May 31 Devotion - The Lord is Good

The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

Psalm 100:5

Because God is good, He only gives us what is best for us. Sometimes He says no, sometimes He gives us beyond our request and imagination. Sometimes different than what we asked for, sometimes at a different timing but always what is best for us. I realize that God loves us with affection beyond imagination, and He knows us best because He fashioned every intricate fiber of our being.

For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.

Psalm 139:13–14

It makes total sense, then, that God knows exactly what each one of us needs and what blessings would benefit us the most. He also knows the best timing for us to receive His blessings.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I thank You because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Lord, teach me to surrender totally to You and to realize that You are always looking out after me and doing what is best for me. Thank You Father God that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord, thank You that Your mercies are everlasting in my life. Father God, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, and glorify Your holy name. I declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and in His name I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion before all time, now, and forevermore. Amen.

May 28 Devotion - Love and Compassion

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands; you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

John 15: 9-12

As followers of Christ, His love to us should direct us to love each other. Jesus commands us to love each other in the same way He loves us. As we know, Jesus loves us with a tender affection, willing to endure trials for us, willing to practice self-denial for our sake and He did lay down His life for us. Can we simulate that? On our own we cannot, but we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Philippians 2:4

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God.

Isaiah 40:1

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

2 Cor. 1:3–4

Jesus teaches us to break the spirit of selfishness, and to have a benevolent regard for the happiness of others. Jesus teaches us to be kind to one another and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. We need to be compassionate one to another in order to experience the benefit of God’s compassion toward us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for comforting me, for sending Your Holy Spirit; the Parakletos, the comforter, to indwell in me. LORD help me and teach me how to comfort others with the comfort You have given me and are giving me. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can care about others as much as I care about myself and esteem others and be concerned for their interests. God, teach me to be humble according to Your will and teach me to be compassionate and sympathetic to all Your children. Jesus, help me to obey your commands through the Holy Spirit which indwells in me. Thank You Lord for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Lord, I praise You, I glorify You, I lift You up on high and I rejoice in You. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 27 Devotion - Closed and Open Doors

“These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He who has the key [to the house] of David, He who opens and no one will [be able to] shut, and He who shuts and no one opens

Revelation 3:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)

What should we do when a door that we were sure God opened, God now closes? We sometimes console ourselves by the cliché ‘When God closes a door, He opens a window’. Research revealed to my dismay that this cliché is not found in the Bible. We then find ourselves back into a season of waiting……waiting for God to reopen that door or another door. The door may be a lost relationship, a job, a health situation etc. Many of us have experienced closed doors and are in a state of waiting.

I have experienced gratitude for some doors that God closed and thanked Him for closing them (later when I understood it was best for me). I am in a state of waiting for Him to open the right door. There are doors God opened that I was not trying to open, and I thanked Him for doing that, He also opened doors that I never knew existed.

I believe that for me (and maybe for you too) I would benefit during this waiting period to seek answers to the following questions:

  1. What do I need to learn more about God during this season of waiting?

  1. What do I need to learn about myself in general and specifically in front of this newly closed door?

  1. What does God need to root out in my heart and in my spirit to prepare me for the event if/when God reopens that door or another door?

  1. What is God’s plan for my life, and how can I advance His kingdom?

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, You know my dreams and desires because You put them in me. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can wait and obediently trust in Your ways. Reveal to me Lord Your greater purpose in my life and Your greater Kingdom purpose.  Help me Jesus to abide in You and to sit with You Jesus in prayer. God please use my season of waiting to take me to a new level of faith, trust, love, grace, mercy, joy and root out all pride and desire to be in control and whatever it is that You see needs to be improved/changed in me. Abba Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord, I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your holy name. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

May 23 Devotion - Access to God

Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

Ephesians 2:18

Through Jesus, we all have access through the influence of the Holy Spirit, unto our Heavenly Father, God Almighty. No spirit can have access to God except through Jesus Christ, and Jesus only introduces to God the spirit that has accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I am grateful that I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ, and I now have access to You God through the Holy Spirit because I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and my Saviour. Jesus, I acknowledge that You are the only way to The Father, and that You are The Truth and The life. Thank You Father for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Jehovah, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Holy Spirit and I pray that through Your grace Jesus will continue to dwell in my heart through faith. God, I praise You, glorify You and lift You up on high.In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the glory, the power, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 22 Devotion - Align your Vision to God's Vision

For the vision awaits an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it is slow in coming wait for it; because it will surely come.  It will not delay.

Habakkuk 2:3

God has a vision for the life of each believer. He also has a vision for us as a family, a church, a community, and a country. We need to pray and meditate asking God to show us His vision for each one of us individually and collectively. Once we connect to God’s vision we need to keep hold of the vision, give our dreams a new beginning, and embrace all the blessings God has planned for us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please clarify my spiritual vision Lord and help me to focus on the principles of Your Word. Thank You Father that when my vision is aligned with Your vision for me, I have Your assurance that it will materialize. Lord, give me the strength and wisdom to follow Your leading. Give me patience Lord to wait for You to declare Your vision for me. I rejoice in the hope and the faith and knowledge that my vision is materializing. Thank You Heavenly Father for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. To Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. Amen. Jude 1:24-25

May 21 Devotion - Renew my Strength

We need to ask for the aid and direction of the Holy Spirit to succeed in our spiritual growth, His service, our daily walk with Him, and in our daily lives on earth. The waiting in the above verse is meant to be the kind of waiting as attending to. We need to attend to the Lord in the midst of our weakness. We need to worship Him, listen to His guiding Holy Spirit, be obedient to Him and find His strength in our love for Him.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please renew my strength and give me the ability to always attend to You, fill me to abundance with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to soar like an eagle over my disappointments and everything that is broken in my life. Thank You Father God that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

May 17 Devotion - Invitation from Christ

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

In this invitation Jesus is inviting several audiences. Those listening to Him and those who in years to come will remember His words and turn to Him. Those listening to Him were the Jews, who groaned under the weight of their ceremonial laws and the traditions of the elders. Jesus tells them that by coming to Him, and embracing His teachings they would be freed from these burdensome rites and rituals and be saved through grace because He will give them rest. Jesus also addresses those who are burdened by sin amongst the listeners and along the ages to come, which includes us. We will find relief when we come to Him,

believe in Him, trust Him, and Him only, for salvation. When we do this, He will give us rest - rest from our sins, from the pain of guilt, from the terrors of the law, and from the fears of eternal death. Jesus also invites all of us who are burdened by the challenges and the tribulations of the world to come to Him and lay our ‘problems’ at His feet and seek His rest, peace, and joy.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus, I accept Your invitation to put all my worries and problems at the feet of Your cross. I know that You will give me rest, peace, joy, victory, and fill my heart with Your love, for You died for the forgiveness of my sins and to redeem me and declare me righteous in the eyes of The LORD. Help me Jesus to ‘come’ to You. Thank You Jesus that You are my salvation. Abba Father, I pray to You in the holy name of Jesus. To Jesus be the glory, the power, the dominion, the majesty, and the blessings forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,

May 15 Devotion - The Peace of God

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8

Trying circumstances often are the biggest inhibitors of experiencing the peace of God. The situation is in God’s hands. He is in control despite appearances. He is able to bring about the right solution, whenever and however He chooses.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that I can dwell in safety in You. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can carry out Your instructions ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5:7 and cast my burdens on You in prayer, to tell You what bothers me and robs my joy and peace, and to have a strong faith that You heard and will answer. I want to experience Your heavenly peace and sleep in Your safety. Heavenly Father, whenever the pressures mount, help me to remember that You have taken all my cares upon Yourself. I cast my anxiety and burdens on You, knowing that everything is in Your care. Thank You Lord for Your deep and everlasting love, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Abba Father, I pray to You in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, Your only begotten Son. Amen.

May 14 Devotion - Keep Trusting God

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

1 Corinthians 2:9

“Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “ Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

God is telling us to forget any former feelings of being lost in the wilderness or stranded in the desert and our former tribulations and/or hurts and to behold His new roads in the wilderness and His rivers in the desert.

Let us rejoice, always rejoice, for God is preparing beautiful things for us. He tells us that they are beyond our imagination, and we have not seen anything like them before. Let us remember that God keeps His promises, and He is the creator of the universe. Let us choose to trust Him and Him alone.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for what I have and for what I do not have. I thank You for Your mercy and for Your grace. I put my future in Your hands because I trust You and I declare that I love You. I know that You always keep Your promises, and that You have prepared wonderful things for me and that they shall spring forth in Your perfect timing. Thank You Father God that Your unfailing, deep, and steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. In the mighty name of Jesus; my Lord and Saviour; I pray to You Father. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May 10 Devotion - I Am The Light of the World

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”

John 8:12

It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.

Daniel 2:22

Jesus and The Father are one. He came from The Father and is back with The Father.  Christ in calling himself the light expresses:

1. What He is in Himself—most excellent and glorious

2. What He is to the world—the fountain of light, enlightening every person

When we have Jesus in our hearts, and He is our world we do not walk in the darkness of this world. When we acknowledge Him as The Lord of our lives we become children of light.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can be ‘a son of light’. Strengthen me O’Lord to follow Jesus humbly and feel joy in becoming ‘Christ-like’ in my daily walk with Him. Enlighten me Jesus my light. Thank You Father for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son, The King of kings and Lord of lords, my redeemer, Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, the power, the dominion, the majesty, and the blessings before all time, now, and forevermore. Amen.

May 9 Devotion - I will be content when...

"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how-to live-in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need."

                                                                                                                         Philippians 4:11-12

I will be content when…. I get married.

I will be content when…. I have children

I will be content when…. I become financially independent

I will be content when…. I lose 20 pounds

I will be content when…. my children grow up

I will be content when……………………….

Notice that The Apostle Paul says that he learned to be content in whatever situation he is. We need to learn that too. Sometimes we get focused on our dreams and desires and feel frustrated that we have not received them, and we forget to enjoy the now.

Is it possible that we delay receiving God’s blessings because we have not learned to be content in the now and under any circumstance? I believe that when I learn to be content under any circumstance, I will be demonstrating my faith in God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Jesus please teach me to be content and thankful for the good things I have, and for all the bad things I do not have. Help me Lord to release the frustration and anxiety that I am feeling because I have not received my dreams and desires and help me realize that You are doing what is best for me. Teach me to be content in the now and under all circumstance, to rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him. Help me Jesus to enjoy the journey not just the destination. Jesus please release Your blessings and satisfy me every morning with Your loving kindness, that I may sing for joy and be glad all my days knowing that You will never desert me, nor ever forsake me. Abba Father, thank You for Your unfailing, inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, and I pray in His precious holy name. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time, and now, and forevermore. Amen.

May 7 Devotion - What Does God Really Want?

God our Savior wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6

God wants everyone to be ‘saved’. It is His desire. That is why He came down in the form of a man Jesus Christ to save us.

He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].

2 Corinthians 5:21

So how do we become saved?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

 Romans 10:9-10

It is God’s desire that You and I be saved and everyone else to be saved. You and I have a role to help everyone be saved by telling them about the good news of the Gospel. Jesus asked us to spread the word and let people know about salvation through Jesus Christ. Two of the very important truths and messages that Jesus told us are:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

John14:6

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you

Matthew 28:19-20

So my friend we have a responsibility toward ourselves to make sure we are saved, and we have a responsibility toward others to help them know the truth and The Way to salvation: Jesus Christ. Whether they accept and when or whether they do not accept that is the role of The Holy Spirit.

We all need to do what God desires, it is not just up to Priests, Pastors, or Missionaries only, it is up to each and every Christian. Have you talked about Jesus to any nonbeliever, do you talk about Jesus when you are in the company of other Christians? It is the ‘Great Commission’ that Jesus gave us. The simplest thing you can do is forward these devotions or other devotions to someone, pray for them, share the devotions on your Facebook page, forward these emails. The alternatives in this high-tech age are immense. Let’s act on God’s desire as He wants all people to be saved, let’s communicate in the method you feel most at ease with. Direct, phone, tablet, or computer.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me. Lord, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I do Your will, share Your Gospel, and help others to be saved. Lord, please sink this message deep into my heart and help me achieve Your desire. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

Jesus loves you,

In Him,
