May 16 Devotion - TRUSTING GOD'S PLAN

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going
بالايمان ابراهيم لما دعي اطاع ان يخرج الى المكان الذي كان عتيدا ان يأخذه ميراثا فخرج وهو لا يعلم الى اين يأتي

Hebrews 11:8

“These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, ….. He who opens and no one will [be able to] shut, and He who shuts and no one opens. I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut,

Revelation 3:7-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord’s plan for our life often involves different timing than we would choose. We want to move ahead so we can quickly arrive at our destination, however God who is all-knowing; sees when rushing would land us on our face.

Look back at your life and thank God, look forward and trust God. If He has opened the door you are pursuing, have no fear God will be with you in every step of the way until you reach your God planned destination.

Abram provided an illustration of what we should do and what we should not do. He followed what God told him to do and he gathered his family and friends and left his home and his comfort zone and followed where God was taking him not even knowing where he was going. A total and complete trust, which is what we should do. However when famine threatened the land, he took matters into his own hands and traveled to Egypt without consulting God. He ended up going through many problems. Even a person of faith can resort to the “flesh” and respond from old thought patterns.

It is absolutely essential that we wait for the Lord. Even if we don’t understand His purpose, that is still no excuse for coming up with our own course of action. What situation in your life is tempting you to run ahead of your heavenly Father? Have patience. God is never late.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:
Abba Father, please give me patience, for I know You are never late. Keep me from acting in the flesh. Deliver me from old thought patterns. Thank You Lord that when You open a door nobody can close it. Lord show me the way. Thank you for knowing every emotion I go through and for having an answer and support for me today. Lord, I surrender to Your wisdom and knowledge and trust You in good times and in challenging times. Lord, I rejoice in the assurance that You are with me God wherever I am, that all things will work together for good for me, and that I will rejoice because Your peace God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Lord I praise You, revere You, worship You, I stand in awe of You, I lift You up on high, and glorify Your Holy Name. In the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, in the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty and the dominion  forever and ever and unto ages of all ages. Amen.

Jesus loves you,
In Him,
Wagdi Henein
