September 4 Devotion - Guard your hearts and minds through Jesus

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; ⁷ and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

⁶لاَ تَهْتَمُّوا بِشَيْءٍ، بَلْ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ بِالصَّلاَةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ مَعَ الشُّكْرِ، لِتُعْلَمْ طِلْبَاتُكُمْ لَدَى اللهِ. ⁷وَسَلاَمُ اللهِ الَّذِي يَفُوقُ كُلَّ عَقْل، يَحْفَظُ قُلُوبَكُمْ وَأَفْكَارَكُمْ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

Philippians 4:6-7

Let us begin every day with a declaration of victory over the specific challenges in our lives. Item by item, let us thank God for the victory, pray to the Father based upon the fact that Christ at the cross paid the price not only for our sins but for our victories.

By doing so, we activate our faith before activating our will to resist on our own. When the anxiety or pressure comes, each one of us can tell the Holy Spirit, Christ has already dealt with this, and I have already claimed His power, so please guide me and show me how to handle it.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for the abundant blessings and gifts You have given me, especially the gift of salvation. I need and yearn for Your peace. Please fill my heart and mind with Your peace that transcends all understanding. You know my burdens, tears, and sorrows. I humbly bow before You and worship declaring victory through my redeemer Jesus Christ. Lord, thank You for being present in the small details of my life. I praise You, Lord. Write Your Word on my heart, O Lord, and teach me to cherish it. Jesus, I pray in Your name knowing that You will guard my heart and mind in You. Amen.
