January 31 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

Philippians 3:20

Our citizenship, our thoughts, our affections, are already in heaven.  We must look unto the heavens expecting Christ’s return.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Thank You God that You have bestowed me with the honour of being a citizen of heaven, where You and Jesus dwell. So my citizenship is not of this world but of heaven. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Jesus may continue to dwell in my heart through faith. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 30 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am free forever from condemnation

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2

In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul said: ‘So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin’ meaning that the Law could not affect deliverance from sin. In Romans 8 he states ‘There is, therefore, now’ deliverance and it is related to the gospel alone. This applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross, and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. God has justified us, or declared us not guilty, because by the gift of faith we have accepted Christ as Saviour. Because Christ has already endured the penalty of our sins and obeyed the precept of the Law in our behalf, there is no condemnation whatever; not only no final condemnation, but no condemnation now. This does not mean a license to sin, on the contrary. By accepting Jesus as Lord over our lives the Spirit of God is conveyed into our hearts through The Holy Spirit and we are delivered from sin. Our union with Christ is compared to that between the vine and its branches John 15:1-6, and hence, we believers are in Him in a similar sense, as deriving our support from Him, and as united in feeling, in purpose, and destiny. Out of love for Jesus and through the Holy Spirit we live in obedience to God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I as a follower of Your Son Jesus I am free forever from condemnation. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can live by the spirit and not by the flesh. Father God, I praise You and glorify You. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 29 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a member of the body of Christ

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:27)

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

1 Corinthians 12:27

The Church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head. The Apostle Paul states the truth that the church is one, as the body is one, yet has many members, so is it with the church. The body has many members, and no members in the body are useless, but all perform important parts, however unimportant they may seem to be; and no one member can say that it has no need of the others. So it is in the church. As members of The Church of Christ (global) all believers are members of the body of Christ.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. Thank You Lord that I am a member of the body of Christ. Lord, strengthen me to continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend and behave in a such a way that pleases Your spirit within me. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the living Son of God to whom be honour, power, dominion and glory forever and ever. Amen.

January 27 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a personal witness of Christ

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

When we accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we were indwelt with The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit equips us and enables us to handle matters that are too difficult for us. The Holy Spirit will release His power through us to meet every situation, problem, or emergency. The condition is that we have a part to do, it is simple but we need to do it to release His power. We have to ask, we have to call on His name. A too simple of an analogy is that if we do not turn the electrical switch on when we go into a room, it will remain dark. The power is there but dormant until we turn on the switch. The Holy Spirit indwells us but we have to turn His power on by asking, praying and calling on His name.

Jesus commissions us to link to the earth’s unreached people, to let them know how to attain salvation through Jesus Christ, to learn about The Trinity and to be empowered through The Holy Spirit.

Thank You Lord that I am indwelt with The Holy Spirit. Help me Lord to always call on the name of The Holy Spirit to guide me and to help me to meet every situation, problem, or emergency.  Lord, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can link to the earth’s unreached people, to let them know how to attain salvation through Jesus Christ, to learn about The Trinity and to be empowered through The Holy Spirit. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the living Son of God to whom be honour, power, dominion and glory forever and ever. Amen.

January 25 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am the salt & light of the earth

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt. 5:13-14)

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Matthew 5:13-14

Please note that Jesus never challenges us to become salt or light. He simply says that we are - and we are either fulfilling or failing that responsibility. Salt is needed because the world is rotting and decaying and if our Christianity is also rotting and decaying, it won't be any good. Light is needed because the world is in darkness, and if our Christianity imitates the darkness, we have nothing to show the world. To be effective we must seek to be Christlike in everything we say and do all the time.

Father God I pray that You make me more and more like Your Son so that I can fulfill the responsibility of being the salt and the light to everyone I can be in contact with in my everyday life.In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 24 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a personal witness of Christ

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

We each have a role to talk about the good news and the truth about Jesus to all those who do not believe and/or do not know the good news and the truth. Do you know anyone whom you can help? Even if you just forward devotions to them, that is a beginning.

Here is the good news:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am granted access to You God, my Heavenly Father and I will spend eternity with You. Expand my focus Jesus, and bring me into harmony with Your divine purpose of reaching the world with the good news of the gospel and the truth about Your identity. Jesus, I pray that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can help others become Your disciples. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

January 23 Devotion - Your DNA in God - I am a saint (set apart for God)

I KNOW WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)

To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus.

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord

Ephesians 1:1, 1 Corinthians 1:2.

The word “saint” comes from the Greek word hagios, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious.” The idea of the word “saints” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. Therefore, scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christian believers are considered saints in The bible and at the same time are called to be saints. Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. This is the biblical description and calling of the saints. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith as Lord and Saviour is a saint.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that Jesus bought me with His precious blood and through Jesus’ redemptive work at The Cross I am sanctified and I am a saint. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify me completely, and may my whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Lord, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can increasingly allow my daily life to more closely match my position in Christ. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)
I am free from any charge against me (Rom. 8:31-34)
I am a minister of reconciliation for God (2 Cor.5:17-21)
I have access to God through the Holy Spirit (Eph 2:18)

I am assured all things work together for good (Rom. 8: 28)
I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit (John 15:16)
I may approach God with freedom and confidence (Eph. 3: 12)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13)
I am the branch of the true vine, a channel of His life (John 15: 1-5)
I am God's temple (1 Cor. 3: 16).  I am complete in Christ (Col. 2: 10)
I am hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3).  I have been justified (Romans 5:1)
I am God's co-worker (1 Cor. 3:9; 2 Cor 6:1).  I am God's workmanship (Eph. 2:10)
I am confident that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected (Phil. 1: 5)
I have been redeemed and forgiven (Col. 1:14).  I have been adopted as Gods child (Eph 1:5)

Keep this bell ringing, share with others

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s, knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

1 Corinthians 6:20, 1 Peter 1:18-19

Apart from the blood of Christ, you and I could not have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Jesus’ sacrificial death made it possible for sinful man to approach Holy God. Because of His blood, believers are redeemed, forgiven, justified, and sanctified.
Our obligation toward our redeemer is in proportion to the price which is paid for our redemption. A price far more valuable than any amount of silver or gold had been paid for our redemption and we are under proportionate obligation to devote ourselves to His service. Believers are redeemed by the life of the Son of God offered in their behalf; and between the value of the life of The Son of God and silver and gold there is no comparison.

Thank You Lord that I was not purchased with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, You  justified me and even sanctified me according to the riches of Your grace. Lord, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches that You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend and behave in a such a way that pleases Your spirit within me. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

1 Corinthians 6:17

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour we have the same spirit, in measure, which Christ our Mediator with God has without measure. We have the Spirit of God, as a spirit of faith and holiness and of adoption. We are also sealed for eternity.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I as a follower of Your Son Jesus I am joined with Jesus and enjoy the same spirit. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15

A slave does not know the plans of his/her master or owner. He receives the commands of his master without knowing the reasons why they are ordered. Friendship on the other hand allows one to be made acquainted with the plans, wishes, and wants of the friend. This instance of friendship Jesus had shared with His disciples the reasons why he was about to leave them, and with His secret wishes in regard to them. As He had given them this proof of friendship, it was proper that He should not withhold from them the title of friends.

The reason why He calls us friends is that He treats us as friends. He has opened to us His mind; made known to us His plans; acquainted us with the design of His coming, His death, His resurrection, ascension, and second coming; and, having thus given us the clearest proof of friendship, it is therefore proper that He gives us this name.

We should always look at Jesus as our friend, even though He is also our Lord and master.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Jesus You laid Your life for me and said: Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 Thank You Jesus  for loving me and treating me like Your friend. Abba Father thank You that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. LORD, I pray that out of Your  glorious riches You strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that I can continue to declare to the world that Christ is my Lord and Saviour and Friend. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

I have been redeemed and forgiven (Col. 1:14).  I have been adopted as Gods child (Eph 1:5)
I belong to God

Keep this bell ringing, share with others

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

John 1:12

Be freed from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Romans 8:21

Does this apply to everyone? I believe it applies only to those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and accepted the fact that He bore their sins in His own body at The Cross, and have declared Him as their Lord and Saviour. At that moment they are born again through the spirit and become children of God.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings and love. Lord You are Good and I praise You and glorify You. Thank You Lord that my DNA reveals that I am a child of God and I was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You Lord that You redeemed me and granted me forgiveness of my sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Amen.

January 16 Devotion - Rejoice Today

.

This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

 Psalm 118:24

Today is a gift. That is why they call it the ‘present’. Rejoice in it.

The Greek word in the Bible for ‘joy’ is chara and the verb is charein which is often translated ‘to rejoice’. Closely related is the word ‘charis which is translated to be ‘grace’.

I explore this to present my point that it is ‘Charis’ that produces ‘Chara’ or in English, it is ‘Grace’ that produces ‘Joy’. Understanding the word of God increases our appreciation of His Grace, and our feeling of Joy.

I always wondered and struggled for years to understand how the Apostle Paul was feeling joy while being held prisoner in a dungy Roman prison cell and how from there he told us to:

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Philippians 4:4

My realization is that The Apostle Paul felt God’s grace so powerfully that it overshadowed all the negative feelings of being chained in a Roman prison to the point that he actually felt joy.

Jesus said:

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

John 15:11

All through the Bible we see evidence of God wanting us to be joyful, irrespective of the situation. Let’s concentrate on God’s grace and the magnitude of His love for us expressed through His grace and that on its own is reason enough for quantum joy.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, thank You that You gave me today as a present for me to rejoice in. I praise You, I thank You, I glorify You and I rejoice in You. Fill me God totally and envelop me with Your Grace, so that I can feel an inner joy independent of circumstances. Jesus I long for and pray that Your Joy remain in me and that my Joy be full and that I may always have the Fruit of The Spirit, Joy, bubbling within me. Hallelujah. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Him be the glory and the power and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
