June 4 Devotion - Burnout

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 for My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:27–30

God, I feel tired and heavy laden and my life appears to me these days like a boat that is tossing in the middle of a storm. I feel like I may be headed for emotional, spiritual, and physical burnout. Had I followed the instruction manual (Your Word) I may have guided the boat out of the storm or maybe stayed ashore. However You sometimes want us to experience the storm, so that we may build our trust that You will guide us through it, and we may grow in You.

I invite you to repeat te following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I want to take time right now to reappraise my life. Show me the patterns that need to be adjusted. Give me insight into Your priorities. Give me the courage to change. Through Your Word, Lord, and the guidance of The Holy Spirit help me to learn from Jesus and to take the Yoke Jesus offers me. Jesus, come to me like You came to Your disciples walking on the water through the storm and help me to sail through the storm Jesus and strengthen me spiritually, emotionally and physically and give me rest. Jesus, I trust and pray in Your Holy name. Amen.
Jesus loves you,
In Him,
Wagdi Henein
