August 31 Devotion - The Holy Spirit

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”

 John 14:16–17

We need the Holy Spirit; whom God sends to live in every believer; to:

  1. Comfort us when we experience pain and sorrow.
  2. Guide us into the full truth about Jesus Christ.
  3. Direct our steps daily, and to help us make wise choices and Godly decisions.
  4. Remind us of God’s commandments and the truth of Jesus Christ so we will know what to do and what to say in any situation in which we find ourselves.
  5. Convict us of our sins and errors so we can repent and make positive changes in our lives.
  6. Defeat evil on our behalf.
  7. Conform us to the image of Christ Jesus.
  8. We need the Holy Spirit to make us whole.

I invite you to repeat the following Prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, I want to be so intimate with You that I can hear Your voice and have divine wisdom for every decision. Heavenly Father, I know Your way is best, no matter how good the other options appear. Attune my ears and heart to the voice of Your Holy Spirit. Make me willing to obey. Thank You Father God for Your inseparable, deep and everlasting love for me and Your abundant blessings in my life. Lord, I praise You, glorify You, and lift You up on high. May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of my faith that by the power of The Holy Spirit I will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in God's promises. Romans 15:13 In the holy name of Jesus I pray. To Jesus be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

August 30 Devotion - The Storms of Life

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

لا تهتموا بشيء بل في كل شيء بالصلاة والدعاء مع الشكر لتعلم طلباتكم لدى الله.

وسلام الله الذي يفوق كل عقل يحفظ قلوبكم وافكاركم في المسيح يسوع

 Philippians 4:6-7

Anxiety distracts the mind from communion with God. ‘Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow…but empties today of its strength’ (Charles Spurgeon)

The word nothing means it excludes any reason. No reason is exempt, and we are not allowed to worry about anything. This means that we are to pray about everything. Through thankful prayer we can declare to God our anxious thoughts and have faith that He will fill our hearts and mind with His peace when we leave our anxieties at The Cross.

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Lord, You know exactly where I am emotionally and mentally and I know as per Jesus’ promise You will comfort me. Help me to practice growing still before You Lord. I dwell on Your goodness knowing You never fail me. Father God, I believe that sometimes You do allow the pressures of life to build so that I can learn how to deal with them from a position of faith and not fear. Thank You for not condemning me for my feelings, and for providing wisdom for all I face. Strengthen me so as not to feel anxious and to be always thankful so that Your peace which surpasses all comprehension, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen.

August 27 Devotion-UNLOAD YOUR CARES

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; For God has said:  ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

 Philippians 4:6

Isaiah 41:10

Many times, our fears result from imaginary thoughts, things that will never happen or come true. By crying out to God and unloading our cares and burdens on Him, He is assured of (and we are reminded of) our dependence on Him. And that is what pleases Him. Even before our prayers are answered, we feel peace.

When you come up against a fear–producing situation, immediately pray for God’s wisdom and protection, admit your inner struggle, and leave it in God’s hands for God is omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (always present), and omniscient (all-knowing).

I invite you to repeat the following prayer for yourself:

Abba Father, please strengthen me to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I present my requests to You. Cover me with Your grace Lord so that I feel confident of Your promise to strengthen me, help me to always unload my burden upon You and uphold me with Your righteous right hand. My heavenly Father, thank You that Your deep steadfast love for me endures forever. Thank You Father for Your abundant blessings in my life, and for the riches of Your grace upon my life. Father God, I pray to You in the name of Your precious Son; my Redeemer and Saviour; the Lord of my life, Jesus Christ. To Jesus be the power, the glory, the majesty, the blessings, and the dominion before all time and now and forevermore. Amen..

In Him,
