29 September Devotion - Jesus Lord and Saviour

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:17

Jesus came to earth to seek and save those who were spiritually lost and bound by sin. He came to save the lost from an eternal death. One of the attributes of Jesus is that He knows the hearts of men and understands what goes on in our spirits. He therefore knows our desires and motivations as well as our weaknesses. His knowledge is evidenced in Mark 2:6: And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, and in Luke 9:47: And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart,

Jesus knows what we need and He brings our needs to The Father:

Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior]. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. 16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
Hebrews 4:14-16 Amplified Bible (AMP)

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Thank You that You sent Jesus to save me. Thank You Jesus that you sympathize with my weaknesses and that You are my High Priest to whom I take my needs, and through You Jesus I can come boldly to God’s throne of grace. Thank You God for Your mercy and grace. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forever. Amen.

September 28 Devotion - God will strengthen you

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

Isaiah 41:10
John 16:33

God speaks with tenderness; Fear not, for I am present with you. When we are weak He will strengthen us. When we are in need He will help us. When we fall, He will uphold us with His right hand which is full of righteousness. In His hand, there is victory, strength, and provision. In His hand there is everything we need.
In contrast to our assumption that peace means the absence of conflict, Jesus promises that his peace becomes apparent in the very middle of trouble and conflict. Troubles remind us to ask for Jesus' peace. God's answer will not usually mean that the problem will be over, but that Christ's peace will see us through it.

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love of me, Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Lord, in times of trouble remind me to ask in prayer for Jesus’ peace and give me the faith that His peace will see me through it. God, help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You and obeying Your word. Lord, even when things do not make sense and are beyond my control, nothing is beyond Your ability. Lord, I know that You are upholding me with Your righteous right hand to make everything work together for my good. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forever. Amen.

September 27 Devotion - The Peace of God

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8
Trying circumstances often are the biggest inhibitors of experiencing the peace of God. The situation is in God’s hands. He is in control despite appearances. He is able to bring about a solution, whenever and however He chooses.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love of me, Your abundant blessings to me, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Thank You Lord that in You I can dwell in safety. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can carry out Your instructions ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5:7 and cast my burdens and anxiety on You in prayer, to tell You what bothers me and robs my joy and peace, and to have a strong faith that You heard and will answer. I want to experience Your heavenly peace and sleep in Your safety. Heavenly Father, whenever the pressures mount, help me to remember that You have taken all my cares upon Yourself. I cast my anxiety and burdens on You, knowing that everything is in Your care. In the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus The Christ, the only begotten Son of God, I pray. Amen.

September 26 Devotion - We are Victorious

Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].
Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].

Ephesians 6:13, 1 John 4:4

When you're determined to fulfill your God-given destiny, and you're taking steps to expand God’s Kingdom, spread the Gospel, improve your life or make a difference in your family or community, don't be surprised if you face opposition. The enemy will do whatever he can to keep you from moving forward. If you're facing opposition today, keep standing, keep believing, and keep hoping. Keep fighting the good fight of faith.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Heavenly Father, I want to live a Holy life. I realize I cannot do it by myself. I cannot change myself. But You can. I’m depending on Your Holy Spirit to make me a partaker of Your divine, holy nature. Lord, thank You for Your promise of victory. Give me Your strength today to take my eyes off my challenges and focus on You. Thank You for equipping me with Your armour so that I can stand firm and strong in You. Let this message sink deep into my soul God, that I am from You and that I have already overcome because The Holy Spirit that is in me is greater than the opposition in the world. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In Him,
