May 30 Devotion - The Foundation of Peace

Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

2 Peter 3:14

Did you ever find yourself not at peace with God? Although many may frown at this question, I admit there were times when I was not at peace with God. There are some questions to which I do not know the answers to at the present time and is keeping me from being at peace with God. He may or may not reveal His answers to me, and even if He does, I may not understand because

"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine”. Isaiah 55:8

Lasting peace cannot be attained through our own efforts, but rather through Christ in us. The peace that comes from Him is eternal. Our bond with Him is the foundation upon which real peace is built.

In order to experience the peace of God we need first to be at peace with God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord, I want to experience Your true peace. I ask You God to expose anything that may be preventing me from being at peace with You and heal it so that I can receive the true and everlasting peace that only You can give. Thank You Lord that through the atoning blood of Jesus I can become without spot and blameless in Your eyes. Father I rejoice in Your faithfulness. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name, to Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

May 29 Devotion - One God and One Mediator

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men.

1 Timothy 2:5-6

The word mediator, means a middle person, a peace-maker, one whose responsibility is to reconcile two parties at enmity. God was offended with the sins of humanity. To restore them to His peace, Jesus Christ was incarnated; and being God and man, both God and man met in and were reconciled by Him. But this reconciliation required a sacrifice on the part of the peace-maker or mediator.

We pray to and ask of Jesus directly. There are no other mediators to God and we do not need mediators to Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You Lord that Jesus redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, by His death on my behalf, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and my sole mediator to You Father. I pray that The Holy Spirit will dwell in my heart through faith. In the name of The King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

May 28 Devotion - Blessed are...

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

«طُوبَى لِلْمَسَاكِينِ بِالرُّوحِ، لأَنَّ لَهُمْ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ

      Mathew 5:3

I originally found this verse to be a difficult verse to comprehend and accept. However, once I understood it, it became so true and obvious.

Although Jesus spoke Aramaic, the original language of the Gospel of Mathew was written in Greek. The word used for ‘blessed’ in Greek is ‘Makarios’ which means deep contentment and lasting happiness.

Real happiness is found only when we realize that it exists in the spiritual realm, that it is interior to ourselves. In our spiritual realm we are designed to know, experience and enjoy God.

Deeply content are those who realize that they are spiritually bankrupt and depend on God to fuel their spirit. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we receive The Holy Spirit and can have The Kingdom of God within us.

For me it is straight forward, if  anyone wants everlasting happiness, Makarios, it is only found in Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. I praise You and glorify You. Thank You Lord for revealing to me that You are the source of my ‘makarios’. I realize that I am poor in spirit and You are the fuel and food for my spirit. Thank You for sinking the message deep in my heart that lasting happiness is not found in worldly things. Thank You that You sent Jesus to redeem me and grant me salvation and life eternal as a pure act of grace which I do not deserve. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. Amen.

May 27 Devotion - Let us give all our worries and cares to God

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7

The Apostle Peter instructed us to cast the whole of our worries, our anxieties and our concerns on God. Because God cares about us.
Many believers know how to totally relax and depend on God to resolve their problems and never worry. I do not do that very well. I still tend to worry. I need to learn to totally surrender to God , and  I need God’s help to learn and apply that.

 Can you relate to that?

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Help me Lord to be able to cast all my worries and cares upon You Lord. Strengthen my faith Lord, diminish my pride. God I know that Your solution for my life is what is best for me, help me to let go of the need to resolve my own problems, and give me the wisdom to follow Your direction. Help me Father to not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present my requests to You. You are Holy, righteous, and infinite in wisdom. Thank You God that Your mercies never cease. I pray in Jesus' precious Holy Name, to Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

May 26 Devotion - I will be content when...

"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need."
11

Philippians 4:11-12

I will be content when I find the woman of my dreams, I will be content when I become financially independent, I will be content when I lose 20 Lbs., I will be content when….

Notice that The Apostle Paul says that he learned to be content in whatever situation he is. We have to learn that too. Sometimes we get focused on our dreams and desires and feel frustrated that we have not received them and we forget to enjoy the now. Is it possible that we delay receiving God’s blessings because He wants us to learn to be content in the now and under any circumstance? I believe that when I learn to be content under any circumstance I am showing my faith in God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Jesus teach me to be content and thankful for what I have. Help me Lord to release the frustration and anxiety that I am feeling because I have not received my dreams and desires, and help me realize that You are doing what is best for me. Teach me to be content in the now and under all circumstance, to rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him. Help me Jesus to enjoy the journey not just the destination. Jesus please release Your blessings and satisfy me every morning with Your loving kindness, that I may sing for joy and be glad all my days knowing that You will never desert me, nor ever forsake me.
I pray in Jesus' precious Holy Name, to Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

May 23 Devotion - New Vessels

“No one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

Mark 2:22

There are many interpretations of this parable which Jesus told. I understand it to mean that we cannot conform to the teachings of Jesus unless we:

·     Renew our thinking and unlearn what the secular world has taught us; and continues to teach us;

·     Allow Jesus to heal the past and

·     Adopt Jesus’ way of thinking.

In order that Jesus can pour His teachings into our minds, we must first empty our saturated minds of the secular teachings. The same way that you cannot pour any new tea into a cup that is already full, the new tea will just end up in the saucer. However if you empty the cup you can fill it with the new tea, or the good news, the Gospel, God’s amazing grace.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, help me today to become a new vessel. Help me through the Holy Spirit to release old thinking, old habits, old pains, secular beliefs, and anything that would keep me from being the best You created me to be for You. Strengthen me by Your Spirit O’ Lord and guide me so that I can live my life in a way that pleases You. Make me into a new vessel and pour Your Spirit into me Lord. Jesus You are the vine and I am the branch and I am nothing without You. Help me to abide in You. Jesus I pray in Your precious Holy Name. Amen.

May 22 Devotion - Sharing our Faith

But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully.

1 Peter 3:15

We know that God our Savior, wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. We have a responsibility according to Jesus’s Great Commission to share our faith regarding God’s salvation plan through Jesus to everyone we can. So according to the advice given to us by the Apostle Peter whenever we share our faith with others we need to be prepared to give an explanation and we need to do it in a courteous and respectful manner. We need to realize that some people may reject the message and can be offended or feel threatened by it.

Some of us have members of our families that are unbelievers. We must never give up based on the rejection of the message but leave the work to The Holy Spirit and focus on the joy we will feel when we see anyone and especially those we love birthed into God’s family.

“there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

Luke 15:7

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, so that we can share our faith with those who do not believe in You Jesus as their Saviour. Help us to be prepared to answer their questions through the guidance of The Holy Spirit. Teach us to be courteous and respectful in our answers. Not letting our emotions to be in play but to let The Holy Spirit think for us and  speak through us.
God we pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; our redeemer; Jesus Christ. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

May 21 Devotion - What Does God Desire?

What Does God Desire?

God our Savior, wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6

God wants everyone to be ‘saved’. It is His desire. That is why He came down in the form of a man Jesus Christ to save us. So how do we become saved?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

It is Gods desire that You and I be saved and everyone else to be saved. You and I have a role to help everyone be saved by telling them about the good news of the Gospel. Jesus asked us to spread the word and let people know about salvation through Jesus Christ. Two of the very important truths and messages that Jesus told us are:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you

Matthew 28:19-20

So my friend we have a responsibility toward ourselves to make sure we are saved and we have a responsibility toward others to help them know the truth and The Way to salvation: Jesus Christ. Whether they accept and when or whether they do not accept  that is the role of The Holy Spirit.

We all need to do what God desires, it is not up to Priests, Pastors or Missionaries only, it is up to each and every Christian. Have you talked about Jesus to any none believer, do you talk about Jesus when you are in the company of other Christians? It is the ‘Great Commission’ that Jesus gave us. The simplest thing you can do is forward these devotions or other devotions to someone, pray for them, share the devotions on your Facebook page, forward these emails. The alternatives in this high-tech age are immense. Let’s act on God’s desire as He wants all people to be saved, let’s communicate in the method you feel most at ease with. Direct, phone or computer.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, so that we can be saved and help others to be saved. We know that this is Your will so we know that we can do it through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Jesus You said: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’ Luke 10:2
Increase the workers Lord. Sink this message deep into our hearts and help us achieve Your desire, which is also ours as we rejoice with The Heavens with one sinner who gets saved. Luke 15:7
God we pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; our redeemer; Jesus Christ. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

May 20 Devotion - We Must Never Give Up

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

We all have God-given dreams and desires. Sometimes it seems to take longer to accomplish our goals than we originally thought, or things do not work out at all.

It's easy to lose enthusiasm and end up just settling where we are. But God doesn't want us to settle, He wants to take us higher. But many times, we miss out on God's best simply because we give up too soon. Sometimes we do not realize how close we are to victory.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I praise You and glorify You. Lord, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being so that I never give up even when things are extremely hard and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Help me to stay on course in faith; and see my situation turn around. God I know You are on my side and You will help fulfil every desire You have placed on my heart. Help me Lord to continue doing good, and never give up trusting You in all faith that I will reap the harvest You have chosen for me, in Your timing. Help me Lord to always say, feel and be trustful in that in all things that are aligned with your plan and commandments I can believe that “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 I pray in Jesus' name, to Him be the power, the glory and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

May 19 Devotion - The Light of the World

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John 8:12

Jesus and The Father are one. He came from The Father, and is back with The Father.

When we have Jesus in our hearts and He is our world we do not walk in the darkness of this world. When we acknowledge Him as The Lord of our lives we become children of light.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can be ‘a son of light’ and  follow Jesus as my my Lord and Saviour. Strengthen me O’Lord to follow Jesus humbly and feel joy in becoming ‘Christ-like’ in my daily walk with Him. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my redeemer; Jesus Christ. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

May 16 Devotion - He who is mighty has done great things for me

In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. When His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness; He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.

Psalm 138:3, Job 29:3, Luke 1:49

When we walk in the light of God's countenance, every outward comfort is increased, every trouble is diminished, and we pass cheerfully by this light through life. When we rely on His loving-kindness and truth through Jesus Christ, we will always find Him faithful to His word.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You Lord for Your promise to guide me and to comfort me through the most difficult circumstances. In the day when I cried out to You God, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. As I look back on my life I see how You protected me God through the darkest hours and helped me walk in the light of Your countenance. I can boldly say that He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. LORD, I praise You, I thank You, and I glorify You, and I claim Your promises to continue to do great things for me and give me wisdom, strength and peace. In Jesus’ Holy name I pray. Amen.

May 15 Devotion - OUR COUNSELOR

“..And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

John 14:16–17

We need the Holy Spirit; whom Jesus sends to live in every believer; to:

·     Comfort us when we experience pain and sorrow.

·     Guide us into the full truth about Jesus Christ.

·     Direct our steps daily, and to help us make wise choices and Godly decisions.

·     Remind us of God’s commandments and the truth of Jesus Christ so we will know what to do and what to say in any situation in which we find ourselves.

·     Convict us of our sins and errors so we can repent and make positive changes in our lives.

·     Defeat evil on our behalf.

·     Conform us to the image of Christ Jesus.

·     We need the Holy Spirit to make us whole.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, I praise You and I want to be so intimate with You that I can hear Your voice and have divine wisdom for every decision. Heavenly Father, I know Your way is best, no matter how good the other options appear. Attune my ears and heart to the voice of Your Holy Spirit. Make me willing to obey. Thank You for Your faithfulness, dear Lord. I praise You that Your love will never let me go. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

May 14 Devotion - Sing to The Lord a new Song

Sing to the Lord a new song;     sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name;     proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;     he is to be feared above all (so called)gods.

   Psalm 96:1-4

It was a custom that poets/psalmists wrote a new song whenever God had a new large blessing for the people. We see in this song/hymn that we are called to praise and bless(affectionately praise) God and give Him glory. Three times we are here called to sing unto the Lord; sing to the Father, to the Son, to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning. This new song is a new New-Testament song, a song of praise for the new covenant and the precious privileges of that covenant, it looks further to The Kingdom of Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank you for your abundant blessings. Lord I sing a new song, a song of Your New Covenant, a song of my salvation through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Lord whenever I feel low or focus on anything other than Jesus help me to refocus on Christ by singing this new song, to sing to You LORD, to proclaim Your glory and Your wonderful news of The Gospel of Jesus Christ and my redemption, forgiveness, justification, reconciliation, sanctification and glorification. Never let me forget that I am a loved and adored child of God. I declare Your glory Lord among the nations, and Your marvelous deeds among all peoples for You are great and worthy of all praise.
In the name of my Lord and Saviour, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
