lips. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your holy name. I declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour. In the name of Your only begotten Son Jesus, I pray to You Father. September 13 Devotion - The Peace of God

 


I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety..

Psalm 4:8

 بِسَلاَمَةٍ أَضْطَجعُ بَلْ أَيْضًا أَنَامُ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ مُنْفَرِدًا فِي طُمَأْنِينَةٍ تُسَكِّنُنِي

Trying circumstances often are the biggest inhibitors of experiencing the peace of God. The situation is in God’s hands. He is in control despite appearances. He can bring about a solution, whenever and however He chooses.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You Lord that in You I can dwell in safety. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can carry out Your instructions ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5:7 and cast my burdens and anxiety on You in prayer, to tell You what bothers me and robs my joy and peace, and to have a strong faith that You heard me and will answer. I want to experience Your heavenly peace and sleep in Your safety. Heavenly Father, whenever the pressures mount, help me to remember that You have taken all my cares upon Yourself. I cast my anxiety and burdens on You, knowing that everything is in Your care. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. To Jesus be the majesty, the glory, the power, and the dominion. Amen.

September 12 Devotion - Hope and Confidence


So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word. I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.

 لنتمسك باقرار الرجاء راسخا لان الذي وعد هو امين.

أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ بِهَذَا كُلِّهِ لِيَكُونَ لَكُمْ فِيَّ سَلاَمٌ.

Hebrews 10:23, John 16:33

 

I need to focus on God’s grace and unconditional love and on His power and ability to control all circumstances. Maybe you feel the same way about your personal circumstances. Let us focus on His always-listening ear and His always-watchful eye, for He Who promised is reliable and faithful to His word. 

I believe that when we keep focusing on God, our thoughts about our problems diminish and our hope increases.

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me and spiritually energize me with power through Your Spirit in my innermost being and personality, so that I can seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope of a better future and the confidence in Your reliability and faithfulness to Your word. May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of my faith that by the power of The Holy Spirit I will abound in hope & overflow with confidence in God's promises. September 11 Devotion - Children of God

 

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

أَمَّا الَّذِينَ قَبِلُوهُ، أَيِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاسْمِهِ، فَقَدْ مَنَحَهُمُ الْحَقَّ فِي أَنْ يَصِيرُوا أَوْلاَدَ اللهِ،

John 1:12 

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

تَأَمَّلُوا مَا أَعْظَمَ الْمَحَبَّةَ الَّتِي أَحَبَّنَا بِهَا الآبُ حَتَّى صِرْنَا نُدْعَى «أَوْلاَدَ اللهِ»، وَنَحْنُ أَوْلاَدُهُ حَقّاً. وَلَكِنْ، بِمَا أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْعَالَمِ لاَ يَعْرِفُونَ اللهَ، فَهُمْ لاَ يَعْرِفُونَنَا.

1 John 3

All human beings are by nature heirs of sin, and guilt, and the curse of God; all by practice are children of corruption, disobedience, and ingratitude. All are offered a transformation by the grace of God. This transformation is made possible by the atoning and redeeming blood of Christ and our acceptance through faith that Jesus died on our behalf, was resurrected from the dead, and by our declaration by mouth and actions that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. When we accept Jesus as our Saviour and follow His commandments God allows us to call Him Father, and treat us as His children.

Abba Father, thank You that You love me so much that You have given Your only begotten Son Jesus to die for my sins so that I can become a child of God. I receive You Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and believe in Your name. As a child of God, I will walk by faith, and live by hope. Help me God to see my transformed self as You see me; a unique, irreplaceable, and beloved creation with a divine and eternal plan and purpose. I hold my head up and face the world with the knowledge that I am a child of God, and my Father is the King of the universe. Thank You Father God for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep, and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I praise You and glorify You. I pray that every person will believe in Your name Jesus and become a child of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. September 9 Devotion- Intercession

 


Intercession is not just praying for someone else's needs. Intercession is praying with the real hope and real intent that God would step in and act for the positive advancement of some specific other person(s). It is trusting that God will act, even if it's not in the way or timing we seek. The best gift we can give each other is to intercede for each other. Praying for another person not only helps that person find God in the midst of trouble, but also helps us recognize the blessings that God gives us daily. Let us intercede for all those people needing prayers and support all over the world in these difficult times.

 

Jesus prayed for us to The Father, and the apostle Paul prayed for others to Jesus and God.

 

Jesus prayed for us:

“I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their

[the 12  Apostles] message, 21 that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me. “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me, and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

John 17:20-21 Amplified Bible (AMP)

وَلَسْتُ أُصَلِّي مِنْ أَجْلِ هؤُلاَءِ فَقَطْ، بَلْ أَيْضاً مِنْ أَجْلِ الَّذِينَ سَوْفَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي بِسَبَبِ كَلِمَةِ هؤُلاَءِ، 21 لِيَكُونَ الْجَمِيعُ وَاحِداً؛ أَيُّهَا الآبُ، كَمَا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ فِيَّ وَأَنَا فِيكَ، لِيَكُونُوا هُمْ أَيْضاً وَاحِداً فِينَا، لِكَيْ يُؤْمِنَ الْعَالَمُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي


I pray for you and invite you to pray along with the Apostle Paul for others in your lives:

‘I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. September 7 Devotion - "Abba, Father"

 


For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

 إِذْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَنَالُوا رُوحَ عُبُودِيَّةٍ يُعِيدُكُمْ إِلَى الْخَوْفِ، بَلْ نِلْتُمْ رُوحَ بُنُوَّةٍ بِهِ نَصْرُخُ: «أَبَا! أَبَانَا!»

Romans 8:15

 

When a family adopts a child, they forge a very strong relationship with the adopted child because the will and intention of the adoptive family is to love the adoptee and make him/her a member of their family. It is in this sense that God adopts us when we accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The desire of our ‘Abba’ is to demonstrate His love for the world by enlarging His family.

‘Abba’ is in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus. It is a very endearing meaning for Father equivalent to ‘Daddy’ in English.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You that You have spiritually adopted me as Your child through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Lord, please take away any bondage in my life and help me to gain my greatest sense of control by knowing that Your hand of providence guides my life. Abba, give me an unwavering confidence that there is never a time, a trial, or a temptation when I am outside Your presence. The Prophet Isaiah wrote, “In quietness and trust is Your strength”. Grant me this quietness and trust Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

تعالوا اليّ يا جميع المتعبين والثقيلي الاحمال وانا اريحكم

Matthew 11:28

 

This is an invitation to all of us who labour and are heavy laden, and to all the Christians who are persecuted everywhere.

I invite you to Pray and please share with others.  


Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding,

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

September 5 Devotion - The glory of the Lord

 



May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works—

 يكون مجد الرب الى الدهر. يفرح الرب باعماله.

Psalm 104:31


I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart.

    I will glorify your name forever.

 مِنْ كُلِّ كِيَانِي أُسَبِّحُكَ يَا إلَهِي،

وَإلَى الأبَدِ سَأُكْرِمُ اسْمَكَ!


Psalm 86:12

As we behold the works of the LORD, we find our hearts gladdened. Our God the creator Himself must have felt unspeakable delight in exercising so much love, wisdom, goodness, and power. We are filled with wonder at the beauty and variety of the works of God on the land, in the air, and in the waters. All the glory of man will pass away; but the glory of our God who has made the earth, and filled it with such wonders, can never cease and will endure forever and ever.


I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father may Your glory endure forever in my heart and on my lips, in my soul, mind, actions, feeling and spirit. Help me God to follow Jesus and become Christ-Like so that Your heart will rejoice in what You have done in me. I will praise You, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever. September 4 Devotion - Rejoice before God


 

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

 3 أَمَّا الأَبْرَارُ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَفْرَحُونَ وَيَبْتَهِجُونَ أَمَامَ اللهِ وَيَغْتَبِطُونَ سُرُوراً.

فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

 9 لأَنَّهُ أَشْبَعَ النَّفْسَ الْمُتَلَهِّفَةَ وَمَلأَ النَّفْسَ الْجَائِعَةَ خَيْراً.

 

Psalm 68:3, Psalm 107:8-9

 

Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, after God, and communion with Him, shall be filled with the goodness of His house, both in grace and glory.

 

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please fill my heart, soul, and mind with Your joy, help me to exceedingly rejoice and to feel internal peace and gladness. Teach me to have an outward expression of joy and love and caring for others that demonstrates Your spirit and love. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your holy name. Thank You Lord that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever and thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I declare that Jesus is my Saviour and Lord and in His name I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
