May 1 Devotion - God's Healing Power

This devotion is dedicated to all of us who need healing. Physical and/or emotional.

The LORD will strengthen him/her on his/her bed of illness; You will sustain him/her on his/her sickbed.
Psalm 41:3

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
Isaiah 46:4

We know that Jesus has the healing power and that He performed many miracles when He was on earth. The question many of us sometimes ask is: Does He still heal today? The answer is in the following biblical truth:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
John 14:16

Jesus told many of those He healed ‘your faith has healed you’. Jesus is still healing and we have The Holy Spirit within us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourselves and others:
Abba Father, thank You for Your deep, everlasting, and inseparable love for me and Your abundant blessings.
Lord please grant me out of the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through Your Spirit in my inner self, indwelling my innermost being and personality so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. Lord, give me and all who are in need enough faith to receive Your healing. Lord, I pray for all those who are sick and afflicted and for their families. God, give them health and perseverance, help them to go through the tough times knowing You are carrying them. As You taught us Jesus, in Your prayers to The Father, Your will be done. God I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; The King of kings and Lord of lords, my Redeemer, Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, the power, the dominion, the majesty and the blessings forever and ever and unto ages of all ages.Amen.

Jesus loves you,
In Him,

April 30 Devotion - Love and Compassion

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands; you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

John 15: 9-12

As followers of Christ, His love to us should direct us to love each other. Jesus commands us to love each other in the same way He loves us. As we know, Jesus loves us with a tender affection, willing to endure trials for us, willing to practice self-denial for our sake and He did lay down His life for us. Can we simulate that? On our own we cannot, but we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Philippians 2:4

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God.
Isaiah 40:1
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Cor. 1:3–4

Last Monday in Toronto a man drove a van into pedestrians killing ten people and wounding sixteen. Tonight a Vigil was held for all the victims. Twenty five thousand people came together to comfort the victims’ families and to pray for those still being treated. It was great to see people having compassion for others and actually following God and Jesus’ commands and teachings.

Jesus teaches us to break the spirit of selfishness, and to have a benevolent regard for the happiness of others. Jesus teaches us to be kind to one another and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. We need to be compassionate one to another in order to experience the benefit of God’s compassion toward us.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for comforting me, for sending Your Holy Spirit; the Parakletos, the comforter, to indwell in me. LORD help me and teach me how to comfort others with the comfort You have given me and are giving me. LORD, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can care about others as much as I care about myself and esteem others and be concerned for their interests.  God, teach me to be humble according to Your will and teach me to be compassionate and sympathetic to all Your children. Jesus, help me to obey your commands through the Holy Spirit which indwells in me. Thank You Lord for Your deep and everlasting love for me, Your abundant blessings, and for the riches of Your grace in my life. Lord, I praise You, I glorify You, I lift You up on high and I rejoice in You.In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, to Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,
In Him,

April 27 Devotion - Lasting Happiness

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:3

Since the original language of the Gospel of Matthew was written in Greek (although Jesus spoke Aramaic), the word used for blessed is ‘Makarios’ which means deep contentment and lasting happiness.
Real happiness is found when we realize that happiness is in the spiritual realm that is interior to ourselves. In our spiritual realm we are designed to know, experience and enjoy God.

In the same way that man designed a car to run on gasoline (or electricity if you own an electric car); I believe God designed us to run on Himself. He is the fuel our spirits were designed to run on.

I always pondered on why being ‘poor in spirit’ is a good thing, until I learnt that it means: it is when I realize my spiritual bankruptcy and depend on God who is the real food and fuel to my spirit and He comes to live within me that I can have Makarios. When I accept His Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, I receive The Holy Spirit and I can have The Kingdom of God within me and be guaranteed eternity with God.

For me it is straight forward, if anyone wants everlasting happiness, Makarios, it is only found in Jesus.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for revealing to me that You are the source of my ‘makarios’. I realize that I am poor in spirit and You are the fuel and food for my spirit. Thank You for sinking the message deep in my heart that lasting happiness is not found in worldly things. Thank You that You sent Jesus to redeem me and grant me salvation and life eternal as a pure act of grace which I do not deserve. Thank You Lord for Your abundant blessings and deep inseparable love. I praise You and glorify You. I declare Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and I pray in His Holy Name. To Him be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion forever and ever, Amen.

Jesus loves you,
In Him,
