February 29 Devotion - Praise God

Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Psalm 150:6

God created us to praise Him, to recognize Him as eternal, sovereign Lord and King of all creation. Praise the Lord for His mighty acts, for His excellent greatness and holy character; let us praise our Lord with all our soul and being.

I sometimes find it difficult to pull my mind off personal problems and place it on God, especially when my heart is troubled, however we are taught that:

“It is good to sing praises to our God.” As you give God glory and honor, you experience His joy and peace in a fresh, transforming way.

Psalm 147:1

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. I praise You, O God, for Your mighty acts, Your excellent greatness, and Your holy character. You are eternal, sovereign Lord and King of all creation. In every prayer train me God to first praise You before I bring You my petition. Let worship become my primary concern. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

February 28 Devotion - God's Healing Power

God's Healing Power

The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
Psalm 41:3

Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
Matthew 8:14-15

We know that Jesus has the healing power and that He performed many miracles when He was on earth. The question many of us sometimes ask is: does He still heal today? The answer is in the following biblical truth:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Jesus did not want those who were healed to go and announce about His miracles because, I believe, He wanted us to concentrate on Him and His message of Salvation, rather than the miracles themselves.

He also told many of those He healed ‘your faith has healed you’. Jesus is still healing.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourselves and others:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, give us enough faith to receive Your healing. Lord, I pray for all those who are sick and afflicted and for their families. God, give them health and perseverance, help them to go through the tough times knowing You are carrying them. As You taught us Jesus in Your prayers to The Father, Your will be done. Amen.

February 27 Devotion - In times of weakness

In times of weakness

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Today, remember, whatever you may be facing, you are not alone. You are not without hope; you will never face anything that God’s grace cannot empower you to move through. When you feel like you are about to give up and cannot continue, that is when God will carry you by His grace.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Teach me Lord to respond prayerfully in times of weakness. When I feel weak remind me to rely on Your grace, because when I do depend on Your Grace, that is when I feel the strongest. Show me the purpose of what I am facing, and give me Your wisdom and strength to handle the situation according to Your will for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

February 25 Devotion - Seek God, and all else will fall into place

Seek God, and all else will fall into place

Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.

Psalm 143:8

God is involved in everything. His involvement is unlimited and He is sovereignly at work in our lives. He cares passionately and personally for each believer and He desires for us to constantly seek His counsel in all our decisions, actions, and thoughts.

We need to seek God and His face. Let us turn our attention to Him, and He will order our steps and strengthen our hearts. Let each one of us tell Him:

I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.

Psalm 63:4

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, when the odds are against me, help me to remember that You have a plan for my life and are involved in every detail of my life.
Lord, help me to seek You consistently, knowing that if I do, all else will fall into place.
I bless You God and glorify You In Jesus’ name. Amen.

February 24 Devotion - FEAR

Fear

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Psalm 56:3

Fear seemed to be one of the first abnormal symptoms that man experienced following the fall from perfect union and fellowship with God:

But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid”

Gen. 3:9–10

Since then every heart has known the panic and trembling that fear brings. Fear of failure. Fear of today. Fear of the future.

The only antidote for fear is TRUST

David, who knew the depth of fear as few people ever have, came to this conclusion as he was seized by the Philistines:

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You

David did not deny his fear. He did not rationalize it or try to overcome it on his own. He admitted his fear and then affirmed his trust in the Lord.

We should identify the source of our fear. Bring it before God. Then confidently assert His ability to handle our fears and His willingness to replace our fears with His courage and peace.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, Thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I confess—I am fearful. Please replace my fears with Your courage and peace. Whenever I am afraid God, help me to put my trust in You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

February 23 Devotion - Put Your Dreams on God's Alter

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
John 12:24

In writing these devotions, I am the first person to benefit.
I am receiving this following message loud and clear:
It's good to be passionate but if that's all you think about you are not going to be happy unless it happens your way, and that's out of balance. Sometimes you have to put that dream on God’s altar.
Does this apply to you too? Are you frustrated because you're trying to force things to happen on your timetable? Sometimes we hold on to things so tightly, but actually, when we let them go, that's when God brings them to pass.
I am learning the following:
Release that frustration and do not let it become the centre of your attention, but instead use that same time and energy to thank God that He's directing your steps. This way you open the door for God to give you the desires of your heart.
We have to remember, God already knows what we want and what we are in need of. He's the One who put those desires in us.
“Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
Matthew 6:8
We shouldn't be consumed by trying to make things happen. Instead, a greater act of faith is to be happy right where we are; to stay open and trust God because He has great plans in store.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I really need to learn this lesson. Let this lesson go deep into my conscious and subconscious mind. Help me today to release my dreams, my desires, my "wants" like a seed falling to the ground and dying, and I know that in Your fertile plan I will receive Your desires for me. I know that You have the best plan for my future, and I trust You to bring it to pass in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

February 22 Devotion - Your Comfort Zone

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Galatians 6:9

We all want to achieve our God given dreams. Many times we get tired and/or lazy and achieve a comfort zone at a level below our hopes and desires.
When we do that we can miss out on God’s full blessing. We need to keep faith and keep working toward our vision that God has placed inside of us and depend on Him to guide our steps.
I invite youto repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, give me strength and a faith that is beyond all understanding so that I do not become weary but continue to do the good that You want me to achieve, and to grow in Your knowledge. Help me God to be patient and wait for Your due season for the harvest to come in. In Jesus’ name I pray.

February 20 Devotion - A Time to Cry and a Time to Rejoice

A Time to Cry and a Time to Rejoice

You number my wanderings;

Put my tears into Your bottle;

Are they not in Your book?

"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
Joel 2:25 (New International Version)
God collects the tears of those who cry out to Him, because He cares even if no one else cares. He is interested in our pain and considers our tears of great value. Tears shed before the Throne of God are never wasted in His Kingdom, He collects them and keeps them safe and He repays us for all those years we shed tears, for all these years the locusts have eaten.

Prayer
Abba Father, thank You for all Your blessings. Thank You for caring so much about every detail of my life. Through Your grace and mercy You record every sorrow and collect every tear I have shed. Lord, I know You will heal every single hurt and pain. You will restore all that has been lost. You see the longings and desires of my heart.                                                                                                            I know that You have my best interest at heart. I will keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right things because the One who collects my tears and repays for the years the locusts have eaten will restore every area in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

February 18 Devotion - Eternal Victory

Eternal Victory

I am learning that the greatest lessons and spiritual growth are achieved through what I and the world may consider as defeat or failure. It is at these moments when there is nothing left except God that I realize that God is all I need. That is a great victory in itself, an eternal victory.
It is God taking care of the consequences; our job is to trust Him for the outcome and to say with the apostles Paul and John:

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Romans 8:37
1 John 5:4-5

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You for Your love that gives me victory. Thank You God that whatever my circumstances, I can overcome the world because I am born again of The Spirit through my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and my faith that He is The Son of God and that He died for the forgiveness of my sins, that He was resurrected and ascended to The Heavens and is seated at the right hand of The Father. Lord, I pray to You in the name of Jesus. Amen.

February 17 Devotion - Reconciled with God

Reconciled with God

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19
To reconcile is to exchange enmity for friendship, and it usually requires that the cause of enmity or hostility be removed. The cause of hostility between God and man was removed by Jesus taking on the sins of the world. Peace is not merely that state of calmness and ease which we seek in desperate times. It is ultimately the condition that can exist between God and man because of the redeeming work of Christ who through the Cross reconciled us with God.
I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, strengthen me to always bow at the feet of Jesus and offer my life to Him. Thank You for the precious gift of reconciliation and peace that You gave me through the Cross which offers me perfect harmony with You. Thank You God for giving Your only begotten Son to die for me, and thank You Jesus for paying the price of this immeasurable gift through Your blood. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

February 16 Devotion - ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

 ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luke 11:9

A
S
K

Those who Ask will receive answers. Those who Seek will find. Those who Knock will find the door opened for them.

The Lord wants us to pray to Him, not only because it honours Him, but also because it helps us to grow in Him. Furthermore, prayer taps us into His work in the world. At any given moment, we can pray for anyone anywhere on earth and have confidence that the Lord of the entire universe will hear us and respond in the most effective fashion.
For this reason, prayer is one of the best ways to get involved in God’s mission. What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to participate in the expansion of God’s kingdom by asking the Lord to help His children and impact His creation.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, teach me to ask, seek, and knock—to persevere in prayer until I receive Your answer. Thank You for all the good and advantageous gifts You gave me, are giving me, and will give me in the future. God please teach me to seek Your face and help me grow in Your word. I knock on the door of Your Peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
