Jehovah Tsidkenu: “The Lord our
Righteousness.” A simple definition of righteousness is 'doing that which is
right'. This name speaks of the fact that God will always do that which is
right…because He is righteous!
Now this is His name by which He
will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
Jeremiah 23:6
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are
justice,
A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is
He.
Deuteronomy 32:4
Jehovah is the
Source of Righteousness, Man has no righteousness, since we are unrighteous,
and we need pardon from God. It is God alone who provides righteousness to man,
in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, who became sin for us “that we might
become the Righteousness of God in Him”.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be
sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness
of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners,
so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19
